Does this happen often to you? [ he's starting with the ones easiest to pick up first and puts them near them. ]
no subject
I wouldn't say it happens "often". [ They groggily rub at one of their eyes, watching him collect the pieces of black quartz. It really will be a struggle to go back to Flavo and glue them back on. ] I'm only like this because I needed to find a way to not sink these rafts.
[ At the time it sounded like a good idea, but now that they're dealing with playing operation, it's kind of a hassle. ]

[ they look so much lighter than he does, it's impressive to actually feel the weight once he lifts a piece. ]
Do you want me to take you home? Or is someone coming for you?
no subject
[ That would be ideal!! They're not particularly in the mood to drag themself all the way to Flavo with their one remaining arm. ]
I can't remember if I arranged for someone to take me home. My kind lose memories when we're missing limbs like this, you see.
no subject
But that's worrying. [ losing memories? for something you can't control? a frown as he looks at the big pieces of cairn he's collecting. ] I wonder if I can turn these pieces to something .... lighter. That'll make them easier to carry while I have you. You're alive, but you're also a gemstone .... I don't want to attempt anything that'll complicate your structure seeing as I can't really restore objects to their proper state. [ last time he did that, he created a zombie. there is also the matter of the other shards, maybe he can imbue something of cairn's with life and then track it down that way? so many possibilities, he's a lot more careful about how to use his powers with them. so what he says is, ] It's up to you. We can come back for the pieces too; I'm sure if we explain to someone what they are, they wouldn't mind watching over them for a while.
no subject
Don't turn them into anything weird. Or anything at all— my inclusions are finicky enough as is...
[ They already have a super hard time being reassembled, so the idea of magically turning parts of their body into other things and risking never being able to reattach them stresses them out. There's a pause while they examine the pieces that he's collected from their seat in the boat, identifying what parts of them they would make up. ]
Just— leave them there. Those are all parts of the same leg. That means the other one is likely at my house already... if I just get that one on, coming back for these will be easier.
no subject
[ that's a funny term. but he does as they ask, and then giorno crouches before him. ]
Whenever you're ready. [ and that's when -
a second figure appears beside giorno, settling beside him in the same pose that he's making, crouched before cairn as well. ] It'll look awkward, I guess. If you're married, now's a good time to inform them I'm taking you home.
[ he's kidding, of course. but with cairn's permission he'll take them into his arms and lift them home, like a child. and his stand will help make sure that they're not too heavy for him to lift by helping as well. ]
no subject
[ Marriage?!? That's a foreign concept only seen in books, to them, unfortunately. They let the other pick them up (not that they can really protest much in this form), though not without giving his stand a slightly confused look. Where have they seen an ability like this before... ]
What, you have one of those Persona things, too?
[ summoning a big tall thing? that carries stuff? definitely rings a bell! ]
no subject
[ as for that question, giorno frowns. it's a comical scene because he's got his hands wrapped around their waist and his stand helping him carry their bottom half, or what's left of it. ]
And I don't know what a Persona is. Something you encountered in this town? [ they didn't speak like they were familiar with the term. ]
no subject
Its... something a few people in this town have. They make a big thing appear from nowhere, like you are right now.
[ That's about as specific as it's going to get, unfortunately. ]
What is that, if it's not...?
no subject
... It's a Stand.
Most of the time people shouldn't be able to see it, and for good reason: it's a rather personal thing. It's a reflection of the user's soul.
But things are different here so I probably should just let it go.
Personas sound very similar, however. It isn't really surprising that even in different worlds, the means of summoning may be different for people but the principle remains the same.
no subject
[ The idea that summoning abilities exist across multiple worlds is weird enough as is, but they suppose that anything is possible given the limitless nature that the universe seems to have. Or at least, what this strange town seems to imply about the universe. ]
That might not seem very strange to you, but there's certainly no "summoning" going on where I'm from. I barely even understand what these things are supposed to be for...
no subject
It happens to everyone. If it hasn't happened to you, it will. [ giorno says this like it's fate; quietly, with a certainty that's not exactly optimistic, but a level tone. almost like a fact but not quite story. ] Even in this town; from out of that well, someone or something that knows you will come. We are drawn to each other like that. It's actually not so bad here, because you've got time to breathe. Back home there's barely any time to do that.
.... anyway. [ he checks out the surroundings again. ] Are we close by?
no subject
[ All this summoning talk is too confusing!! Especially for their groggy, confused mind. Tiredly, they scan the area of Flavo, blinking wearily before they respond to his question: ]
Do you see that colorless house, over there? [ They point with their remaining arm. It's the only house in Flavo currently with no color in it— impossible to miss, and not all too far away. ] That's where I live. If you just take me there, I'll know how much of me is still missing.
no subject
Anyway, I'd be glad to take you to your house. You'll be alright if I leave you there for your friend?
no subject
[ This is going a lot smoother than they anticipated! They're the kind that thinks of the worst case scenario just in case, but it turns out maybe their island-stuck self had thought up a pretty safe plan to get them reassembled. Either way, they'll have to make it up to this person eventually, so they'd like a clarification: ]
What's your name again? I think we've met before.
no subject
[ he says it gently to them as he makes his way to their house. ] And yes, we have. I showed you what sheep looked like.
Next time, when things aren't so busy, you can ask me to show you other kinds of animals you're interested in. I'll make them for you.
