Thus, on Life’s gloomy sea, Heareth the marinere Voices sweet, from far and near, Ever singing in his ear, “Here is rest and peace for thee!”

t's a dark night, and the sounds of feet in the darkness are further dampened and hidden by even more magic, as they are lured away by the soft sounds of dreams that are too good to be true, leaving the Town much, much emptier than when it began. On one side, an island, and a ticking clock to a gruesome death. On the other, the slow realization that those bonds everyone has been forging might mean much, much more than they first thought. Yeah, I've sort of gone for the whole back to nature look.

[Thanks, Dave. And here is Keith slashing (bashing?) with his stick too. He really hates these things, honestly.

He especially resents the hell out of them for using his father's voice to call to him. That's unforgivable.]

[ dave's a little less graceful than he usually manages to be. it's notable, but he doesn't stop moving anyway. ]

You have no idea how good it is to see you. We were so - fuck. [ he misses a block, but it's not fatal, and he just kind of laughs. ] These guys are assholes.

Yeah, they're definitely assholes. If I had to listen to anymore discussion of who would be better to eat, I was going to lose it.

[Casual conversation as he keeps swinging his makeshift staff to try to fend the creatures off.]

How'd you guys even find us?

An island showed up a few days in, shrouded in mist in the distance. We used our mad logic skills and went "hey, maybe they're there".

[ dave at least seems to be cutting some of the sirens down - with any luck they'll back off and into the water before he drops from exhaustion. ]

Where did you rank on the to-eat list?

[lonered]

Flawless, as logic goes.

[This stupid place is playing games with them. Again. Displaying the island and everything. Keith is still siren-bashing too.

The next question draws a grim grin over his face.]

Pretty high. Something about being a trouble maker. But I bite back, so maybe that was a little more discouraging.

...Did you actually bite a merperson??

[ WHY CAN HE PICTURE THIS IN HIGH DEFINITION... ]

I didn't have my sword.

[So yes. He bit a merperson. A little. He shrugs. He's resourceful. He'll use whatever weapons he does or doesn't have available.]

...What'd it taste like?

[ ASKED AS HE CUTS DOWN ANOTHER MERPERSON... ]

I wasn't trying to eat the thing, you know.

[Like, really Dave. He was just defending himself with the weapons he had on hand. Or mouth. Anyway.]

...fishy, though.

[As he takes his stick to the side of another merperson's ead.]

Like good fishy or bad fishy??

Bad fishy. I wouldn't recommend it.

I'm a little concerned at how interested in the specifics of this you are.

[Why Dave. Why do you need to know a siren's flavor?

It's for science! [ it's not for science. but it looks like their battle is drawing to a close...mostly because the sirens figure out there are Too Many chroma folk around now and are beating a hasty retreat back into the waves. ]
