rescue
[And with that shout comes an actual torrent of lightning and electricity, shot from a magical tome and aiming right at the siren. There stands Maribelle, healing staff in one hand, tome in the other.
And pissed as hell.]
GET AWAY FROM HER THIS INSTANT OR I'LL TURN YOU INTO BAIT!

[Estelle's surprised by the sudden flash of thunder, but her relief is potent, too-- she knows an art when she sees one. Tables turned, Estelle will take the opening the attack offers and clock the screeching, smoking siren hard in the head before it can attack again.]
--You guys finally made it!

Are you all right? I saw the blood...!
no subject
[Priorities! She has them.
And she doesn't seem like she'll manage to keep standing for much longer, from how unsteady on her feet she looks. She's still hanging on though, staff raised just in case another attack comes. The siren has crumpled, either into unconsciousness or dead. One of those, hopefully.]
Is it down for good....?
no subject
[It's a mix of good sense and pettiness, honestly, that drives her to fire another hard bold of lightning into STUPID EVIL FISH THING KIDNAPPING HER FRIENDS FUCK OFF]
no subject
She watches the Siren twitch and screech and then flop over like a dead fish.... which, technically, it was, before poking it's well fried corpse with a nod and a grimace.]
....Well, it's definitely down now. Good riddance.
[And without any other attackers around, Estelle's going to lower her stick, immediately pressing it's tip into the ground to keep herself standing straight.]

What about you? Where are your wounds? I still have enough energy to cast a healing spell.

Um... well...
[All over, basically. It's not like she's hidden them any, besides the bite on her arm wrapped in a makeshift bandage. There's a nasty bruise covering one side of her jaw and cheek, and plenty of smaller cuts and bruises, but her leg is probably the most obvious injury of the bunch, a long but luckily not too deep cut hindering her mobility. Still, Estelle's hesitant to take possible healing from any other person who might need it.
Then again.... she also needed to be able to fight, if she was going to protect the people who couldn't protect themselves.]
It's not urgent, but... my leg injury is probably the one messing me up the worst, right now. I could keep fighting better if it was fixed up.

All right... once we return to the town, you need to get checked up, get everything wrapped and cleaned. For now...
[She raises her staff, and it emits a calm glow - Estelle glows similarly for a brief moment, her pain lessening some and her energy and strength returning.]

Roger.
[Estelle lets out a soft sigh of relief as the magic sinks into her skin, taking the edge off her pain and giving her a bit of a second wind. It was a testament to her stubbornness that she was still standing up until now, though even without healing she'd have continued to try to fight regardless.
Protecting people was still her job, after all.
She shoots Maribelle a small, grateful smile, able to stand a little straighter now after that spell.]
....Thanks, Maribelle. You're a lifesaver.
no subject
Yes, well, let's save that until we know our lives are saved... we need to get off this place, and back to the town.
no subject
[Estelle glances at Maribelle with concern. They both seem to be in less than tip top shape, it seems, and she feels a bit guilty for draining Maribelle so.
....Well, they just have to make do with what they had going for them, right now.]
But yeah, you're right... where are the boats? Or whatever you guys took to get here.
[She remembered the boat projects going on before the kidnapping, so she assumed--]

[She wipes some sweat off her face.]
For now, let's focus on finding as many of our friends as we can.
no subject
[She'll trust Maribelle knows what she's doing-- goddess knows she doesn't know a thing about magic.]
Right. I'm not sure where everyone else is, we got kind of scattered, but I doubt those fishfaces are making a retreat towards the boats easy.
no subject
[and does she really want to know?]
