t's a dark night, and the sounds of feet in the darkness are further dampened and hidden by even more magic, as they are lured away by the soft sounds of dreams that are too good to be true, leaving the Town much, much emptier than when it began. On one side, an island, and a ticking clock to a gruesome death. On the other, the slow realization that those bonds everyone has been forging might mean much, much more than they first thought. [Minato's not feeling so good, honestly; he's had a rough couple of days already, and things don't seem to show any signs of getting better.

But even so--

Even so, there are people here in danger, and when he hears the yell, Minato's immediately running that way, sword in hand, struggling to fight through limbs that feel like lead. But still, someone is in danger, and that means he needs to hurry.]

Hey--get away from her!

[The siren turns to hiss at him, but it's upon seeing the sword in his hand that it seems to think twice about attacking, retreating a few paces instead.]

Ah-!

[Kairi glances back at the yell and quickly steps out of the way.]

Thanks! I thought I was fish food!

[He's definitely keeping an eye on that siren, sword lifted--but he's put together enough to flash Kairi a small, hopefully reassuring smile.]

Sorry it took us so long to get here... it was a bit of a mystery for awhile. Are you okay?

I'm just glad you're here!

[She doesn't know this person, but he sure isn't a siren. Right? Right.]

I-I'm okay.. just really cold and tired and hungry...

[The siren, who is sick of facing prey that actually has weaponry, finally decides this is too much effort and turns and nopes on out. Which gives them a bit more freedom, at least.

Oh... when she says that, he finally properly looks around--this island is definitely not...particularly inhabitable. Yikes.]

I think some people brought supplies--come on, if you come back to the boats, there should be something to eat.

[Kairi is sticking pretty close to him, eyeing down the Siren until it finally peaces. She lets out a slow sigh of relief before glancing up at him.]

O-Okay... will you come with me?

Of course.

[That's something that's easy to agree to; of course she's tired and scared and overwhelmed, after being out here for so long, getting dragged into something like this..]

I'll protect you on the way there, okay? I won't leave.

[Even the most capable person needs help like this in moments that are like this one.]

[Kairi feels a lot better just having him here. It's been a hell of a week after all. She feels a little scared still but a lot more safer!]
