Intro Log.

Pussy's in the well. Who put her in? Little Johnny Thin. Who pulled her out? Little Tommy Stout. What a naughty boy was that, To try to drown poor pussy cat, Who never did him any harm, But killed all the mice in the farmer's barn.
Welcome to Awash's first intro log, everyone! Please review the FAQ and rules before playing. Characters have all woken at the bottom of the well in the middle of the town (which seems a lot bigger on the inside, somehow), and it looks like they'll have to put in some work to get out.

ou wake in knee-deep water, cold as ice and stagnant, in a space that is far too echoey and spacious. It feels like a massive cave, but looking up... there's only one small, circular opening that shows grey sky and shines any sort of light.
3
Don't worry about it. [ He offers a smile, a charming attempt despite the water dripping from his shaggy bangs. Looking a bit like a wet dog, he's sure. ] One light bump after being confined in such a crowded space like we were earlier... It almost feels like a refreshing change of pace, haha!

[ Still, his concern is ever prevalent, even if Akechi tried to convince him he was okay. This time, of course, for new reason. ]
Aren't you cold? You could catch something if you're not careful...
[ Caramia's face lights up for a brief moment, and if you squint really hard you could probably even see the little idea light bulb above his head. Okay, not really, but he uncoiled the coat he'd been hugging to drape around the stranger's shoulders. It wasn't dry by any means, but it wasn't really wet anymore, either, so it provided a good bit of warmth. ]
Ah, here! It won't do a great job since it's still a little damp, but I dried it off the best I could, so it should help some. At least until you're able to dry off.

[ Contrary to the sudden warmth around his shoulders, Akechi is frozen to his spot, utterly disarmed. Did a complete stranger - an adult, no less - show him compassion for no reason other than maybe some mild-at-best feelings of guilt over having bumped into him? Was he really willing to part with his only possession, if only momentarily, out of genuine concern for some nobody kid who just happened to cross his way?
... what the hell kind of stupidity is this? ]
I... [ He falters for a second longer, but somehow manages to regain some of his composure. ] I appreciate the gesture, but I don't think I can accept this.
[ And yet, he makes no motion to remove the coat, either. Is he still stunned out of action or does he just not want to give it up...? ]
Can't believe his own son thinks he's stupid smh.
Don't worry about it, signore. I've had a little help back in the center of town to dry off, so this is the very least I can do to help. You can return it to me once you're not dripping anymore, okay?
[ As if to emphasize, he reached his hand up to brush aside Akechi's wet bangs. Not that it would help too much, but not having water constantly dripping down your nose had to be something. ]
I was honestly going to have a look around to see if I could find some blankets or something of the sort anyway. Would you like to join me?
only because he was taught adults don't care for free!
But it doesn't feel wrong, either. ]
... Thank you. [ He finally concedes, though he hasn't quite given upon figuring out this mystery. Is this guy really being genuine, or is he just grooming Akechi for his potential? Or maybe it's just a culture clash? He did call Akechi "signore" right? ]
I suppose I could, at least so I can return this to you later. [ He fixes the coat over his shoulders to make a point-- and also to make himself comfier. He may be still suspicious but this is... not bad. ] I'm Akechi, by the way.
He's never even SEEN Free! Akechi PLS
Caramia. I would've liked for us to meet under better circumstance, but it's nice to meet you all the same.
[ And with that, Caramia's already looking around at the buildings. ]
Have you been inside any of these yet? Can't say I'm too thrilled at the thought. They seem like they'd fall apart any second now, but... [ He only finishes that thought with a vague gesture of his hand. As bright as he may have been, he really didn't like the thought of not knowing what the hell was going on. ]
WOW
I have, actually. [ The change of topic is welcome, both because that means treading territory he's more comfortable with, and because it gives him a chance to show off, just a little. ] Not these ones in particular, but I have ventured into what seems to have been a residential area at some point. It's true they look as though they might crumble at any moment, but... I suppose I could not call myself much of a detective if I weren't drawn to a little danger, haha.
[ And it should be fairly obvious, but he is only a teenager, still. Are you impressed yet? ]
I'm so sorry Akechi
[ That seems to be all he's pulling from that bit of information. Nevermind the fact that Akechi went answering a question. This was the part Caramia was sticking with. Congrats, buddy, you've definitely impressed your dad.
Also, he's being touchy again (sorry, Akechi), reaching forward to take both of Akechi's hands in his own to look at him with big,
sparklyexcited eyes. ]That's amazing, signore. My consigliere would (probably) like to meet you!
he loves the attention though!
... on the other hand, he certainly wasn't built to handle excessive attention like that, not from someone he had just barely met, and with a wholly casual approach about physical contact. It's not a bad feeling, by any means, but it is certainly... disorienting. Something he doesn't have a practiced reaction for. ]
A-ah, I'm just a rookie detective, actually, so I'm not sure it would make for a thrilling introduction. [ He finally replies after another second or two of completely blanking out. ] However, if your consigliere happens to be here as well, I would be happy to meet them.
There's just so much.
Caramia shakes his head at the word "rookie". He is still young so it isn't as if Caramia was expecting him to be The Best of the Best or anything. ]
Please, that's still fascinating in it's own right, detective. No need to make it sound like it's nothing big. You should always be proud of your accomplishments.
he'll get used to it... maybe...
(There's also the fact he can't tell how Caramia would react. Could he even get more effusive?) ]
Oh, please, just Akechi is fine. [ No "detective" needed, he means. ] And it's not that I'm not proud of my accomplishments-- not many people my age get the chance to pay for their own education with a job such as mine. The best most teenagers can aspire to is to work several part-time jobs just to earn some extra spending money.
[ You know, some loser teenagers who can't be this awesome. Is that proud enough to you, Caramia? ]
Good luck, fam
Don't test it, Akechi.)Despite his words being fine in their own regards, Caramia's smile falls anyway. Just a tad, at first, then more to something that seems decidedly somber than the bright, proud grins from before. While Caramia understands that they all had lives to get back to, it is still a bit of a slap in the face to be really aware of that fact. ]
Right, you're... [ Just a teenager. He shouldn't be having to deal with... any of this. ] ...We're just going to have to get you home faster, then! I'm sure something will show up in no time. [ He hopes, at least. He even gives Akechi's hands what Caramia hopes is a reassuring squeeze, seeing as this idiot was still holding them
and totally for a logical reason besides Rubie forgetting that happened in the first place because she has the memory of a dead gnat because Rubie would never do thatbefore dropping his hands down to his sides again. ]no subject
