Intro Log.
![]() | |
Pussy's in the well. Who put her in? Little Johnny Thin. Who pulled her out? Little Tommy Stout. What a naughty boy was that, To try to drown poor pussy cat, Who never did him any harm, But killed all the mice in the farmer's barn.
Welcome to Awash's first intro log, everyone! Please review the FAQ and rules before playing. Characters have all woken at the bottom of the well in the middle of the town (which seems a lot bigger on the inside, somehow), and it looks like they'll have to put in some work to get out.

ou wake in knee-deep water, cold as ice and stagnant, in a space that is far too echoey and spacious. It feels like a massive cave, but looking up... there's only one small, circular opening that shows grey sky and shines any sort of light.

[For some reason, he's watching Dave expectantly...]

A PAUSE, BEFORE: ]
...Am I the princess in this scenario?
no subject
[So.
So, yes. Absolutely.]
no subject
shit
okay give him a second and he breaks out the first animal song to come to mind?
unfortunately that song is this.
so it's just rap in dave's softer texan voice? he can actually sing, aND YET he is doing this instead. ]

[what is this
what
WILL THIS ATTRACT ANIMALS????]
no subject
PROBABLY NOT VERY MUCH but maybe a mutant bird will come down to go what the actual fuck are you idiots doing ]
no subject
... I don't think whatever animal may be attracted by that music lives here.
[Yusuke will say after... a bit.]
no subject
[ have they really... ]
no subject
[HMM he frowns.] I am no expert on music, but perhaps they would find something more smooth and melodic appealing.
[...] Or else, food.

Animals may not be so choosy.

[ dave r u bitter ]

I suppose it's the difference between needing food to survive.
[Very seriously.]

[LOOKS AT DAVE SOLEMNLY bc he's not sure it's a medical condition but it sounds a little how he feels about art.]
That seems quite serious. I suppose art for me is similar, I cannot imagine going on long without being an artist...
no subject
You're an artist? You got any of your work with you??
no subject
[Unhesitatingly flipping the bag on one shoulder to his front to produce a sketchbook.] This is all, I'm afraid. But I wouldn't have been pleased if a canvas had been with me when I was in that well.
[He sniffs and flips open the sketchbook to offer it to Dave.
There's a multitude of things... still life, moving life, definitely abstract sketches and concepts, though it's a relatively new sketchbook so there's not much yet.]
no subject
So you paint, too?
no subject
I do. And I am always interested in learning and exploring other mediums of art.
no subject
[ he finds he actually misses it, especially after seeing some of his early (stupid) attempts again.
he flips another page, and he's careful to turn by the edges and not touch the sketches themselves. ]
no subject
[It's nice to talk to a fellow artist and Yusuke's pretty obviously interested in the use of unfamiliar mediums.]

[He nods emphatically.]
I highly doubt perfection even exists. It is all a manner of perspective. Someone may think what you make is perfect, but the next person may not think so in the least. Same with yourself--the perfect to your past self will be different from the perfect for your future self.
That is what makes making and consuming any kind of art so fascinating.
