Pussy's in the well. Who put her in? Little Johnny Thin. Who pulled her out? Little Tommy Stout. What a naughty boy was that, To try to drown poor pussy cat, Who never did him any harm, But killed all the mice in the farmer's barn.
Welcome to Awash's first intro log, everyone! Please review the FAQ and rules before playing. Characters have all woken at the bottom of the well in the middle of the town (which seems a lot bigger on the inside, somehow), and it looks like they'll have to put in some work to get out.

ou wake in knee-deep water, cold as ice and stagnant, in a space that is far too echoey and spacious. It feels like a massive cave, but looking up... there's only one small, circular opening that shows grey sky and shines any sort of light.
no subject
Yeah, dude. I used to play ninja all the time.
[Which is a little different, technically, but he's confident in his ability to get up the wall.]
no subject
[Keith will give the kid the benefit of the doubt that he knows what he's doing. He moves closer, crouching down and interlacing his fingers, giving the kid a place to put his foot.]
Get your balance. Count of three I hoist and you reach. I'll give you a platform as long as I can reach. Sound good?
[Just gonna fling a kid at the side of a well. This is fine right?]
no subject
[He'll possibly come to regret this later, but he has to make an effort to try. Kyle rests a hand on Keith's shoulder as he steps onto his hands. He's got this. He can do this. Totally.]
Okay. [He gets himself properly balanced, and glances up at the well wall. There's got to be something he can reach.] I'm good. Let's do this.
no subject
[Keith waits for the kid to have his balance, glances at him briefly.]
One... [He tenses, braces himself to get ready to boost Kyle up,] Two...
Three! [And with that he lifts, a significant shove upwards, though he makes sure to keep his hands braced against the boy's foot and not just flinging him.]
no subject
I got something. It seems like it's just one brick, but if I can find more, I might be able to climb up.
[He can climb up a rope in gym, this can't be much different.]
no subject
If you've got a good grip, I can give you a few more inches.
[Maybe that'll open up another hand hold or something. Keith is watching, eyes of his mask glowing from the dimness of the well.]
no subject
Yeah, go for it. I'll see if I can find another to grab.
[And as soon as he's pushed up a little more, he'll start reaching out with one of his hands.]
no subject
[And with that he hoists Kyle up a few more inches. Really, it's full on cheerleader style is what it is. Keith is just choosing to not think of it like that.]
Got anything?
no subject
Kyle reaches out with one of his hands, feeling out the surface of the wall for anything he can grip. He almost wants to celebrate when he does--but there's a long way to go, and he's more than aware of that.]
Yeah! I got something. It's a bit higher too, so if there's more I should be able to climb up.
[It'll be a lot easier once he can get some of the ledges under his feet.]
You can let go now. I'm ready.
no subject
But he releases Kyle's foot so that the kid can scramble. For now Keith will stand below and watch.
Just in case the kid's ninja skills fail him.]
Go for it.
no subject
After about ten feet, he looks up, realizing he still has quite a ways to go, then back down.]
At what point do I have to worry about dying if I fall?
no subject
[Helpful and reassuring, Keith. He's a kid. Come on. But Keith adds,] Don't worry about it and don't look down. If you fall, I'll catch you, okay? Just keep going. One handhold at a time.
[And he will do his best to catch him if he slips. He's not just going to let a kid fall and get himself killed or break a leg or something. No way.]
