[OPEN] Flower gleam and glow

WHO: Everyone in the Town
WHERE: The community garden(s)
WHEN: Anytime in August
WHAT: Flower crowns! Teach each other to make flower crowns, exchange them with each other, succeed in questing
WARNINGS: No

[At any point during the month you may come across the community gardens in the Town and see a couple of different set-ups.

For one thing, someone created a sign painted with purple paint that reads "FLOWER CROWNS HERE."

For another thing, there are bushels and bouquets of different kinds of plants and flowers that have their color restored that have been gathered.

And finally, there are smaller slips of paper that read "RED", "YELLOW", and "BLUE."

At least once a day people passing by the garden will find John sitting there and monitoring the situation. Anyone who approaches will be greeted with a large grin and a wave.]

You saw the forum, right? I thought we could all make this a little easier on each other.

[Grab some flowers and some friends! Questing has never been so easy.]

[ooc: Hello! For ease of use to complete quest 23, this is an open log that people can consolidate and thread with each other! Please feel free to label in the subject what color your character is, thread out making and gifting crowns to each other, and have fun!]

[Ochako was, in fact, just about to lean over to offer a bit of advice, but clearly Elizabeth is determined to get it on her own. Admirable!! She focuses back down on her own braid, pleased.]

That's the right idea! If you make a mistake, you just have to take a breath and try it all over again. It's the best way to learn.

[Some people just get so darn frustrated. It's understandable, she supposes, but she can't help but to prefer the people who give it their all without complaint. Kindred spirits... she likes Elizabeth already.]

Plus it looks like you're picking everything up really quickly! You'll be a master in no time.

[ It's certainly mutual, since Elizabeth is grateful that Ochako is content to let her learn it on her own. Not everyone is, so she also gets the sense that they might be similar in that respect. So she nods, muttering a right as she works to carefully begin weaving things again, but her encouragement does get her smile to shift to be a little more playful. ]

Well, I don't need to be a master... But I'd like to make something nice to give to the people I've met here.

[ She pauses momentarily to focus on the weaving, but she continues without missing much of a beat: ]

It's a nice quest, in that way, I think. It said that you need to give them to the "worthy," but I think everyone I've met here would be.

I totally agree! It's like—

[Hmm. Ochako leans forward to grab a few more flowers, using these few seconds to think of how, exactly, to word this.]

We were brought here from all kinds of different places, but no one seems... mad? I mean, some people are mad, [she hurriedly amends,] and some people are sad, too, but no one takes it out on anyone else. We all work together really well!

[Quests come to mind, but do does... just helping one another on a daily basis? Foraging for food, fixing up the town, setting off on exploration missions— people want to help, and that's what makes her smile. The town of Chroma is quite possibly the weirdest family of all time? But it works! It somehow works.]

[ It's a phenomenon that Elizabeth had noticed too, and hearing it put to words is all the better. Considering her own... unique view of the world, she often second-guesses herself when it comes to how she views other people. Is this what people are normally like? Or is this extraordinary? That sort of thing. So it's a little comforting to have her own guess confirmed. ]

Right? It's-- I've never been in a situation like this, but this still feels impressive for that fact alone. Even when bad things happen, it doesn't feel too bad. We're not alone.

[ That's always the point for her, after all. Even when she'd be reminded of her own isolation, of the threat that Columbia could fly overhead with any cloud, there had been other, kind people there for her. She wouldn't trade that for the world. ]

But I'm glad for the mad and sad people too. [ She shrugs with a little laugh ] They're the ones most likely to figure out how we can leave, right?
