[At any point during the month you may come across the community gardens in the Town and see a couple of different set-ups.

For one thing, someone created a sign painted with purple paint that reads "FLOWER CROWNS HERE."

For another thing, there are bushels and bouquets of different kinds of plants and flowers that have their color restored that have been gathered.

And finally, there are smaller slips of paper that read "RED", "YELLOW", and "BLUE."

At least once a day people passing by the garden will find John sitting there and monitoring the situation. Anyone who approaches will be greeted with a large grin and a wave.]

You saw the forum, right? I thought we could all make this a little easier on each other.

It... is a tad more difficult than one would think.

It happens when you're working with something delicate like flowers, I guess. Even the simple quests are a challenge for most of us. [He probably shouldn't ask, but.] Want some help?

[Bites her lower lip, hard, before replying.]

I... wouldn't mind... some assistance.

[He's a lot more partial to people who at least can admit it and won't argue, so points to Maribelle. As it is, he settles with his own pile of crowns and extra flowers to start fresh.]

What part are you struggling with most?

Starting it.

[Everything. she's struggling with everything.]

Got it. [He's still trying not to laugh, but he can understand the struggles well enough.] Starting isn't so hard as long as you know how to make a good base so the whole thing doesn't collapse and break in your hands.

...what's the most flexible flower you have on-hand right now?

[She sighs, mostly relenting for now.]

Lavender, I believe...

Should be easy. [Lavender can't be too complicated to deal with and so he picks up a handful of flowers and keeps them in his hands to make sure his movements are visible.] You just have to intertwine them so that they're the foundation. It's easier to thread other flowers into the crown when it's made instead of using the bigger blooms and stiffer stems that won't bend.

[He's busy braiding the flowers together as he's talking because he likes doing multiple things.]

[Okay but when you do that YOU LOOK LIKE YOU'RE SHOWING OFF.]

... You've done this a lot back home, I take it?

[Sometimes there are advantages of constant fidgeting. Sorry about him. There's a shrug at the question though.]

Lanyards and some other projects but we have a mandatory arts and crafts schedule at Camp, so...I picked up some stuff. Plus a few tricks from being on the road a lot.

... Arts and crafts are mandatory?

Yeah. [They absolutely are not and Percy's just letting people believe they are.] Usually it's a free period in our day but it gets filled with arts and crafts. Lanyards are on the low-end of stuff. [Maybe he shouldn't mention what the high-end projects are...]

... I have so many questions, yet I'm not sure if I want the answers.

[There's a slight smirk.] That's usually what people say. But it's a training camp, so it's maybe not that surprising.

Training for what?

[She said she didn't want to know, yet there she goes.]

Quests. Wars. Whatever the gods want us to do? Typical stuff.

... And this requires. Mandatory crafts.

[She's suspecting you're a liar.]

Usually for things like weapon-making, but yeah. It keeps us busy.

All right, then that makes slightly more sense.

[Kids training for war? Yeah, she gets that.]

I figured it would. [A shrug. He's still working with his crown but the base is almost down allowing him to glance at Maribelle to see if she's made progress.] It's a training camp, so pretty much everything we learn there is supposed to help us survive outside of the barrier. I can't say it always works, but I've lived longer than people expected me to so...

A barrier? What do you mean?

[her progress is slow, but steady!]

Camp's surrounded by an invisible barrier so we aren't attacked by monsters all the time. Kind of hard to get anything done if you're constantly outrunning or fighting stuff. [There's a few quick movements of his hand to tie off the base of the crown and he starts weaving some other flowers in.] Usually in the mortal world we're easy for them to track which kind of sucks.

My word, the magic in your world sounds so far advanced than mine!

[She's a little jealous.]

Oh yeah? [He doesn't exactly explain why that is just yet.] What's it like where you're from then? [It's much easier to thread together flowers through the base so that they stay in a circular formation.]

Well, for starters, we don't have gigantic magic shields that can keep monsters away! Life would be far easier if such a thing existed.
