[OPEN] Flower gleam and glow

WHO: Everyone in the Town
WHERE: The community garden(s)

WHAT: Flower crowns! Teach each other to make flower crowns, exchange them with each other, succeed in questing
WARNINGS: No

[At any point during the month you may come across the community gardens in the Town and see a couple of different set-ups.

For one thing, someone created a sign painted with purple paint that reads "FLOWER CROWNS HERE."

For another thing, there are bushels and bouquets of different kinds of plants and flowers that have their color restored that have been gathered.

And finally, there are smaller slips of paper that read "RED", "YELLOW", and "BLUE."

At least once a day people passing by the garden will find John sitting there and monitoring the situation. Anyone who approaches will be greeted with a large grin and a wave.]

You saw the forum, right? I thought we could all make this a little easier on each other.

[Grab some flowers and some friends! Questing has never been so easy.]

[“You’d better” is on the tip of her tongue but she really is no longer feeling all that defensive, especially not when she’s finally located what looks to her to be the best one out of the flower crowns that she’s made.

Then he has to go and say something like that and she nearly crushes the flowers. Why is he like this...

Rallying because she’s the Cool and Cute one even when she’s bright red at this point, she reaches out to tug at his sleeve.]

Here. Sit. [So she could put that flower crown on him.]

[Sorry, Shiho... sorry. He's not even aware of how badly that's flustered her, even though she's bright red... he's the worst.

But obediently, he does sit, folding down to sit cross-legged in front of her.

Flower crown away...!!]

[Minato, please at least notice when you’re being embarrassing, gosh]

Once he’s close enough she leans in to plop the flower crown on his head, adjusting it so it sits straight.

....There. [Now he’s worthy! Or something.] It looks good on you, too.

[Worthy, huh... that's not something he'd ever really think when it comes to himself, but--

This is fine. He lifts his head when she's done adjusting the flower crown, quietly reaching up to touch the crown gently.

And then he smiles a little.]

Really? That's a surprise... [Minato, please.]

I'm glad it suits me, though. I'd like to leave it on for awhile, after all. [Gifts from friends are very, very precious things that he absolutely wants to treasure.]

If you asked Kaoru-chan she’d probably say that flower crowns look good on everyone. [Ergo it should’t come as a surprise to him at all??]

And you can, if you want. It’s not like anyone’s going to stop you. [She’s going to wear hers for a while too, though after that it’s going somewhere safe in her room.] Everyone else is wearing at least one.

[Well...!! It's still a bit of a surprise, okay...He wasn't expecting it to suit him at all.]

That's true. In that case, I guess I'll keep wearing it. Thank you, Sannomiya-san--I really appreciate it.

[Trying not to smile too much but she definitely still looks happy about it. It looks nice, and it looks nice on him. Also he thanked her.]

[It's always good to see Shiho looking happy, honestly--that just makes this even better.

... "Worthy", huh...? Maybe it's good they're both worthy to the other.]

It's nice, isn't it? Doing something like this all together with everyone. It's...peaceful.

...It is. [It really is nice, no one is getting hurt and it’s just so positive.]

Better than werewolves, right? But the heists and the unicorns were kind of fun.

[Minato just leans back on his hands to look out at the people mingling around the flowers, expression content.]

... I like these quests the best. The ones that seem to be around to help us get to know each other better.

[Never let her know it was embarrassing or she'll try and get it out of him.]

True. [And that's a nice expression he has right now. Seeing it Shiho can't help but to smile even though she turns as she does to look out at all the people wandering about.]

It would be nice if they were all like this. Maybe we should make a suggestion or something. Kaoru-chan was saying how we could ask someone to make us a virus to send to Mr. F, if it works maybe we can just fill up his inbox with requests like this.

[He's not ready for her to learn that one, for now he should be grateful for his poker face, clearly.]

Ha... filling up his PMs with requests and the money goose and stuff like that? I'd be up for that.

[He stretches, yawning a little. It's peaceful and the sun is warm and that tends to make him sleepy.]

If he gets enough of them, he'll have to listen, right?

We have to get the virus first. But even he can’t ignore a whole flock of money geese and requests, right? [All she has to do is go and contact that guy who built the robot. Surely if he could do that, he could manage a virus? (Shiho doesn’t know anything about this kind of thing so who knows how this’ll turn out.)]

Or at least it’ll help keep him up at night. All night. [Hearing that yawn though has her turning back to him.] Sleepy?

[Minato's knowledge of technology is pretty basic 90s teen, so....he's got nothing too. Best to leave it to Shiho and her connections, as with many things.

He just kind of...yawns again (contagious, so contagious) and then flops back to lie on the ground.]

It's the sun... it makes me sleepy. [Spoilers: many things make him sleepy.] Though it's nice to sit in the sun...when it's warm.

Are you a cat or something? [But Shiho is laughing anyway as she plucks another flower from her pile and starts on a new flower crown.]

Should I lend you my shoulder? [She’s joking? Probably? But he did let her sleep on him that time they first met so think of it as paying it back.]

[He could be a lazy cat... eating and sleeping are the best things in life and he won't deny it. He flashes her a look that's lazily amused, prepared to say just that when...she offers up that suggestion.

He's surprised, but...he kind of gets the feeling she'd get flustered if he questioned it. She could very well be joking and teasing him, but...if she's not, he doesn't want her to think that he's shying away from her touch now, after everything.

... Okay, also, he just thinks it sounds way more comfortable to nap on someone than on the ground, so sue him.]

Hm... okay then. If you don't mind, I'll accept. [Such easy agreement!! Now what, Shiho...]

[She’s flustered anyway when he takes her up on that offer.

But at the same time she isn’t the type to just back out on something she’d already said she would do. That would be showing fear and fear is weakness.]

Here, then. [She reaches up with one hand to tap her shoulder, trying and failing not to look to embarrassed about this.]

[Shiho...... if he knew how seriously she was taking this, he'd take it back--but only one of the two of them can read minds here, so for better or for worse, he's oblivious. Instead, she taps her shoulder, expression embarrassed but set enough that he believes she's serious about it, and...so he nods.

And then he'll sit up, carefully shifting to sit by her side instead of a little bit away, and...leans, slowly enough that she'll be able to move if she really wants to, until his cheek is resting against her shoulder, their arms pressed together pretty warmly.

It is...actually surprisingly cozy like this, now that he's in this position. He's not really used to this level of closeness with other people--never really had much of a chance for it, really--but...the more he experiences things like this, the more he realizes he's... really grateful for it.]

[And if she didn’t usually have a strict no-reading-her-friends policy, she would have asked him why he felt grateful for something like this. But she hasn’t known him for ten years like she has Kaoru so she simply lets him rest against her shoulder, nervous that she might jostle him or something.

But bit by bit she does relax (once she realizes she’s being way too tense and nervous about this) and the fact that she’ll definitely let him sleep here as long as he wants is proof enough that she’s all bark and no bite.]

...Comfy? [She also doesn’t know why she’s whispering but he’s so close and talking too loud seems even more out of place. Someone come and help her.]

[He hadn't realized quite how tense she was until she relaxes properly, but...if she's relaxing, then it's fine, right? He's not going to think too hard on it right now when she seems fine and he...really is sleepy.

Someone should probably come help Shiho, but until then!! He actually seems quite comfortable like this. Maybe too comfortable considering the situation, but Shiho is his friend and he has always been stupidly adaptable.]

Mm... yes. [There is honestly no good way to say "you make for a good pillow", but he's sure going to try!!] It's very comfortable being around you, Sannomiya-san. It's nice.

[It’s fine once Shiho relaxes and by that point she can admit that this is actually really nice. Also Minato seems comfortable like this which to her is the most important thing of all.]

People don’t usually tell me that so... thanks.

[She smiles (mostly to herself) as she picks up flowers and starts to make a new crown as she speaks.]

[He can't imagine why people wouldn't tell Shiho that--as far as he's concerned, she's a very calming presence. But then, maybe that's just because they're friends; of course they're comfortable together.

So he just hums a soft response, something gently contented...and then he'll just prove that he's entirely comfortable by dozing off against her.

Thanks for being a good pillow, Shiho.]

[Probably because a lot of them find Shiho terrifying which is usually just the way she likes it. (Then again Aoi and Kaoru do find her comfortable to be around so that’s also all that matters to her in the long run.)

Shiho lets him doze, only ever touching his hand gently to make sure he isn’t going to get a crick in his neck from sleeping, amassing a truly scary amount of flower crowns while she waits for him to wake up again.]
