WHAT: Flower crowns! Teach each other to make flower crowns, exchange them with each other, succeed in questing

[At any point during the month you may come across the community gardens in the Town and see a couple of different set-ups.

For one thing, someone created a sign painted with purple paint that reads "FLOWER CROWNS HERE."

For another thing, there are bushels and bouquets of different kinds of plants and flowers that have their color restored that have been gathered.

And finally, there are smaller slips of paper that read "RED", "YELLOW", and "BLUE."

At least once a day people passing by the garden will find John sitting there and monitoring the situation. Anyone who approaches will be greeted with a large grin and a wave.]

You saw the forum, right? I thought we could all make this a little easier on each other.

It took me about ten tries and Ochako-chan's guidance to make one even half that pretty! So it's kind of a shame to just leave it there and not claim responsibility for it...

At this point though Shiho’s already gone past flattered and back to embarrassed. Thank goodness she never saw all the ones that Shiho deemed unfit. They’re probably in the forest somewhere or down the well for Kaoru’s “Goodbye Kirishima” tribute.]

Just because I made it doesn’t mean I need to claim responsibility for it. Besides... it doesn’t matter if it’s pretty or not. It’s... the thought you put... in... it?

Not that it's any of my business, though, but you're sure you don't just want to give someone a flower crown yourself? It's a really nice feeling, seeing them happy.

[Shiho had thought that Maya should thank her for something that is basically trying to be a compliment. But actually getting thanked for it is much worse??]

Don’t thank me for that. And I don’t want to. Seeing them happy... that’s... that’s not even a part of the requirements for doing this. [Never mind that she knows it’s nice to feel liked, to feel worthy.]

I don't think it necessarily has to be a part of anything. If you're already making crowns for people you think are worthy, I'd say you're close to them. And if that's the case, then seeing them happy is just a natural part of giving them a gift.

It’s... conceited though, isn’t it? Assuming they’d like it, assuming they’d be happy. [And she’s lied to a lot of people here about what she is, so even then the happiness would be built upon a lie, she thinks.

That and giving anything to Minato and Dex was just inherently embarrassing because sincere people are the worst.]

Of course not. Who would go around giving stuff like this to people they don’t even know? [Shiho might, actually. If they looked sad enough and lonely enough.

But she’s never going to admit to that either so it’s a moot point.]

Then think of it this way. These are - presumably - people who care about you, who you also care about. Based on what you know of them, do you think they'd really be that troubled receiving something that tells them they're worthy to you?

You don't have to. I think your intentions will get across just fine, but I also think you should give them the chance to know who did this for them. Otherwise, that's just another form of assumption.

But........ what if they don’t like it after? I haven’t exactly been honest with all of them. About some pretty important things.

[ Sometimes Maya remembers that she is, in fact, an adult and is capable of saying sensible things. Sometimes. ]

We've all got things we're not entirely comfortable with sharing about ourselves. [ Y E P. ] So I'm not saying you should feel like you have to tell them everything if you're not feeling up to it. Whatever it is, though-- by now, I'm sure your friends have seen more than you might have wanted them too. And they've been by your side this long...

So there's no guarantee that it won't be okay in the end.

[Sometimes Shiho forgets that she can trust people without having spent ten plus years with them and gone through life and death situations. She forgets that there are adults she can count on. Maya reminds her of this and a part of her is kind of ashamed she’d needed to be reminded at all.

...No. You.... what you said actually does make sense. [Which she’ll give to her begrudgingly.] I guess I’m just worried. And I kind of liked sneaking around too.

... I can't really deny that it'd be really fun to be a flower crown ninja if I thought I was capable of it, but I'm more the "crash lands into things" kind of person.

[ yeeeah. Or "sprints headlong into things". ]

And if that's your reason, that's fine. But if it's because you think your friends will have a problem with knowing these crowns were from you, then... well, I hope they prove you wrong.

A flower crown ninja, huh... [That’s kind of pure coming from this person who was likely older than her.

And actually that sounds exactly like something Kaoru would be up for, knowing her. Shiho? She’d rather be a normal ninja in a cute outfit.]

And what kind of other reason would I have? It’s just flower crowns, it’s not that suspicious... [Though she hopes that what Maya said would be true too. She wants them to prove her wrong.]

[ Maya is a pure kind of adult when it doesn't involve "whoopass time". ]
