[ It's only taken a few days to realize what's going on in the woods. Because Maya is a journalist and journalists are all about gathering information, she's half-tempted to check out the woods herself. But her arm is only newly out of its sling, so she's opting not to go charge into The Pit herself.

Instead, if you exit the woods, and you look as though your ass has been thoroughly kicked, you'll find this young woman waving an arm over her head to get your attention. ]

[ Good random day of August, person who Maya happens to familiar with! Or maybe she has no idea who you are, that might actually be a real possibility. But all the same, she's grinning at you and extending an arm, on which is draped no less than eight flower crowns of varying designs. ]

Take your pick! Free of charge, of course! One of these really has to bring out your eyes, right?


[ DON'T DO THE CINNAMON CHALLENGE - OPEN ]

[ Look... just. Look. She got a crate full of blue cinnamon, and now she's wandering around with her arms full of jars of the stuff, smiling wryly when she makes eye contact. ]

So I know it's not as great as fish or chicken or whatever most people ended up with, but if you want a sweet seasoning, I'd totally be willing to part with a jar!

... I see. So basically, I should set up camp here.

[ Well, she has no other pressing plans. Why not? Maya isn't even bothering to suggest that she doesn't fight at all, but that's because this is Maya, and she's someone who's had to use fighting and/or property destruction to solve problems. ]

[Fighting and property destruction are the best ways to solve problems, Okuni approves.]

It's not like you have to. I can easily win even with injuries! I have a very high threshold for pain.

But for now, she turns around and starts to head off without even a single goodbye?? okuni being rude as always.

[SCOOTS CLOSER TO MAYA!! there is like visible frost on the edges of her clothes, and she's looking pale from having been frozen in an ice block but noNE OF HER LIMBS ARE GROWING BLUE OR BLACK thank goodness for small blessings

but she's still shivering way too much for a normal person]

I lost, but it's not my fault! It's not like I could move when I'm completely frozen!

[ holds out her arms because right now, Maya is absolutely warm. ]

Okay, okay. Come here for a sec, let's solve the frozen problem first.

Okuni would stop, drop and roll at this POSSIBLE HUG but Okuni is a fool who thinks Maya will just do more magic with her arms akimbo like that so she totally keeps on scooting in closer until she's well in range.]

[ Nope! SHE'S GONNA HUG. And she's nice and warm, if Okuni doesn't actually burst into flame at human contact. ]

But I don't just hug people for no good reason! This was an act of goodwill!

That’s even worse! [okuni.... look GOODWILL SCARES HER, as it does all punks] I thought you were going to use magic to make me warm again! This is really sneaky of you.

[ Said the person who held her arms out, broadcasting that this was probably going to be a hug. ]

it's Okuni's fault in the end though, she feels that keenly... which is why once she is warm enough, she finally tries slithering out of Maya's arms like an eel.]

Okay, okay-- you definitely seem a lot warmer now.

[ And she's kind enough to release her so Okuni no longer has to impersonate anything long and slippery. ]

Goodwill or not, be a little more careful next time... Someone less gracious than I am could have sent you flying into a tree...!
