he Town is quiet this week. No sudden quests on the forum post, no roars of werewolves in the distance... just peaceful, peaceful quiet. Of course, it's hot as hell right now, but that aside, it's pretty pleasant. You probably don't want to wander around the Town right now, but... Naturally, now's when the Town is going to start thoroughly encouraging you to do just that. You do want to find your doorway back home, don't you? Better get searching! [Not many people do, it seems. But that’s the nature of different worlds, like how some people had initially thought Kaoru’s power was flight. Minamoto would probably do a better job at explaining all this since this had been his field of expertise and all but she’ll make an attempt anyway.]

I can read any object or any person and basically see anything they know or anything that happened to them. If you spoke a different language than I did, I could communicate with you at the same level by using psychometry just like this. If I borrowed a sword from someone, I could use it at their same level. If I was a doctor, I could use it to give patients check-ups.

I used it like that once. That time you drank poison. [Her tone is still light and teasing even though at the time she really had been very worried. Please stop drinking strange things, Minato.]

On the other hand, she comes right out with that statement, and Minato can roll with a lot, but he's definitely left blinking at that one for a moment.

She'll...protect him?

As it sinks in, his lips curve into a small, grateful smile.]

... I believe you. [He has full faith that she will do exactly that, because he's pretty sure she can do anything she puts her mind to--she's that sort of person, right?] So... I'll definitely count on you. But... let me protect you too, okay? [In whatever way she might ever need him to.]

[Letting other people protect her has always been something difficult for her to do.

Using them as shields though? Easy. It was when she had to trust them, when she had to believe that they would have her back that she had difficulty. He could get hurt because of her.

But holding hands like this means she knows he believes in her and when he’s shown himself willing to trust her, it’s only fair for her to give him that same courtesy.

Besides, he had thought she was sweet and just for a compliment like that she’s willing to try.]
