Well! ... You and me went off on our exams and everything was fine for the most part. Except at the end, we got caught up in this nightmare trap that Xehanort set up ... [Sora looks off towards the water, looking a little distant.]
It was just my nightmare. I couldn't keep the darkness back in the end and they trapped me in there. Organization XIII was trying to take my body so that Xehanort could use it. I almost didn't make it.
[Ha ... What a story.]

Staying quiet, he knows that something about this story must be hard for Sora. It's best to let him say what he wants and needs to get out without interruption.
But that last part has him react. The hands in his lap turn into white knuckles fists, nails digging into the skin of his palms. Heart racing. There's a certain amount of relief in knowing that his best friend survived, but Riku's mad.]
Guess they couldn't use me for whatever reason... so they went after you. [He gaze is hard, but not directed towards Sora.]
...But wait. You defeated them all? And why would he need a body?

[Riku is too strong, too used to the darkness. He couldn't be manipulated with it anymore. But Sora? He has so little experience with that much overpowering darkness that...
He swallows a bit and a hand reaches out to pat over Riku's clenched fist gently. Pat-pat. Sora manages another smile.]
It wasn't me that got through them all. It was you, the King and Lea-- ... Axel. [That's probably another shocker for Riku.]
And who knows why he needed me so bad. Probably because he's old and falling apart...

When Sora reaches out to him, some of the tension is released from his face. Closing his eyes and quietly sighing, he manages to subside some of the rising emotions by the time he opens his eyes again.]
...You realize this generates more questions than answers, right? [His usual smirk is back. Well it does answer why he's suddenly scared of the dark. But as for the future? There's so many unknowns.]
...Axel? How did he come back? I thought Nobodies just disappeared...
[He flips his hand over just before Sora pats it again, so he can grab at his friend's hand and just hold onto it. Giving it a bit of a squeeze.]

[Sora decides to scoot a little closer, dropping his head to Riku's shoulder. He hopes that's okay. Sora just feels better when he can be close. Like Riku isn't going to go away.]
Axel somehow got his real heart back. So, he's Lea now. And he has a keyblade. It's actually really cool.
[Yeah, he realizes he's adding more questions to the pile but he's trying his best.]
