he Town is quiet this week. No sudden quests on the forum post, no roars of werewolves in the distance... just peaceful, peaceful quiet. Of course, it's hot as hell right now, but that aside, it's pretty pleasant. You probably don't want to wander around the Town right now, but... Naturally, now's when the Town is going to start thoroughly encouraging you to do just that. You do want to find your doorway back home, don't you? Better get searching! [Okuni reaches out to stop the spinning globe, a little more thoughtful now compared to her sheer confusion earlier. That... still doesn't make any sense on a rational level, but it would explain some things? She thinks... She'd been passing those differences off as just unexplored possibilities from her own world. So what if she's never seen a tsukumogami before back home, it's not as if she's seen the whole world.]

Mm, it sounds like a made-up story, but... [BUT it's not as if she's ever actually asked anyone about their home yet. Perhaps there were differences there that could only come from another world.] You've already told me a lot of impossible-sounding things.

[And Mutsu doesn't seem like the type who'd play the long con?? for what purpose anyway??]

The Sakamoto-san here can't be all that different if you like him so much.

[She can just tell Mutsu likes him by that BIG OLE SMILE HE HAD ON HIS FACE]

( Of course it sounds like a made up story. Mutsu probably wouldn't believe it either if someone had told him that five years earlier. But he's traveled through time and now he's traveled to a new world and learned about others so anything is possible. He'd never make up a lie this big, though, not on purpose. He's honest right now!

The globe stops and he let's it go for now. He's not so unaware that he can't realize that might be annoying. He must like the Ryouma in this world, though? Even it's true, it startles him to have someone else point it out. He does like him. Even if they aren't the same, he admires him and he's resolved to stay by his side as long as he's here.

After the surprise wears off, what's left is a solemn sort of humility, something that is both certain and not. )

It's like distant family. ( Yeah, ) Even if he's from far away, he's still family, ya know?

( The same that will eventually give him away but it seems like his heart is still loyal to his first and only family. )

[Okuni tilts her head at Mutsu's initial surprise. She's not sure why he's solemn, but she can perhaps take a guess. If he referred to Sakamoto as his last master, then maybe it's warranted?]

Of course, [What would she do if she met an alternate version of Baren?] I'd say the same if I met a different version of my brother.

[She can't actually imagine an alternate Baren at all... When you're so co-dependent on family that the fact they could be different escapes your imagination entirely.]

( Mutsu's love for his master is unquestionable. It's something else entirely to suddenly be so close after three centuries. After he's grieved and come to peace with an important piece of his spirit being gone. With Ryouma here, he isn't in love with the memory anymore but his actual existence. #It'sComplicated

But not one to stay down for long, he laughs when Okuni mentions a brother, )

Ya got a brother? If there's another version of him, there's gotta be another you to go with him. ( GA HA HA ) Talk about a scary thought!

( One Okuni is enough. )

[If only Okuni was aware of that three century GAP... As it stands, she's sure there has to be a lot of feelings involved seeing any version of someone you cherish, so she can't put it past Mutsu for being solemn for those three seconds.

She'll still be offended at this though, thanks Mutsu!!!]

Hmph, how rude! [ONE OKUNI IS TRULY ENOUGH THOUGH....] The same goes for you, you know! I bet there's a version of you out there who isn't easily embarrassed and can express his feelings honestly no matter who asks!

If I'm being honest... ( Raising a finger to his lips like he's about to tell a secret, ) He's a lot quieter.

( Because it's just an ordinary sword that came with that Ryouma and not a touken danshi like he is. But also because Mutsu has come along way in all of these centuries. From a new and impressionable spirit to the manifestation of people's ideas of Ryouma!

And he gives that globe one last good spin to emphasize the fact he definitely told some sort of joke, even if it's an inside one. )

See? I'm already an honest guy so ya don't need anymore of me.

[UM, this kind of honesty doesn't even make sense to Okuni who's not fortunate enough to be in on the joke!!! So she just eyes Mutsu for a moment, gazing at him sidelong

then reaches over to tug on his hair ponytail in revenge, THERE!!!]

One of you is certainly enough!

Is that so? [HMMM] But, I think even a treasured tsukumogami needs to be properly punished every now and then, don't you?

[There is actually no logic here because Mutsu doesn't even deserve to be punished for anything, Okuni IS JUST HAVING LOTS OF FUN WITH THIS!

Okuni circles around Saniwa's desk at exactly the same time, so now they're just circling vultures.]

This is for your own good! Now, stay still...!

(Stop, how can he escape like this.)

(He's trying to change his direction a few times from the left-right to see if he can get away from Okuni this way...)

[OKUNI IS GOING TO MIRROR MUTSU'S MOVEMENTS PERFECTLY BOY]

Punishment helps give you character!!

[there's a split second though where Okuni crouches a little in place, as if planning to spring over the desk towards Mutsu -- a WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY WHERE OKUNI DOESN'T MOVE]

You can't just punish people for no reason! I have rights, ya know!

(That moment when Okuni does exactly what Mutsu was going to do... this is fine, he can adapt. He holds his ground!! He's ready for Okuni! If she tries to jump, he's going to catch her because she sure isn't going to expect that, is she?!)

but that's not enough to convince Okuni to stray from her initial plan of trying to Jump Mutsu, because she's sure that as soon as she moves to the right he'll move to the left and vice versa so

[thEN SHE LAUNCHES HERSELF OVER THE DESK LIKE A CANNON, JUST AS PREDICTED

(And she launches over like a cannon and he raises his arms up to CATCH HER. HE'S READY FOR HER. And if you thought this was going to be a touching and cute moment, as soon as he has her, he's going to spin her around and

toss her to the side and skedaddle)

but there Okuni goes, flying to the side and Mutsu's running off like the devil is at his heels, HM...

She rolls herself back up and FLIES ON AFTER HIM though after a moment she'll also come back and try to hijack the globe until mutsu tells her to stop and gives her another one instead....]
