he Town is quiet this week. No sudden quests on the forum post, no roars of werewolves in the distance... just peaceful, peaceful quiet. Of course, it's hot as hell right now, but that aside, it's pretty pleasant. You probably don't want to wander around the Town right now, but... Naturally, now's when the Town is going to start thoroughly encouraging you to do just that. You do want to find your doorway back home, don't you? Better get searching! [ He's been trying to head off any visitors before they were subjected to this, but sticking around to do so is hard. The only emotional defense Joshua ever learned was to shut down entirely, and doing that now, when he's finally been trying to learn how to - well, act like a normal person again - is counter-productive, to say the least.

Emotions are complicated, and it was so much easier when he thought he didn't have them. ]

Can I see yours? If it's not...

[ You know, if it's not a traumatic hellhole or something. ]

[Akira smiles, just a little.]

It's not.

[It's a very cozy place, actually; especially compared to this, but in general as well. He turns to lead Joshua away, out of the portal and back towards his own.]

I'll make you something to eat, if you want it.

Something other than eggs and potatoes? Sold.

[ Omelets and French fries aren't bad, but food in Chroma is definitely an extremely repetitive experience. ]

[His culinary skills are limited, but effective enough in what he can do. At least, he's never given anyone food poisoning and has received an "I guess it's fine" from the very picky Sojiro.

When they get there, Joshua will see it's a cafe, small but warm. It's not the fanciest place, but by now Akira calls it home.]

It's wonderful.

[ No hesitation, it's the first thing that falls out of his mouth as he looks around, the way someone else might talk about a beautiful view of the mountains or a pristine beach at sunset. As far as he's concerned, it's just as beautiful, after all, in its own way, because - ]

It really feels...like a home.

[He chuckles a little, though not cruelly, as he goes around the counter and grabs his apron. There should be curry ingredients in the fridge...]

It's just a cafe... but I do live in the attic.

[It's maybe kind of weird, depending on where you're from, but Akira's used to it now.]

So I guess it is my home. [He smiles.]

More than just someone living here, I mean. It...feels warm. Welcoming.

[ He's lived in places he'd never call home, but this feels like a place worthy of the title. Like a place where you could really be happy, and not just a roof over your head. ]
