he Town is quiet this week. No sudden quests on the forum post, no roars of werewolves in the distance... just peaceful, peaceful quiet. Of course, it's hot as hell right now, but that aside, it's pretty pleasant. You probably don't want to wander around the Town right now, but... Naturally, now's when the Town is going to start thoroughly encouraging you to do just that. You do want to find your doorway back home, don't you? Better get searching! [He whips his head toward her as soon as it sinks in.]

Maribelle-san! [He's really touched--and his entire face just lights up at her now.] I will!

The entrance to my realm is the stable door, so we have to be careful entering. We don't need to spook the horses.

[inheritance]

Right!!

[He'll just follow her lead, looking both excited and determined not to let her regret her choice!]

[They enter the stable door eventually, and pop out at the base of the gigantic Mila Tree, with several small tents around. The tree reaches up to the heavens, you can barely see the top.]

... If this hadn't been a place of battle, this would have been a truly beautiful sight the first time I saw it.

[inheritance]

Wow, no kidding. [Izuku breathes out as he takes the sight in.]

I guess something like a war would sour your memories of a place like this, though... [He glances at her, solemn.] How long has this one been going on?

[troubadamsel]

This particular one... It is difficult to say. After all, this isn't my homeland.

... To make a long story short... Lord Chrom's heart is generous. Two of our Shepherds told us that their home had been taken over by a tyrant years ago, and they had been forced to flee. They always planned to return, but then they heard how much power he had amassed, and how much innocent blood had been shed. They could no longer simply wait for a solution - one had to be forced... so they asked milord for his aide.

[inheritance]

[Izuku's brows rise in surprise.]

Wait... so Lord Chrom's helping another kingdom altogether? That is generous of him.

[troubadamsel]

That's right.

[She can't help but smile, eyes sad as she murmurs to herself.]

... And I believe Lady Emmeryn would have wanted it too...

[inheritance]

Lady Emmeryn...? [Izuku gently asks, sensing that it might be a difficult topic.

Maribelle looks sad, though. He can't help himself.]

[troubadamsel]

[her eyes stay down, her voice distant.]

... Lissa and Chrom's eldest sister, the former ruler of Ylisse. She's... no longer with us.

[inheritance]

[Izuku's places his hand on her shoulder gently.]

I'm sorry.

[He means it, even if he only has Maribelle's words to go by. But if she agreed with Chrom's decision, then Izuku thinks she must've been a kind ruler herself.]
