he Town is quiet this week. No sudden quests on the forum post, no roars of werewolves in the distance... just peaceful, peaceful quiet. Of course, it's hot as hell right now, but that aside, it's pretty pleasant. You probably don't want to wander around the Town right now, but... Naturally, now's when the Town is going to start thoroughly encouraging you to do just that. You do want to find your doorway back home, don't you? Better get searching! I don't have anything remotely godly on hand, but I can at least be a shield for you if it gets that bad. You'll just have to keep running. You can do that much, right?

for now, all she sees is a Teenager, which is unfair because Okuni is technically a teenager too. But she likes Ruva..., and even if Okuni did know what he really was, she'd still offer to be a shield. She's used to it, it's a family duty, and she doesn't want to see Ruva get killed in his own dream world. That's like putting salt on a wound.]

Don't look down on me. [Confidently, as she snaps out her fan and points to the direction leading away from the taraka.] I'm quite skilled at playing distraction, and I don't need a god-level weapon for that either.

[except that taraka is like the biggest thing Okuni's ever seen and could probably kill a person with its thumb, but IT'S FINE. OKUNI IS CONFIDENT.]

Eh? [That gets her to pause.] I hope that means you're that confident in your own abilities, and not that you think it should be you because this is your world or anything like that.

[NO ONE IS GOING TO BE A SHIELD TODAY!! She pokes her giant hair out once more before turning to face Gandharva]

We'll run in opposite directions at the same time -- whoever gets away will go through the exist first, the other will follow after! How's that?

[Okuni is determined to be the one that gets followed by that monster JSYK RUVA!!]

Okuni motions at Ruva with the universal gesture of 'GET YOUR BUTT MOVING!!', then she takes a deep breath and PEELS ON OUT OF THERE.

Which clearly means that she's spotted first, hooray Okuni gets what she wanted!! How long does she have until she's dead or Ruva slides on out]

anyway, gandharva's fast, so he slides on out pretty quickly! once he's gone, the remaining tarakas don't seem quite as interested in okuni anymore—which is to say they're absolutely still a threat, but they're not going to chase her down to the ends of the earth.

humans don't make for sufficient food, after all.]

JK Okuni is still alive. but THAT'S STRANGE!!! The change of behavior does not go at all unnoticed by Okuni, who eyes the taraka a safe distance away, then finally turns and leaves through the same exit she entered from. hopefully, she'll meet Gandharva on the other side, because she nyooms towards him with a sort of questioning look on her face.]

You didn't trip and fall before you left, did you?

[there's a brief look of relief in his eyes when he sees that okuni is safe and sound—though it's soon replaced by a wry smile.]

Were you hoping I would?

[She saw that, Ruru... Now you can never take it back.]

I just thought it would have been funny.

[She says, without any real conviction behind it. She's glad he's okay!!

And also, she has many questions.]

Does that happen every time you go back?

Not always. Never for the first while, at least.

Appearances really are deceiving... [Okuni says, ominously at first like she's suddenly figured Gandharva out!! then,] I would never have guessed that you'd be from a world with giant monsters like those. You seem more of the soft sunshine and flowers sort.

... While I assume this logic makes sense in your own head, I don't follow.

All you have to know is that you look a bit wimpy, so I imagined you came from a nice place... But I suppose I've seen the error of my ways.

[congrats ruva, for being the only person to get any sort of real apology from Okuni.]

I mean, you still look wimpy, so it's even more impressive that you're surprisingly tough.
