he Town is quiet this week. No sudden quests on the forum post, no roars of werewolves in the distance... just peaceful, peaceful quiet. Of course, it's hot as hell right now, but that aside, it's pretty pleasant. You probably don't want to wander around the Town right now, but... Naturally, now's when the Town is going to start thoroughly encouraging you to do just that. You do want to find your doorway back home, don't you? Better get searching! I'm aware. Humans are inherently curious creatures that feel the need to explore. But please refrain from going through my belongings without my permission.

[ He sighs. At least he doesn't sound particularly annoyed? He would be more peeved if he walked in on someone trying to get into his laptop, honestly; his electronics contain sensitive information that have no business being seen by strangers. There's no risk in people going through his books, and a lot of them are at least partially too blurry to read due to being created from memory. ]

[Given that computers and laptops are nonexistent in her world, touching his was nowhere near the top of her list. She sheepishly pushes the book back into place.]

It's, um... i-it's a very nice room? ... I was hoping to read something other than a fairy tale for once...

The lack of diverse reading material is frustrating, isn't? I've never liked fairy tales.

Thank you. [ Ryo walks over to one of the bookcases, indicating a row of numerous dictionaries, an atlas, and a set of encyclopedias. ]

We'll start here and sort everything that's mostly or completely illegible into stacks.

Of course. You do have quite the collection, you must be very studious.

I am. I've always been a voracious reader; as a child, I spend most of my time reading because I wanted to understand the world around me better.

[ Learning is always time well spent, and he never had any interest in activities typical of children. Adults tried to get him to partake in those activities, but in the end he always returned to the comfort of thick books written for an older audience but he understood perfectly well, absorbing the information like a sponge. ]

There are always new things to learn, new knowledge to gain.

We could honestly benefit from more people thinking like you. I hope we soon have more legible books to reward such behavior.

So do I. Books on history or scientific topics would be more useful than the hundreds of fairy tales in the library—and more interesting to read, too.

And think of all we could learn from books from other realms! So many worlds are far more advanced in machinery than mine, for example.
