he Town is quiet this week. No sudden quests on the forum post, no roars of werewolves in the distance... just peaceful, peaceful quiet. Of course, it's hot as hell right now, but that aside, it's pretty pleasant. You probably don't want to wander around the Town right now, but...

Naturally, now's when the Town is going to start thoroughly encouraging you to do just that.

You do want to find your doorway back home, don't you?

Better get searching! And don't mind the other worlds you might end up stumbling into first.

It's not hiding, it's simply —

[Prompto stares at him blankly.]

...You know no one's gonna tell on you, right? Like, all I want is to say how happy I am for you! But you guys have to be weird about it.

That's because under normal circumstances, conduct like this would have me stripped of my duties, my title, and quite possibly brought up on charges.

[I mean, maybe not him personally, but like. Those are things that could be done. In a situation like this.]

Regardless of whether or not anyone is going to tattle, it's still hard to simply brush off the gravity of the scenario.

[Apparently, this isn't as convincing to Prompto as it is to Ignis. He grumbles.]

Okay, but I still think it's a good thing. What's bad about the two best guys I know getting together and being in love and stuff? You should be happy!

[He slaps Ignis's back.]

At least tell me you're happy.

[He's quiet a minute, not really looking at Prompto, except that then gradually a hint of a smile starts creeping at the corners of his mouth and he offers up tentatively in a very low voice: ]

There's nothing in the world — any world — that makes me happy like he does.

[Wait for it.]

[Wait for it.]

He's. Rather fun to kiss, too.

AhahaaaaAA!

[Prompto smacks his shoulder again, more enthusiastically, and then bounces around. This is a cackle of joy, brother.]

I knew it! I knew it! [He jumps to a halt in front of Ignis and holds his fist up for a bump.] Congratulations on getting down to Smoochtown!

I'd suggest you should try it for yourself sometime. But of course if you did that, I'd have to kill you.

[He's hiding it well, but Prompto's enthusiasm is infectious, and it's hard not to smile when presented with it.]

No one would ever find my body.

[That's probably not something to sound so gleeful about, but, well. He hops, basically dancing in place.]

How long has this been going on? After I got here, right? Awww, man, I'm so excited for you guys! [Gasp!] What're you gonna do for dates?!

Truth be told, I haven't the faintest idea. It's hardly as though there's any sort of bustling nightlife in this town. Likely we'll simply end up doing exactly the same things that we always do, with slightly more kissing involved.

[He's not complaining about the extra kissing, mind. Not in the least.]

I'm installing a guardrail on the roof, by the by.

Like you two wouldn't make out perched on the rail like gargoyles for the thrill of it.

[After a second imagining it, he snorts.]

"Flying kites," my ass. You're lucky Gladio isn't here to give you guys all the shit you deserve.

Yes, well. Our Noct is a great many things, but a consummate liar, he isn't.

[Or one to think quickly on his feet when it comes to making up cover stories. "Noct Gar", indeed.]

I'd be careful just how much of it you give, however. You've left yourself a bit wide open to receiving it in return, lately, haven't you?

[But his stupid, pasty-ass Niff complexion gives him away as he starts to color.]

[He tries to dig his bony elbow into Ignis's beautiful, unprotected side.]

And here I was going to offer to lend you my kite, if you were contemplating a bit of flying of your own.

[DAMN IT, IGNIS. And alas, he falls prey to that elbow, if only because he's so busy being pleased with himself that he misses his opportunity to dodge.]

She doesn't need someone flying a kite up in her face, she just needs someone to not be a huge jerk to her. And. Like. Mean it. She--she needs a friend.

[Somehow, admitting that makes him blush more; it's tender, unexplored emotional territory, feeling this way about a girl. About a stranger. He looks up at Ignis through his hair.]

I'm okay at that, aren't I?

[Ah. Something in him softens at that, and his previously teasing smile goes just a little bit warmer.]

Okay at that?

[His laugh, now, is gentle in its humor.]

You joined the Crownsguard, survived the Marshal, and swore your life to the prince of Lucis because you wanted to support your best friend. Yes, I should think you're "rather okay" at that sort of thing.

[Assuring Prompto is the easiest thing in the world. He lifts his chin, letting his arms swing freely from his shoulders, and smiles.]

Cor isn't that bad.

[It's amazing how many points being a scrappy commoner nets you in the Book of Leonis.]

Besides, I'm pretty sure there's no way she likes me like that.

Poor taste on her part, then, if you ask me.

[Says the most attractive man in all Eos.]

Well. Whether you fly kites with her or not, rest assured she's welcome at dinner whenever you care to invite her.

[I-Igunisu-senpai... kyaa~]

I do invite her! She's just... shy. ["Shy."] So if I could cook something myself and bring it to her...

...Ah. And her preferred criteria, I assume, is...

[Six help us all it's time to judge really hard]

Um, well. [He presses his fingertips together.] She doesn't like spicy food, annnddd... she seems to like junk food a lot? But I don't think I could figure out how to make that out here.

[How even does junk food?]

But I know she'll eat potatoes, as a place to start.

[He shakes his head, laughing softly under his breath.]
