[Shouto's where he said he would be. He's in his hero outfit, which really just looks like a janitor's uniform with a few extras strapped on for good measure. But he's just gotten his new clothes, he'd rather not have to go scavenging for new ones.

He's scanning around for Mysterious and Keith... only to realize he has no idea what Keith looks like. It's such an obvious oversight...]

That would be nice, too. [Izuku smiles as he continues purposely brushing his hand along the trees they pass.]

Even though some of the color is already started to return, most of this place is still so gray and cold-looking.

[glaciers]

We probably are edible but that would be gross. [He doesn't want to eat anybody who's sentient. That sounds awful.]

I miss seeing a colorful sky.

[salutations]

I wonder what it would count as... The sun isn't really yellow but would that count? [Maybe getting back the sunset? Well, that would require the work of a red, as well...]

There are plenty of gardens in Flavo. Maybe some flowers will regain their color. More food would be the best result, I feel, there's just something to be said for the effect of freshly bloomed flowers.

[... or, well, flowers besides dandelions. Those had mysteriously grabbed their color back along with the food.]

Technically... [Izuku pipes up, in a tone that Todoroki's probably familiar with by now.] None of the objects we're seeing are actually the color we think they are--that's just the kind of light being reflected back at us.

[He quiets down for a moment, then quickly adds when he remembers he was actually in the middle of a conversation.] Ah! But if we're talking about traditional colors, then the sun would probably be yellow and orange.

I wouldn't mind having more food choices, even if having color in the flowers would really make this place look more welcome.

[glaciers]

You're good at retaining information like that. Did you like science more than other classes?

The sun is usually that color in photographs of it, at least.

... There's not a lot of variety, but food is food.

[salutations]

That's very true but this place may not function in accordance with the laws of science.

[So, there was a presented microcosm between Midoriya's and Todoroki's answers: it's not technically yellow, versus "it looks yellow."]

So that begs the question, does it work based on the science or based on how we perceive things? Two people can see the same object as very different colors, after all.

Not more than the other classes, but most times, I just end up remembering information like that if I thought it was interesting. [Izuku looks up at the trees while they walk, mouth pursed as he thinks.]

I think it could be what we perceive the colors as. This whole place seems to operate on magic, or something along those lines, so the laws of science might not even apply here.

[At this point, Izuku's lost track of how many trees they've touched between the two of them. But, suddenly, as he touches the bark of another greyish tree, Izuku thinks he sees something tinted yellow-golden out of the corner of his eye. He stops in place and turns toward it, but the change in angle makes him lose whatever had caught his attention just now.]

Wait, I thought I just saw something. Um, a couple trees down that way?

[glaciers]

So there might be some kind of barrier between the real color and the way we perceive things.

Did you?

[Shouto looks over at the direction Midoriya points towards.]

I can't see anything.

[Except for gray. Lots and lots of gray.]

[salutations]

[Yuuya turns his head, briefly hovering in the air while he considers it.]

... let me get a closer look. [He swoops that direction, a little, until the glint catches his eye as well.]

Would you look at that! [Despite the fact Todoroki clearly can't.] It's very faint but it's there. That wasn't quite what I was expecting at all!

... ah, and I've lost track of it. At least, when we get closer, it should be easier to pin down.

[inheritance]

[Izuku doesn't need to be told twice. Quickly, he starts heading in that direction, too, after checking that Todoroki's still following him.]

It was around here... [He squints up at the trees as he walks, hoping to catch a glimpse of the golden tinted leaves again.]

Oh! There it is! [This time, Izuku manages to pinpoint the tree and stops in front of it, reaching up on tiptoes to pull a leaf from a low branch.]

[glaciers]

[Shouto looks completely puzzled about the leaf Midoriya pulls.

It still seems gray to him, but if Midoriya thinks it's gold then it probably is.]

... How can you tell?

[salutations]

[Yuuya and Midoriya can look at this single, nondescript leaf with all the confidence in the world.]

It's subtle but it's there. Sort of like catching the slightest hint of a rainbow off an oily puddle, you know?

[There is no such glimmer so it's hard to tell if Yuuya's actually trying to help or just pulling his leg.]

[glaciers]

[He looks a little skeptical here, but he'll nod. There's no reason Midoriya would have to lie, after all.]

Sure. If you say so. It just looks gray to me.

Let's get this back to the town.
