[Shouto's where he said he would be. He's in his hero outfit, which really just looks like a janitor's uniform with a few extras strapped on for good measure. But he's just gotten his new clothes, he'd rather not have to go scavenging for new ones.

He's scanning around for Mysterious and Keith... only to realize he has no idea what Keith looks like. It's such an obvious oversight...]

There's probably something better than humans in the forest. I thought I saw a weird deer.

I don't have a knife on me. Or chalk. But I can get up a tree fast enough.

[lonered]

And I've got a blade.

[Which he brandishes in demonstration before slipping it back into its sheath. Sounds like a good enough plan to Keith.]

And there are deer. But they're... not normal.

[i_cant_die]

[Mysterion smirks as an idea comes to mind.] If we find a deer, I saw we catch it and use it as bait. Wolves will smell the blood. How are they not normal? Do they have like two heads or something?

[glaciers]

If the deer aren't normal then the wolves probably aren't either.

But if we've got a way back, we might as well get started.

[He'll start walking towards the forest.]

[lonered]

There's not a lot of normal in general here.

[Keith frowns, but nods at the mention of getting going.] I still don't particularly like running errands for the folks in charge here, but yeah. If we're doing this, better get going. May as well make the most of the daylight, in case this does take a long time.

[i_cant_die]

It'll be fine. We go in, find a wolf, and bring back a tooth for a reward. The longer we play along, the more likely the person behind it all will get lazy. Then we find them and beat the shit out of them. [Mysterion says as he follows along with the other two.] Hunting is fun anyway. Just try to enjoy it.

[glaciers]

Or the more likely they are to keep giving us quests. Because we're being obedient.

[Shouto gives a small shrug at the hunting comment.]

This is the first time I've tried to hunt a wolf.

[lonered]

That's what I'm thinking. And they keep promising rewards on top of it.

[So people are falling in line. Including him this time around. His protest last time just wound up with furniture picking on his worst insecurities. But right. The matter at hand.]

I've never exactly been hunting. I've had to fight off some animals on planets where we wound up unexpectedly before. But... this is new.

[i_cant_die]

Exactly. If they think we're obedient, they'll eventually come out of hiding. Or we'll be able to find them if we got enough time. Getting some color back on food thanks to the chore wasn't that bad, right? [Mysterion walks ahead of them toward the forest.] I'm excited. Maybe for once I can go hunting and not get eaten.

[glaciers]

[Whatever else he was going to say, that last sentence threw him off too much.]

You got eaten?

[lonered]

The boy who can't die... [Keith glances over at Mysterion. Don't think he doesn't know, Kenny. There are two children here. And he made you that staff. So. But he is also not going to say a damn thing, either here, or when he's talking to Kenny out of costume until the kid actually brings it up.]

Or who can't stay dead. Sounds like one of those times?

[THAT SAID.] No one's getting eaten today. Not happening.

[Over Keith's dead body, basically.]

Keith gets it. [The masked boy looks over at his roommate. Keith doesn't seem the dumb type but he's playing along so he's okay with it. It's better that way. He looks back at Shouto and gives him a nod.] Yeah. A few times but it's fine. Like I said, I'm an immortal fourth grader. Even if I die, you won't remember it happening. No harm, no foul kind of situation. No one but me remembers when I die.

[glaciers]

You know that's the opposite of reassuring, right?

[lonered]

There is plenty of harm and plenty of foul. No one is getting eaten. No one is dying. We're going to get this quest handled. We're going to be smart and careful.

[Because yeah not reassuring.]

First we have to find a wolf anyway.

[So onward! Into the woods, and hopefully they'll find what they're looking for.]

[i_cant_die]

[Mysterion nods. He didn't mean for it not to be reassuring? It isn't his fault he doesn't care anymore. Maybe it is. Either way, he takes off for the woods and ducks behind trees. He can be stealthy. Watch him move between trees and shrubs. He'll even do a somersault behind a log before peaking out.]

[glaciers]

[He's not going to say excessive. But he sure is going to think it.

Meanwhile Shouto just walks into the forest, careful not to step on any dried leaves or branches. They're close to the town now, but the farther the go the more careful they should be.]

[lonered]

[Kids... are kind of cute sometimes. Go figure. Keith will just follow along sedately, quiet as he can anyway. IT's a bit odd to be going into the forest specifically looking for something with sharp teeth that could probably cause them a lot of problems.

They're going to be lucky to find anything really.

Except. Out the corner of his eye he sees movement, through the trees, and stops in his tracks, reaching out a hand to catch Shouto's arm, hoping Mysterion notices they've stopped] Over there...

[i_cant_die]

[Mysterion notices them stop and suddenly pops up behind Keith. He did say he was good at stealth. He peeks and goes quite. Something is out there. His blue eyes scan for movement but he doesn't see anything. He looks to the older teens with a raised eyebrow. He speaks in a deep whisper.] I don't see anything...

[glaciers]

[Shouto's gaze falls to where Keith was pointing, but whatever was there is long gone now.]

I think it left. [His voice falls to a whisper. Sure it might be gone now, but it's probably not far.]

[lonered]

[A glance behind at the kid. ...okay. Points for stealth. But. Right.]

They're around though. And they know we're here.

[So now they may be the ones being stalked. Good. Good to know. But Keith is ready now, eyes scanning the woods on either side of them. His voice remains pitched low and quiet as well,]

Stay alert.

[i_cant_die]

[This isn't good. Mysterion turns his back on Keith and presses against the Paladin's legs. He can watch the back. His eyes scan the forest. They're being hunted. They need to lure out the wolves. Wolves were carnivores so they ate meat and could smell blood. The ten year old raises one of his fingers to his mouth and bites down, hard enough to break skin. He winces but he's had worse. He lets the blood soak his gloved finger and grabs his staff tight. Fresh blood should lure out the creature.] Come out, come out, wherever you are... [The kid whispers.]

[glaciers]

[Why is this child like this? Sure he said he couldn't die, but on the other hand that's no reason for him to go throwing himself into the line of fire like this.

It's like an even more self sacrificing Midoriya and the thought there is one is patently horrifying to him.]

Don't do that.

[lonered]

He's right...

[Keith agrees, glancing around.] We're not here to use any one of us as bait. We're all in this together.

[And Keith is not planning on letting either of his current companions get eaten by a wolf, thank you.

Or even chewed on, if he can at all help it.]

[i_cant_die]

[Mysterion doesn't look up at the two of them. His eyes scan the forest, searching for the thing hunting them. He keeps his tight hold on the staff as he speaks.] We're being hunted. Blood will make sure it doesn't lose interest. You two said you're both fast and strong and we're a team. I'm putting my trust in you. Keep me alive when the damn thing comes running. It's just a flesh wound.

[glaciers]

[He gives off an annoyed huff, but brings his right foot forward, ready to encase anything that might come near them in ice.]

You're worse than Midoriya. At least he doesn't break his limbs on purpose.
