Nah, I've never seen a real unicorn before. But I have seen a Pegasus?

[Same family of fairy tale friendship is magic horses, right?

The forest is as it usually is. But the colorlessness is still always so weird to see when he walks through it. He pats a palm over a tree trunk as they pass.]

That's really cool, too! Did you get to ride it?

[Izuku pauses every so often when one of the forests' mutated creatures passes by them--a bird with three heads that caws at them before flying off, a deer with two sets of eyes and antlers that immediately darts away--but it's something on the ground that finally catches his attention.]

Oh, hey. Tracks. [He crouches down to get a closer look.] I think we might be getting close.

Sure did! Got to fight a big Hydra with his help.

[But then Sora's distracted from his story when Izuku notes the tracks in the ground. The forest has always been a little 'weird' so he's not surprised that they find them so quickly.]

One two three four... [He's pointing at each one.] Yup, they look like hooves.

[Time to start following them!]

I wonder if the unicorn likes us enough if we can bring it back to town.

[Not advisable...!]

A... hydra? [The name sounds vaguely familiar, and it takes Izuku a second to place it.] Oh! The thing that has multiple heads, right? From the Greek myths.

[Unfortunately, Izuku thinks it's a great idea, too.]

Wouldn't hurt to try! I think most of the creatures in the forest avoid the town, though.

Yeah! The big snake things.

[Not a myth to Sora, though!

Someone, please stop these shounen protagonists from adopting a unicorn.]

That would make it even cooler if we could get it to come back with us.

Maybe we could tempt it to come back with some nice apples..? It would be pretty cool if the unicorn was actually willing to stick around!

[Someone tell them that they need to find the unicorn first.]

Ah, Sora-kun, look! [Excited as he sounds, Izuku's dropping his voice to a whisper as he points through the trees, where the tracks lead. There's something by the creek that they've found, and Izuku's hoping that it's the unicorn they've been following.]

Ahh--?!

[Sora quickly ducks down with Izuku and then pats his arm quickly. This is really exciting, after all! He really wishes they actually had apples on them so they could give the magical animal apple treats.

Just over yonder is the creek. A slim looking horse that looks white (hard to tell if things are truly white or not around here but) and gleams and glows in the sunlight. Sora has to wait for a second for it to tuck its head down to drink from the stream of water to notice it does have a long pointed horn.]

There one is! I can't believe it! [Patting Izuku's arm again. Pat-pat.]

Okay... How should we get some hair without scaring it off? Should one of us try and make friends while the other tries to sneak up to snip some hair?

[With Sora this worked up, Izuku can't help but pat excitedly right back at Sora's arm. Mutual excitement!

Sora's right though... now that they've found one, they have to consider the best way to approach it. Hmm! Izuku hums quietly as he goes through what he remembers from his reading.]

Sneaking might make it worse, actually. Unicorns are supposed to be fine with letting people approach them, as long as they're "pure" enough. Both of us approaching it slowly and from the front might work best.

Right, okay! Let's make a unicorn friend.

[Pure enough-- Well, Sora won't have any issues with that. Light and Light magic is his thing, after all! And Izuku seems like a really nice guy. They got this in the bag.

He takes a step out and motions for Izuku to follow him.]

Let's go slowly...!

[They've got this!! Izuku trails after Sora as they approach slowlyyy. Something must have alerted the unicorn to their presence, because it looks up from the creek it was just drinking from once they're close enough. Izuku freezes in place.]

H-hi! We're just here to make friends with you...we don't mean you any harm!

[Nailed it..? That's defintely super convincing. Also is it just him, or does it feel like the unicorn's staring right into their souls, judging them?]

[Sora had been about to just start babbling friendship at the unicorn but his words are caught in his throat when the magical creature stares at them. It really is like it's looking right into them. Sora puts a hand over his heart because he can feel it beat a little faster when this happens.]

Hey there...! I'm Sora and this is Izuku. [Introductions are polite, right? Right.]

We've never seen a real unicorn before... You're amazing!

[It lowers its head and once again that longhorn gleams in the sunlight. Then it takes a step closer. Sora's almost a little nervous and wants to take a step back. Getting stabbed by that horn is a big No Thanks. But, for now he holds his ground!]

[Close up, the horn looks kind of ominous, especially when it's pointed straight at them. Izuku tenses up as the unicorn gets closer and closer...

And then whickers softly as it nudges both of them with the side of its head, apparently deeming them worthy. Izuku lights up, giving Sora a grin before reaching over to lightly touch the unicorn's neck in awe.]

It's so friendly! [He's so relieved! The unicorns here were the kind ones afterall. He canmt wait to tell the others about this.]

[Sora had inhaled as well when the unicorn got close enough to do that. Not exactly scared of the creature just unsure of its intentions! Luckily it's not to stab them!

He lets out a puff of laughter. He reaches to pat the unicorn on the neck as well and grins brightly at Izuku.]

I can't believe we found an actual unicorn friend. [He looks to the unicorn and pats the neck again.] Hey, can we have a tiny bit of your hair? Just a few strands?

[The unicorn nickers at them softly before tossing its hair and staying put.]

Um... maybe that's a yes? [He hopes so! Because he's reaching out and plucking a couple strands of hair from the mane now... and the unicorn doesn't look too bothered about it, thankfully. Success!]

Thank you. [Izuku even backs up to give it a little bow. It's only polite, when the unicorn's giving them something of its own.]

[Wow, that was easy! Or they're really lucky! Probably just really lucky.]

Thanks!! [Instead of a bow Sora pretty much just wraps his arms around the unicorn's neck and hugs it. Smushing his face into that pretty mane and all.]

You're the best!!

[They make such a cute picture, Izuku can't help but laugh and wish he'd brought his cellphone with him.

And then he'll join Sora in hugging the unicorn.]

Thank you! [He says again, feeling the unicorn shift under the sudden hug-attack.]

[The unicorn probably has the most confused look on its face. But it doesn't shake the boys off or try to stab them! It just nickers softly and then nuzzles its snout on Izuku's cheek.

After a moment or two Sora relents his told and grins.]

We better get back to town and hand this in. Thanks again! We'll come visit!
