[ open ] DEFENSE FORCE MEETING
Who: The Defense Force & anyone who wants to listen in!
Where: Town Hall
When: 7/3
What: Defense Force meeting! These happen every other month.
Warnings: None
With everyone’s help the past two months, the town hall is looking in pretty fair shape considering how they’d first found it. Currently, this is the best place they have for the meeting, and Guren reminds everyone of the date with a simple message to their inbox. Date, time, place. Of course, it’s not fully furnished, and it could still use more than a little help, so feel free to help with any of that— but Guren already has some topics in mind. When the time hits, and it looks like everyone who’s coming has made it, he’ll start addressing points. Don’t interrupt him, or he’ll literally kick you in the face anime gag style, please.
OOC
Hey everyone! So here’s my first attempt at an actual meeting log, please go easy on me as plenty can change for the next one. I’ll be posting six top levels below for various prompts for characters to discuss. After that, you’re free to top level on your own, or comment under those to discuss those particular topics in a specific area! Guren will not be too active in discussion for a reason— the purpose of these meetings are to get input from the rest of the force, so he knows how to move forward with it. I’ll be reading everything to keep up with it, and he’ll be listening and watching! A few topics below have sign ups, both to make it easier on me and to make it more fun for everyone else! I’m sorry there’s so much to read I get too excited about these things.
Important links:
MEMBER LIST - This has the current list of all members, that I’ll keep updated, as well as a directory of links for convenience so you don't have to keep finding this log.
TEAMS AND OTHER ASSIGNMENTS - Teams, sparring, special projects, etc.

DRUGS
Drug A. Psychic Resistance
- Taking two drugs at once will stack the abilities. It’s up to you if you want two hours of the benefit with six hours of recovery, or one hour of even stronger benefit, with six hours recovery.
- Taking one drug, letting it wear off, and taking another within the 24 hour period will make the second dosage take twice as long for recovery.
- Taking one of each (at max of two) will give you both benefits, but with a six hour recovery just like the first bullet point.
- Taking three drugs within 24 hours, whether mixing and matching or not, will cause your characters’ organs to rupture and kill them. Please don’t do this.
This drug will provide an hour of really great psychic resistance. Power through what might have otherwise caused your character to be completely taken over with mind control! However, after the hour is over and the drug wears off, you get a migraine so terrible that it’ll be difficult to even think. You may become less coordinated, ill from the pain, or sensitive to any light. This will last for three hours.
Drug B. Healing/Durability
This drug will make your body extra resilient for a good hour. Healing will be accelerated (realistically, based on your character’s current healing), and physical and direct attacks will do less damage in general for a whole hour! Afterwards, however, their body will become completely useless for three hours. This means it’ll be hard to even lift an arm or stand, let alone move around or fight.
Both Drug Notes
Guren will stress the dangers of these drugs repeatedly, and clearly explain the side effects and risks. He will not be passing these out like candy. To receive a pack of 3 of these drugs, you’ll have to come ask Guren, and he’ll decide if you can handle it responsibly. He’ll keep his hands on these himself and be on top of that, but if you’d like to have your character try to steal some for whatever reason, please message me privately to work something out!
If you want to speak to Guren and get some drugs, just write “Guren” in the subject line and I’ll reply. Otherwise, you can discuss with each other how to use these.
guren!

You're looking for these ones, right? I know you're not as hot-headed as some of the other idiots around here, but I want you to tell me when you think you should use them.
no subject
When there's no other option to avoid something that could control me. No escape route, nobody to sit on me until I come to my senses...
[ He's not interested in getting a migraine without a good reason, okok. ]
no subject
[He lowers the pack for Joshua to take. That's three pills total.]
If you get down to just one left, you can ask me for more. Remember, don't take more than one in 24 hours.
[He says that, even if he can technically get away with taking two. He's been saying "don't take more than one" this whole time.]
no subject
I hate that I'm expecting to need these in the first place. Trust me, I'm not going to take them lightly.
no subject
[With the pack out of his hands, he places his hand on his hip.] If it hits you worse than you think it should, let me know, but it should be exactly as I said. That's bad enough, anyway.
Similarly, if you get down to having only one left, let me know and I can give you more.
no subject
[ Because man, everything else in his head is fucked up enough, it would be right in keeping. ]
Thanks.
Guren
Ichinose-dono, how quickly does the drug take effect?
no subject
[His bad.] Ten seconds, roughly. Part of the side effects after are because the body is forced to react so immediately after taking it.
no subject
...I see.
It would have to be a very specific situation in which the benefit would outweigh being incapacitated for so long afterwards.
Is there any chance of developing a version of this drug that would take longer to act, but lessen the side effects?
no subject
When that's the case, or in order to save someone else, you can use them. You have to keep in mind how you'll be after the case, so having a group with you is the best way.
[So, with that in mind, he seems to think about the question, glancing off to the side.]
No. Not with the methods I'm using, anyway. I'm testing the body's limits.
no subject
It is still difficult for him to imagine the situation in which this would work best, but--
An eyebrow raises at that. Testing the body's limits?]
I suppose I will know the situation to use it when I see it, then. So if you will allow me, I will take your medicine.
I hope you have not put yourself under too much pressure to complete and test them.
no subject
[Honestly, he hides the apothecary just so no one can see the experiments he does on himself to get this done. His little secret! With Ryo.]
Which one do you want? Or are you asking for both?
no subject
No. Mental attacks are the one I cannot defend against now, so that is the one I shall request.
no subject
[Taking that one in his hand, he holds it out for Tonbokiri.]
I like to think you're responsible enough to know not to combine them, so you can have a pack of the other too, if you want. But I hope you won't have to use either one.
no subject
[He takes the offered medicine gravely.]
I, as well. But... if you think it is prudent to take both, I shall.
no subject
[Because he'd know when it was good to use them, when it was necessary. And with his kind heart, he'd be able to offer it to any others depending on the situation. So, Guren grabs the other pack and passes that over, as well.]
(no subject)
guren!
Do you think a drug like that would do me any good? [ In an emergency; Fushimi is a bit reckless on occasion, but compared to most of the people he's met, he's almost downright reserved about power. ]
I'm not as strong as you. [ Not to say that he's too weak for the side effects -- just that he isn't certain it would do any good on reasonably normal human healing and strength. Most of his power is magical, after all. ]
no subject
[Guren tilts his head to one side, serious but still thoughtful as he considers it.]
Whatever your body's limits may be, it works and increases from there. Someone like me is going to get a larger boost in the end, but you're still going to be a lot more resilient than you would have been before.
I think it could help. In emergencies.
no subject
[ Fushimi can handle that. He doesn't like the idea of suffering after taking something, but it's better than dying. Even if dying here is temporary, it still seems extremely unpleasant, and a much longer process than half a day of feeling like shit.
It isn't like Fushimi hasn't lost fights before and had to deal with the fall out. ]
no subject
[So. Last resort extreme drugs, courtesy owari no seraph.]
So, you want some? Which one?
no subject
Ideally, we won't need them, but after the wolves...
[ Fushimi found fighting the wolves kind of fun, up until some of the people he actually sort of likes started to get hurt. ]
no subject
He picks up a three pack of the drug he wants and passes it over.]
Things aren't always ideal. Right. Just remember, one per day means one per day.
no subject
I won't forget. I'm not in any hurry to experience the effects of death in a place like this.
[ Even if it isn't permanent, it still seems deeply unpleasant, and also Fushimi is pretty sure Yata would break his nose the second he showed back up. ]
