[She is never going to admit that she came to the realization that she her feelings for Kirishima were more than just friendship when she was trying to figure out why she didn't want him to know she had eaten small animals raw while she was a werewolf. Because she felt like if it were any of her other friends she'd have been whining and crying about how unfair it was and how gross.

But she hadn't wanted him to know at all and the only reason she could think of was--

She'd confirmed it with Shiho first. But then she needed a second opinion after that because she knows Shiho's very much biased.

So she went to the only authority she could think of. It was hard to say what made Caramia come to mind, was it that he seemed so put together? That he seemed like the sort of person who'd have experience with love? Or just that he reminded her of the director (and Fujiko-san always had answers for these dilemnas)?

Who knows.

Either way. She's at Ruga, knocking on his door. Was he even home? She hadn't even shot him a message to check...

If Caramia opens the door he'll see Kaoru without her usual smile instead she's blushing and muttering to herself as she tugs at the ends of the sleeves.]

[ No one's going to blame Kaoru for wanting to talk to her newly deemed big brother! Well, except for maybe Shiho and Kyrie, but those two are outliers and shouldn't be counted.

Still, Caramia does answer the door, looking much like he had just rolled out of bed (well, actually, his hair always resembled bedhead, so maybe he was up for a while? Hard to tell!). He goes to open his mouth with the usual smile, only to pause his greeting before he could even utter a sound. Well. This certainly isn't what he was expecting to see. ]

...Kaoru? Is everything alright?

[She startled when he spoke, like she hadn't even noticed the door open or that someone was there until she heard her name.]

Yes? [Sounded like the most uncertain thing.] I guess. I just...can I talk to you about something?

Of course. Anything. [ Caramia shuffles aside to coax Kaoru inside, shutting the door behind her. Aside from the gross spideer that slept in the corner, they at least had some privacy here. ]

Did something happen...?

Rin

[Look, at this point she's probably a semi-permanent fixture in Rin's kitchen. She comes in without knocking and either just hovers (literally) nearby or just invites herself to sit nearby and talks his ears off.

Today, she's oddly quiet, as she just stares into space, one hand under her chin. Every now and again she sighs really loudly. Then she just flops down on the table with a whine.]

...why is this happening to me?

[Well his kitchen is basically a free restaurant cafe thing now anyway. He even has staff! Well, one staff. Clark comes in to help from time to time but Roxas is the only one actually working for Rin.

But even if it wasn't that, he would never turn away one of the first friends he ever made in Chroma. She's more than welcome to crash there whenever she wants.

The quietness does concern him, but he's not about to start a conversation without some treats and tea. He lets her flop around for a while, cutting up some fruit and dried meat to bring over on a tray with two steaming cups of tea before joining her at the table.]

So if you're like, dyin' or something' at least lemmie know so I can plan a good funeral.

[Even if people are somehow coming back from being dead??? It's still worth giving Kaoru a good send off!]

[She would be here taking up space in his house even if he weren't offering to cook for everyone. Of course, if that were the case the first words out of her mouth when she comes in probably wouldn't be Rin, I'm starving quite as often.

She looks up and pouts. (Though she's glad that Rin could tease her like that now. It's much better than when she first met him.)]

I'm not dying! [She considers burying her face back in her arms but...food. She reaches out to take a piece of fruit instead.] ...it's probably worse than that.

Izuku

[The idea had come to her after the FRIENDSHIP TOURNAMENT. After all, she had offered a flying date to a stranger as a prize but had never actually taken any of her friends flying. Well, except Rin and Kirishima, but the former had really been more of a kidnapping and the latter and intervention because of talking furniture.

In short, both times hadn't actually been for fun. It was something she would have to fix.

She'd chosen to start with him because, well. He'd made them that nice meal and he'd been such a good sport when she dragged him into that game of Hot or Not. And friendship was supposed to also be giving back too!

But of course, she's not using the door like a normal person but knocking on his window instead. If he wasn't home her next step would be to let herself in and ambush--surprise him when he came back.]

[Kaoru, why are you like this?? Thankfully, Izuku isn't working on anything too important when the knock at his window makes him jump and draw a line across the notebook paper.

After a second of confusion, Izuku crosses the room and pushes the window open.]

A-Akashi-san? What are you doing here? [At his window, specifically.]

[Because she thinks it's funny? And speaking of things this girl finds funny...

She's leaning in, her hands on the window sill, still grinning ear to ear.]

What if I told you you're about to be the victim of a kidnapping?

[She was...distracted. And not in her usual 'oh look a pretty girl!' sort of way. More of the staring into the distance while she walks sort of way.

Which is why she walks right into a tree after sighing like...four times. But who's counting anyway!?]

Ow! [She rubs at her forehead with a grumble before looking around and hoping no one saw that--oh.

She waves her hands around.]

Um. That wasn't what it looked like! [Because she's not sure if it's better or worse to be seen walking into something by someone she knows...at least she's sure Sorey knew she didn't normally run into trees but on the other hand now he did know she did it at least once.]

Hey, watch-- [But alas his warning is too late. When he's spotted he gives a little wave before running up to where she is.]

Are you okay?

[He knows Kaoru can be a little clumsy--considering how they first met--but she hadn't been responsive to anything before walking into tree. It was a little worrying...]

You should be careful. You could've wandered into the forest like that.

[He knows you're perfectly capable, Kaoru, he just worries.]

I'm fine, I'm fine! It's not like I was running or anything... [She's more embarrassed than hurt.] ...and I would have noticed before I ended up inside the forest!

[Probably...maybe.]

I wasn't that distracted...

Quest 18 w/ Dex, Izuku and Shiho

[Naturally, when she spotted that particular quest she had wanted to do it with Shiho. Not so much because of Shiho's psychometry but for the chance to wear a mask and pretend to be pretty teenaged thieves!

Even if she didn't end up finding a mask. And they ended up having to call other people to fill up the numbers (why couldn't Aoi be here too?). And Dex and Izuku weren't even wearing dresses!]

We should all be dressed up like magical girls if we're going to steal something called the Moondrop Heart.

[Is she pouting? Yes, yes she was.]

Magical girls?

[ this is going to be a long day if kaoru needs to explain magical girls right out of the gate. izuku and shiho and kaoru all seem to come from approximately the same time and place, or at least approximately the same kinds of worlds, while dextera… not only is he the only adult in this group, he’s not even japanese? help him. he’s going to be lost. ]

[Izuku chokes a little, torn between amusement and embarrassment at the idea.]

Akashi-san, please. [And...right, Dex would know anything about magical girls, would he?] It's um, sort of a thing we have in stories back home. When girls get magical powers somehow, and they have these dresses that they wear...

Quest 16 w/ Maribelle

[So like, unicorns! Kaoru is pretty sure she meets the requirements for this and she's never gone on a quest with Maribelle so she's excitedly bouncing on her heels as she waits at the well for her.

When she sees her she's waving excitedly towards her.]

Maribelle!

[Maribelle isn't alone - she's brought her horse with her, though she's not riding it. Instead, she's gently leading it by the reigns.]

Easy, darling, I'm not going anywhere. I do hope I haven't kept you waiting.

[A horse! Kaoru's eyes are wide as she watches it. She doesn't get to see horses up close often (or at all, really).]

It's fine! A girl is allowed to be fashionably late. [She should probably ask first but Kaoru is too excited and when they're closer she's trying to reach out to pet the horse.]

Quest 16 w/ Keigo

[She sitting on the lip of the well humming Over the Future to herself as she kicked her feet back and forth. She's definitely watching out for anyone who seemed to recognize her...since she doesn't even know what he looks like.

So she'll just have to wait for him to show himself.]

[Keigo still isn't sure how much he should worry about this quest. It sounds like approaching a unicorn should be completely safe for him, but what if there's something different about this particular unicorn? But that's what his partner is there for.

The smaller problem of the moment is how to introduce himself to someone who only knows him as an invisible man. He wants to be memorable to make up for that time. If she's on the lookout for him, it'll be hard to ignore him walking directly towards her as soon as he sees her at the well, so no element of surprise. He settles on a bold stance with his arms flung out when he gets to the well.]

Here I am!

[Ah. Was that him? She tilted her head a little as he approached.

When he did that pose she had to cover her mouth to stop from laughing because...what was that entrance even? She may not have been entirely successful at hiding her laugh but she tried.

She's smiling at least, even if she may be just amused.]

There you are! [She pushes off from the well to stand on the ground again.] So this is what you look like when you're not invisible...

Chimera Quest w/ Shiho

[Kaoru loves finding any excuse to hold Shiho's hand so. There was no way she wouldn't do this quest with her.]

Think you can find this thing, Shiho? [Of course you can and she knows it to from the way she's grinning.]

[Shiho's hand tightens just a touch around Kaoru's and she grins right back.]

I could find it even if it was cowering somewhere begging for its life.


[Then with a tug she's leading the way.]

I should just bring you along to all these quests. Then we don't need to waste time looking for these things.
