he full moon hangs brightly over the Town, hovering so low that it almost feels as though you could reach out and touch it. It should be comforting.[ They're about to make a disgusted face at whatever he dropped, but - no, that light is much more attention grabbing. Not only because its familiar, but because its a well needed resource, draws them in like a moth to ...well, light. ]
Dextera. [ Slowly, they let out a little sigh of relief, shoulders relaxing and blade lowering. The light from his hands is refreshing in the pitch dark, and illuminates their shiny crystal features so that they can't be mistaken for anyone else, if their voice wasn't enough. ] You're...what are you doing out here.
[ He didn't really seem like the werewolf slaying type, based on their last impression of him, so they can't help but wonder what he's doing poking around in the dark at a time like this. ]

[ They take his hand gently, making sure to push themselves up most of the way so as not to pull him down with their weight. ]
I just didn't expect it, is all... nothing has tried to bite me like that before.
[ None of the animals around here seemed interested in eating them, so they thought they'd be in the clear for most beasts. They take a second to brush off their clothes now that they're standing, only belatedly giving his sword a look. ]

[ Despite recognizing the other, they can't help but continue scowling, quickly working to re-alphabetize the books so they can stack them correctly while they speak. ]
Yes. My planet doesn't have wolves. [ that’s plenty. the light refracts off cairngorm, onto the trees, and there’s a moment where it looks like the eyes of a wolf—but dextera only makes that mistake once, with a flinch, and he commits what that looks like to memory. ]

[ They'd probably be a bit more concerned about how the light refractions might draw the attention of wolves if they 1) knew about wolves more and 2) weren't convinced that they'd probably be way more attracted to someone covered in blood holding dead animals than some shiny jewel light. So they don't care, tilting their head to the side at his words incredulously, the movement of which only makes them glimmer more. ]

[Yusuke watches him for a long moment... and then he continues to rummage, picking meticulously through every plant close to him, staring at them intently. He’s multitasking so it takes a moment to reply: ]

[ cairngorm had sounded, at least to dextera’s ears, briefly relieved to see that it was him and not a wolf… but this is rapidly starting to feel like dextera is the worse option between the two. he’s not used to cairngorm’s curt tone, even now, even if he knows that they’re not a bad person. they’re just straightforward.
