[You know, at this point, Izuku's probably already used to Guren's surprise visits, so when he opens the door, he merely looks curious (heh) more than anything.]
Sensei? [Izuku pulls the door open further so Guren can step inside.] Did something happen?
[Always assume the worst, when it comes to this place.]
[Aha.. training. Izuku knows better than to protest, not that he would, and just seems to perk right up at the promise of a lesson .]
What kind of training? [For a second, he basks in the familiar feeling of actually wanting to learn. He's missed it this entire week, even if he hadn't realized he was missing it at the time.]
[Wherever he is, Guren has found him... Because he's Like that and just won't go away, of course. It was about time to refill some of the blood for Mika as well as Crowley, which is how he found out his blood turned black to begin with. But, there's more than just bugging him about that to do.]
[ Of course he is. But, honestly, Crowley isn't going to complain, the least amount of effort he has to take to move around and find someone the better. Guren is a face he'd much rather see over someone like Ferid, even if the first topic that leaves his mouth has the vampire's expression immediately going sour. ]
Why? [ Immediately defensive. He knows where this is headed. ] Shouldn't you be more concerned with feeding me first.
[He's so mean, but he really wants to say something like "haha, you sound like a baby bird." Except, it really is cruel that the blood is all black, and he can understand the desperation.]
It's all colorless, sorry. But I've got some, so calm down. [But first:] One of the quests involves finding invisible sheep. You're not a yellow, but you could probably help them all out.
I know that, but it's not like I'm looking at it when I bite into your neck. [ Seeing blood in shades of grey rather than red is definitely an abnormality that goes a little beyond what he's used to -- which, for a vampire, says a lot. However rather than focus all his energy in questioning as to why this world has decided to take yet another shift, he uses... a good tenth of it listening to whatever Guren has to say. ]
What am I to you? A dog? I'm not just going to roll over just because you told me to, why would I ever help them when they should just be doing it themselves?
[Here they are, in the middle of the forest, on a search for... invisible sheep. Guren has stopped in place, hands on his hips, sighing, because really, how is he supposed to find these things? They haven't found tracks, yet, but it's discouraging when you know your target is invisible.]
[Of course it's discouraging when you approach it like that, Guren! Emma is focused on looking for any tracks at all. There should be a good amount of them, right? Do sheep even like hanging out in forests...]
I don't see any perfectly grazed pastures but they can't hide from us forever. [even when they are invisible.]
That's probably not a good idea. I did that last time and we didn't get anything. [Except for dinner but it'll probably be harder to eat invisible meat.] I really could have used some soap too.
[She's mostly joking around too, but she is determined to do this one correctly! She tilts her head, thinking about it.]
I would think so. It would really be impossible to find them if they didn't actually leave tracks or make noises.
[He notes that strain, but he doesn't know her well enough to comment on it just yet, so he stays silent, eyeing her notebook, instead.]
It's going fine. How about you? Have you been able to integrate into your patrol group yet, or were you holding off for a better time? Things are just settling down.
[Wherever Fushimi is in the house today, Guren approaches him with a brief knock on the door frame to announce his entrance. Yata's room, kitchen, whichever.]
[ Fushimi says it, in the kitchen with a cup that's more hot water than coffee, but he closes his laptop all the same, bringing his elbow down on the lid and turning to look at Guren.
Fascinatingly, despite Yata being back, Fushimi still looks like absolute shit. The bags under his eyes could be entire civilizations, at this point. Thank god for glasses. ]
You know how you can sleep without actually sleeping, when you're really tired? [ God, that's practically a speech coming from Fushimi, at this point. ]
It's better than nightmares. [ Admitting that he's having them is... easier than it has any right to be, because it's a gross weakness, but -- well, Fushimi has sort of adopted Guren as a stand-in captain, so that means Guren should just be well apprised of Fushimi's weaknesses, right?
...also, it's not like the entire house didn't figure it out pretty immediately. ]
[It's late. It's really late, actually. Close to midnight, Guren is sure, but it's been a week of trying not to come over too much but still coming over enough to make sure Dextera doesn't think he's being avoided, and it's driving him a little crazy. He can't get to sleep, tonight.
He'd been staring at this quest for the better part of the week, and so he sneaks out of his house and heads to Dextera's. He doesn't knock on the front door, as usual, but this time, he knocks lightly outside of Dextera's room, just in case he's sleeping.]
[ dextera can't sleep either, for a few reasons. he occupies his days with things that are genuinely quite fun, meeting new people and learning new things, but that quest has been on his mind too—and with guren coming over a little less, for obvious reasons, he doesn't have the distraction of those impromptu sleepovers to keep him from dwelling on that "worst memory."
he never did tell guren what he saw. only his interpretations of it all, of the consequences of the worst day of his life. ]
...?
[ he shifts, from where he had been sprawled out on the floor, staring at the ceiling—he assumes, first, that it's noctis or joshua, but when he sees that it's guren here so late at night, he has to think something is wrong. ]
[He smiles just a little, almost sheepish at the intrusion as he lets himself slip inside. He shuts the door behind him, and his hand moves automatically for Dextera, watching dimly as it's held back by that same force. He lets out his breath from that quietly.]
I thought you'd be asleep, actually. Everything okay with you?
[ dextera watches, too, since he expects it by now—whatever that curse is hasn't yet faded, and the longer it goes on, the more it seems like they're going to be stuck like this forever. will he really never be able to touch guren again? not to mention all the other terrible things that the people around him have been dealing with. can't minato sleep? won't noctis get to see his friends?
it has to change soon. it must. ]
... [ it takes him a moment, still watching their hands, but he nods. ] Thinking.

[He smirks, though, because of course Izuku would guess that, and steps inside as soon as the chance is given.] I'm here for more of your training.
[He always hypes it up and then it's never fighting... Sorry Izuku]

Hey. [Always with this greeting. It's like he came out of nowhere?] Working hard?

[ ... Except no, she's working hard. On a notebook from the bag beside her, apparently. ]
How's it going, Guren?
[ Honestly, her smile's almost the same as the last time they met, but there's a faint hint of strain to it now. ]
