t first, it seems a little too simple for a true test of morals. Don't eat, don't take, don't look? The most basic of requirements. And with guides, it isn't too difficult at all to avoid those obvious pitfalls.

At least, until the Town's suddenly far, far too empty, almost eerily so -- until there's nobody there but your fellow reds, or blues or yellows, in a town that is far too big for just a portion of the people there.

And that's when the true test starts. Good luck.

No, I haven't. [ she looks down at the pile, humming, and does see something colorful and, more importantly, cube shaped. she picks it up and shows it to him. ] Is it this one?

Yeah. See how all the colored squares are mixed up? You might like this thing...it's a game. Basically, you twist [ he demonstrates with his hands in thin air ] and mess with it until you make it all solid blocks of color on each side. It...might help with the distraction from not eating?

Oh! So it's a three dimensional puzzle. [ that makes it all the more fascinating to her. the sheikah tribe was said to make puzzles of a similar nature in their shrines ~~(and they were motion controlled)~~ and her eyes light up with excitement. ] So the cube is solved when all sides are a single solid color. Sounds simple enough. Would you like to help me then?

I can help with like suggestions, as long as I don't touch it...at least, I'm pretty sure touchin' it would be failing. I have no idea how nitpicky the rules are, you know?

We have been given very little guidance on these trials, it's true. Though I suppose that might be why the bird has come from our dreams and into reality.

[ she huffs and begins twisting the cube, as she focuses to collect a number of green squares into a clump. ]

Do you do these often? It seems like a fun game to take up the long winding hours.

I haven't in a long time. The last time I played with one was three years back, about. I had it in my room - anyway, my room hasn't been, like, available to me? As of late.

[ his part-dog bff has his room, and also his planet. ]

I went in it like a few months back just before I got here but I didn't really grab anything from there, or take the time to indulge in some cubic puzzling.

So you're not home often? I can understand. I haven't been home in a long time as well.

[ and though she had the choice, she made her decision to leave the castle behind. it may as well be a large-scaled mausoleum now, for all that has happened in it. ]

It's sad to hear you didn't have the time. You don't strike me as more than ordinary boy, but I guess everyone must lead busy lives.

I can understand. [ there were plenty of times she wishes to be ordinary. life doesn't always work out that way. ] But that must be different here, at least a little. Away from our lives, from the duties we burdened.

Sometimes I wonder if you can ever really get away from that stuff...but yeah. It's a little removed.

Not entirely, no. We carry them in our lives every day. They shape us, and inform us. [ she continues to twist the cube, getting a little frustrated with how it isn't really going anywhere. ] You can't outgrow yourself. You simply carry on.

Would you ever try if you could?

...Absolutely. But I was not meant for such things unfortunately.

[ she smiles, and then she realizes that she managed to get the cube to one solid green on a single side. but... her smile quickly deflates when she realizes that the other sides are still mixed up. ]

I have to say I'm very impressed with the scholar who made this cube! I'm very frustrated by it already.

Haha, right? I mean, it can be a pain but it's like...it's a thing to keep your hands busy, I guess. Sometimes when you can't sleep you can grab it and work on a little more, and then a little more, and then when you do finally manage to get it perfect it's like holy shit, accomplishment central!

By the sound of it, you've been in that position yourself before! [ said with a light touch, as she stops fiddling with the cube and instead gives it a good toss in her hand. ] You wouldn't mind if I keep this, would you? It could help keep my mind off things.

Nah, of course not. I mean, I can't touch it without failing whatever the hell this is, sooo...Someone ought to use it, you know?

Splendid. I'll do my best to solve it then! Though it will give me quite a bit of trouble, I think trouble is what I need right now.
