WHO: Clark and Dave, Clark and You! (potentially also Rin, Mafuyu, Maya, Joshua if you wanted to thread things out) (possibly Summer for a roommate meet!)
WHAT: Clark's just trying to help out, okay?
WHERE: All around
WHEN: second half of May
WARNINGS: none so far!
He's already tried escaping. Via the air, of course, but neither up nor over had gotten him anywhere. Literally. Since then, he's been trying to take in this place, understand something about the people here and the situation as it stands. The whole thing stinks of magic, which of course is not really his favorite thing in the world, but it's a strange and different magic from anything he's familiar with.
He'll be looking for someone heading into the woods as he's going to try and explore there, see what other flora and fauna are to be found. He'll be wandering around town, including the various districts, to get a feel for each area and how much work has been done there.
He has plenty of concerns, but he can't help that he's also terribly curious about some of the things people have talked about. The boy who'd mentioned 'hero schools'... The girl who'd admitted that she too was an alien. Perhaps it's the El in him that even though he misses his home, worries for the Earth without him there, a part of him is fascinated and curious about this new landscape.
He's been trying to keep busy, trying to still help people. He's been messaging people about where he can contribute and he's been working on some of those that he'd said he might, like the cheese and the soap and the toothpaste. These things require chemicals, though. Chemicals he'll have to try and find in the rocks and plants and animals in this place.
So really, there's no telling where you'll find him. But feel free to say hello to the massive (but oddly not intimidating) new guy in the glasses.

All the more reason to be surprised that the place was found so quickly, and there's a call of 'just a second!' after the knock from somewhere inside. A second is more like a minute before the door opens, Rin in a slightly stained shirt with his perpetually messy hair pinned back at his bangs and fluffy black tail swaying low to the ground.
He grinned toothily, easily revealing fang-like canines with it.]
'Sup!

Rin? I'm Clark.

[Said tail is now wagging excitedly as he moves and lets the door open further. The house is still not in the greatest shape but the inside is relatively clean, furnished with a lot of antique and old looking furniture and smelling heavily of recent cooking.]
so sorry thought I'd replied to this!
I figured it's best not to waste the time. I'm sure you're very busy.
all good!
[Naturally resources were limited so he couldn't quite get out three square meals a day for every single person, but he ensured that at least one big one was given to everyone that came by.]

[ He starts undoing the buttons of his shirt, rolling up the sleeves.]
I'm happy to do any prep you might need.
no subject
Uh, yeah! Sure! Didn't think you were gonna jump right in but hey, I like it!
[Yes Rin is totally doing finger guns at Clark. That just happened.]
Anyway, should probably get yourself familiar with the kitchen. It's kind of a mess in the cupboards right now. Don't got much I can organize with and some things still need to be fixed or replaced, but I've got it mostly workable.
no subject
Maybe what I can do is get the cabinets organized. That'll teach me the kitchen and help us both get things a little neatened up. Sound good?

Even with the working being generally quiet for the time being, Rin does find himself smiling and even humming softly. His tail is even wagging a little.
After he finishes up a little more prep, though he pauses and stretches his arms over his head.]
Want somethin' to drink? I've got some tea.
no subject
[ Despite all the work, Clark doesn't look sweaty though he is a little dirty from cleaning up. He heads for one of the sinks to wash his hands. ]
Should I get that made up or did you want to? I don't mind, if you'd like to sit.
no subject
Yeah, if you don't mind!
no subject
He'll settle to sit with him once he's done. ]
That all right?
no subject
Yeah, perfect. Thanks.

[ He takes a sip of his own tea. The heat doesn't really bother him.]

[He's happy to do it, though. It gives him a purpose here when all he's been doing for the past year has been school, training, and dealing with insane missions.
It also distracts him from his less than pleasant thoughts about home.]
no subject
Cooking is a full time job just about anywhere, but here, you're supporting an entire community.

And my friends.
[ He sips at his tea thoughtfully for a moment before smiling a little, mostly to himself.]
Cooking was something I could do for her. And for them. It's one of those things you don't entirely appreciate until you don't have it.
[ This hasn't been the first time for him, after all. But it always hits hard.]

[It's a weird 'duh' moment. He knows there's actual adults around. His team leader is one of them. He just feels like there's an unusual number of under-eighteens around here, too.]
I taught myself when I was little. Yukio always did great at school, got along with everyone... I was the exact opposite. I'unno why I picked it but it seemed like cookin' was the only thing I was ever gonna be any good at.

[ He sips a little more from his drink.]
And then there's me, who decided to be a journalist.
no subject
I get it. I sure didn't see myself becomin' an exorcist.
no subject
[ Sip sip. ]
I'm assuming you're a little more hands on than simply sprinkling a little holy water and chanting a hymn or two?
no subject
There's a whole school that trains kids to be exorcists. My class ain't big but we work together pretty well.
[Or. Did. They seem to be losing classmates left and right lately.]
