Intro Log.

It's raining, it's pouring. The old man is snoring. He bumped his head and went to bed And he couldn't get up in the morning.

ou wake in knee-deep water, cold as ice and stagnant, in a space that is far too echoey and spacious. It feels like a massive cave, but looking up... there's only one small, circular opening that shows grey sky and shines any sort of light. It looks like a long trip upwards, a small cylinder with walls of brick that's just a little too high to reach, even when jumping. Getting out is probably going to be a bit of a task, especially considering the water is more than cold enough to make limbs go numb. The dark makes it impossible to see much further, but the space seems large, all filled with water, but with no other way out, stone walls the only thing for an intrepid explorer to find. Oh, and to make things even better, it's raining today. Water from below (though thankfully only like, knee-deep), and water from above... how fun. But most importantly of all... you're not alone. Welcome to Awash's second intro log, everyone! Please review the FAQ and rules before playing. New characters have all woken at the bottom of the well in the middle of the town (which seems a lot bigger on the inside, somehow), and it looks like they'll have to put in some work to get out. Thankfully, they have some friends on the outside, this time. Once out, they'll be free to explore the various locations the Town has to offer at will. Just try not to die on any of the far-too-rickety walkways. Please feel free to ask any questions here and don't forget to greet your fellow players here!

I'm not sure how to make curry bread. I did swing by the garden so I was going to have potatoes and some grilled veggies. Would that be an acceptable compromise?

potatoes are the best! you can put potatoes and veggies and everything into a pot and make stew! we just need to find a lighter and were set

I have the fire part covered at least. So stew works as a wish?

I'm not sure, since I haven't tried this mission before.

Can you get to Flavo soonish? I live there and I'd prefer to cook in my own kitchen.

anyway if she shows up Eventually she'll find annabeth periodically calling out for mafuyu from her porch.

[ Orange is a blessed color and Mafuyu zooms directly in on that, because she's so used to her name being called with a disapproving or threatening tone, she's more or less used to tuning it out. ]

I'm here! I'm here for lunch!! No backing out, okay!?

Wasn't planning on it. I kind of prefer eating with other people anyway.

So, have you done anything exciting so far? [ i.e. do u have any deets ]

[ Her threads haven't moved fast enough for deets but she did have to be rescued from the well eight times thanks to timeline bs. Those weren't exciting times though-- ]

Talkin' and stuff, mostly, but did you know? It's super easy to get food around here! All you got to do is ask and people will cook for you and isn't it weird? [ gestures at Annabeth and her shared compulsion for cooking, which is at least for the sake of a quest ]

It's stuff like this, probably, that makes it so nobody wants to leave. Don't you think that's weird?

I wouldn't say I don't want to leave. I absolutely do. But you do have to eat even when that's the case.

[ this can't become a lotus hotel situation or whatever...

but, like. have to eat. :| ]

Yeah, but not stuff like stew. ...Please still make stew, though.

[ actually-- let's go to the kitchen and get everything cooked and served before it sounds like Mafuyu isn't willing to stay long enough to get fed, because she absolutely is. In the meantime, though, Mafuyu chatters on, hanging onto the countertop and staring at the stove like it's magic. ]

I mean more like... I thought more people would be gathering up portable stuff. Candy bars and cookies, you know? Stuff you can carry with you on a long hike to wherever the next large city is.

[ as long as it doesn't look like mafuyu is going to touch the stove itself to burn herself annabeth will let her be... ]

I've camped out a lot over my life, so I'm used to making do. And without knowing where we are - especially if where we are is supernatural - an expedition is a little hard to plan. It might still be what we end up doing, but it doesn't have to be option one.

Sound fun... But we don't have to know where we are, right? If we all keep walking, we'll get somewhere eventually.

[ Everybody just pack up and leave. Seems simple enough to her. ]

Where the harbor is, there's houses out there in the water. We could all pack into those and set sail?

We could, but sea journeys usually take even more preparation. And are maybe unwise without at least a general map?

[buncho]

What else do we need except life vests and food? We don't need a map either, 'cause we're just trying to get "anywhere but here." Kinda hard to miss.

[ And then they're stranded for 23405896 days, but they've got a house? It'll be like a very long vacation, with all the comforts of home. ]

We would run out of food eventually if we didn't find anywhere but here - or water, which is more important. It's pretty easy to die at sea.

[buncho]

It's the ocean! All there is is water! And there's fish everywhere too— we'll just... have to hack off the extra arms or whatever.

[athenite]

You...can't drink salt water. At least it's not the kind of water you need to live?

[ CHILD... ]

Humans need both salt and water to live.

[ Is she wrong? ]

Drinking salt water kind of dehydrates you. And can lead to death by dehydration?
