[This sort of quest seemed simple enough for Kaoru to handle. After all, how hard could it be to catch some geese...? And it just so happens she did know a few people who had red hexcodes!

She may or may not be gungho about doing these quests because of possibly getting more food.]

Do you think we need some kind of bait? What do geese even like anyway?

[Food is always a good cause, but Akira is aware that the quest didn't say to kill the geese, so for now, catching is the order of the day.

He contemplates her question.]

...Bugs?

[She probably couldn't bring herself to kill them anyway.]

Geese eat bugs? [That's the first she's ever heard about that. She's not doubting him, but she's a bit surprised.]

But we need to catch a dozen of them...how many bugs are we going to need for that?

[Akira probably could, since they're weird blue geese... luckily they don't have to, though!

And he has no idea if geese eat bugs. Isn't that what a lot of birds eat? Seems reasonable enough.]

...Twelve bugs?

[Even if they're weird you still shouldn't kill them!

She laughs.]

So we only have one bait for each goose? No room for mistakes? [Then again, bugs were pretty abundant...] Maybe we should do bird calls. But for geese?

Ochako: Quest 7

[Okay, so far she's only done these quests with guys and while she liked her friends well enough, she's used to working on an all girls team so this team up almost felt more natural in many ways.

Plus, this team up was definitely cuter and that was Very Important. Naturally, her feet aren't even touching the ground as she's hovering three feet off the ground as they're setting out.]

Look out world for the newly formed, super cute duo: the Dust Bunnies!

[Who is she announcing this to? No one in particular. Just to the world at large or any geese that might be listening. Sorry your partner is a dork.]

[Girl! Time! Ochako is all smiles as she walks alongside her floating friend, because she's positive that this is going to be a blast. Catching geese sounds so easy! They'll wrap it up in ten minutes flat and spend the rest of the day chatting.]

Yeah! I'm glad that you really like that name. Maybe we should start hopping everywhere!

[If Kaoru is a dork, then Ochako is an even bigger dork...]

Now there's an interesting idea! And we can wear some kind of matching accessories! Maybe rabbit ears?

[Honestly, she thought playboy bunny suits would be perfect...except where would they even get something like that?]

[With as many times as Kaoru has called her cute, it seems only fair to call the other girl cute, as well. Plus, she's... literally imagining the other girl wearing cute, floppy ears with her normal clothing? What is a bunny suit, anyway? She's pure.

But HMM, geese. That's a good question, and she tilts her head as she thinks.]

We should look for water, right? Deku-kun said that there's a lake somewhere out here, but... we shouldn't get too close to it. It's dangerous.

[Like literally everything else about this town? This place is the worst.]

[Being called cute by a cute girl made her smile wider and made her feel like puffing out her chest.]

We'd both be so adorable we'd be unbeatable!

[What does cuteness have to do with being unbeatable? Who even knows.]

That makes sense! You'll always find animals near water...especially geese!

[She did pay attention during their survival training...even if she hadn't remembered it immediately.] So where's this lake?

[It makes absolutely zero sense, but Ochako happily nods in agreement. If they were an actual hero team... jeez, she's positive that they'd have more advertising offers than they'd know what to do with. Annoying, perhaps, but there would be so much money to be made...]

I'm not sure? Deku-kun found it after he walked around for a while, but I don't think that anyone has seen it since. Maybe we'll find it if we just keep walking... or if we listen really closely for the sound of geese.

[HONK HONK HONK is going to be hard to miss in this eerily quiet forest, she thinks.]

Caramia: Quest 9

[Cooking was something she had meant to start picking up.

She had started off by trying to learn to make an omlette in middle school and...that was it. She could now make an edible if nowhere near palatable omlette...and that hardly counted as cooking. Her lack of culinary skills seemed to have followed her all these years and she's never...come even close to being able to cook something that didn't turn out blackened and terrible tasting.

It could be that she refused Minamoto's help when he offered to teach her. But she had a good reason for refusing! it wouldn't be a surprise, after all, if he helped teach her.

Still, she had to finally admit that she probably wasn't going to learn without some help.

Which is why she's here, rolling up her sleeves like she's getting ready for a fight.]

All right. Let's do this!

Emma: Quest 9

[Kaoru had always known how much they depended on Minamoto in their day to day life, but coming to this place gave her new found appreciation not only for the work Minamoto put in but the conveniences of modern day life in a bustling city like Tokyo.

Still, moving along the path towards adulthood meant not just whining about these things but learning how she can be more independent! So she was more than happy to take Emma up on her offer to teach her to sew (though she had meant to start much earlier but, well. Then the Shadows Happened). She's arrived with a couple of dresses that she had wanted to make the skirts shorter on. There's a knock on her door even though Kaoru had no hands free to knock with. Being a psychokinetic had its benefits!]

[The cottage is small and covered in bright fairy tale colors, surprisingly well cared for considering only Emma live here. Since the visit was expected Emma shows up right away to answer the door-

And backs up right away so Kaoru can come in and put the bundle of clothes down.]

Hey! You sure found a lot around town.

[A good haul indeed.]

Hey! [She smiled brightly as she stepped inside.] I spent a lot of time looking! But there wasn't a lot of variety in the end...

[Kaoru had been stubborn about finding something cuter so she had kept up the search for a long while. At least it gave her more clothes besides her work uniform.]

Where do you want to do this?

It's not as easy when there's no color to pick from. [It's a good thing shoes and some of the clothes are popping back into color out of no where.] At least black and white always go together!

[Emma leads the way (it's literally the first room) to the open living room which shares space with a wood fire stove and cooking area. Homey cottages don't have a lot of choice. She gestures to some, beat up, but serviceable chairs and table. There's a little pile of her own projects tucked away in the corner.]

This is the biggest space in the house so we can spread out and work in here. Is there anything you want me to move around?

Right? [And she didn't even try to coordinate outfits because...what was even the point?] But wearing black and white all the time is boring...

[Despite her the Children's uniform making her look like a cosplayer it was at least light blue.]

No. I think it's okay like this. [She's looking around and setting her clothes down on an empty space on the table.] Is there anything I shouldn't touch?

[Emma laughs a little at that.] That's true. My uniform used to be all white. Boring and it got dirty so quickly!

[Of course, she didn't really think that way until she got out and tried out different clothes. She dresses like a kid that never had to coordinate colors though. The outfit she arrived in was a yellow jacket and green checkered shirt...

She pulls a chair up to the table and gestures to the small collection of needles and threads she has scavenged.]

Nope, you can use whatever you want! Do you know how to thread a needle?

[Does she even need help when she can just psychic the thread through the hole perfectly?]

Dextera: Quest 9

[Luckily for Kaoru there were no shortages of skills she could learn. After all, she was just sixteen and a special esper at that. She didn't exactly have that much spare time to engage in different hobbies after school.

Still, this was...a bit different. Apart from the quest the main reason she was here learning to play chess was because if she returned home she could impress Minamoto (maybe...? Then again his face when he was playing online was pretty terrifying...).

She's staring at the pieces on the board with a frown.] But why is the king so useless? I get that the queen is powerful and kicks ass but shouldn't the king be a bit more useful?

[Honestly, just learning how all the pieces moves is so complicated...why couldn't it be more like checkers?]

[ dextera laughs, at that. she's pretty straightforward about it, but he doesn't mind—it's a valid question, even if it's not one he's ever thought about. he takes a moment to consider his answer, and pulls over the laptop he's set out so he can communicate with her without much issue. the screen is angled so she can see his text, conveniently! ]

He's not useless. He's just a sensitive piece. If the king were always moving around in the real world, it would make him easy to ambush, don't you think?

Hm...I guess. But if the king could fight then he wouldn't have to worry about being ambushed.

[She reaches out to touch the king with her fingertip briefly. Looking thoughtful.]

Like the Chief. [Did she mean the person she named was useless or that he was strong enough to defend himself if he were ambused. Who knew? (The answer was both.) Then she pointed at the knight.]

Um...how does this one move again? I don't think I really got it...

[ the chief! dextera doesn't know who this person is, but he is left to wonder if that's supposed to be an insult or a compliment. the king is an important piece regardless of kaoru's opinion on him, but it does color her comment somewhat.

instead of typing right away, when she inquires about the next piece, he shows her the available moves. it jumps! that's the most exciting part about it. ]

Knights are the best in the center of the board.

[ he pauses, and a look of remembrance crosses his face. ]

[Well, Kiritsubo was important! But he also had no powers and was sort of weird. But then if people came near him thinking they could ambush him he could totally take him out!

That's a weird way of moving but seeing it was easier!]

Knights, huh...like Tim and Bullet, then. [She's laughing when she says this. But it's not a mean sort of thing.]

That's a useful rhyme... [But the way he seemed to...suddenly remember it was a bit weird.] Where did you learn it from?

[ dextera doesn't know, exactly. it just occurred to him, a voice in the back of his mind that wasn't his own—as if it was taught to him by someone else. another member of the koriel, or someone even before that? he's not sure.

he shakes his head. ]

I don't know. I think someone told it to me when I was younger.
