Ouni ; spider-hunting

[Calling up Ouni was probably not that surprising for Ouni these days... but Minato's just grateful that he agreed to come with him. Honestly, Minato knows that Jorogumo are actually very dangerous, because he's pretty up-to-date on his folklore from home, but...

He needs the distraction.

Mitsuru is still gone, Ryoji is a stone statue, and even if he thinks it's likely Ryoji will be fine and that Mitsuru went home (thanks to Keith's post), he's still worried.

A distraction via a brawl sounds great to him. So into the woods they go; Minato's being (possibly thankfully, in Ouni's perspective), especially quiet today.]

[In a sense, Minato's more... tolerable than others, albeit in a way that Ouni can't quite decipher (or rather, doesn't want to—it means thinking more deeply about things than he'd like).

He, on the other hand, has no idea what the hell a Jorogumo is, but it doesn't matter, because whatever it is, he'll kill it?? Problem solved???]

[For once, Ouni's... actually the one talking...]

[Ouni's talking!! Minato blinks, tilting his head a little as he's shaken out of his reverie, looking at Ouni properly.]

I've never seen one properly, because they're mythological where I come from, but.... [Hm.] It should either be a giant spider or a...very pretty woman.

Uh... yeah. The woman can shapeshift into a spider. And vice versa.

Instead, it's a beautiful young woman, barely dressed. Minato...blinks.]

Well, okay, that was unexpected. Anyway, after a moment of pause, Ouni's power flares up, because whatever, the enemy's state of dress doesn't matter!!]

[... Yeah, Minato's not going to argue Ouni's concern, considering what he knows about jorogumo. Instead, hesitantly, he moves towards the woman, a slight frown on his face.]

Hello...? Are you lost out here?

[She just...casually shifts to try to expose more of herself. Minato... kind of blinks. Uh. Er. No... don't do that.]

... Sorry, I'm not interested.

[Uh.

Yyyyyyyou know what, Ouni's just going to try and slice her with his thymia.]

[Holy shit Ouni.

Minato can't even say anything before she's getting sliced and diced--

Except she's not. She's morphing immediately into a giant spider, skittering away from that dangerous slice. Minato staggers backwards, lifting his own sword to try to brace himself when she lunges again.]

[Oh, good—so this is the enemy they're looking for.

In any case, whether she's in the form of a spider or a human, it doesn't matter to him. He won't hesitate.]

Stay back!

[Because he's moving to cut her apart again, this time various swirls of dark aura moving to cut through the spider's legs.]

[Oh.

He obediently does take a few steps back, though he mostly reaches for his Evoker; there's no way he's going to leave Ouni to fight the thing on his own.

Ouni's aura is successful, of course; two legs fall from the trees to hit the ground, still twitching, and the jorogumo screams, before it skitters up higher into the boughs.

It's.

Going to lunge from above, this time aiming for Ouni, as the primary threat.]

[Thanks, Minato, even if Ouni insists it's completely unnecessary!! He doesn't need help!!!

This is where Ouni might fire off a witty one-liner about the thing being stubborn if he were someone else, but this is Ouni, so.

He's going to use his thymia to try yet again to slice the jorogumo into a bloody mess, but just in case (and because also he doesn't really need to get himself covered in gore), he's diving out of the way??]

[The spider's pretty sliced and diced by then--but it's fighting back with the desperation of a dying creature, so it's probably good that Ouni dives out of his way. For Minato's part, he's immediately lifting his Evoker.

He doesn't get far, though, not really, before the jorogumo slowly slumps to the ground, finally succumbing to the wounds Ouni gave it.

And Minato has to...admit... he was definitely not even remotely needed here.]
