[Yeah yeah, teamwork makes the dream work, awesome, he will bump the HELL out of this fist.]

Yeah, but you kicked it with your super boots and it went flying!

[Very cool. In the background, a lady rises... maybe they'll stop praising each other and notice...]

Oh, yeah. [Izuku glances down at the armor he'd added to his outfit, smiling slightly.] I had to change my fighting style to kicking instead of punching pretty recently. Broke my arms too many times when I was still getting used to my quirk.

[He says that so casually and sheepishly...

Finally, Izuku seems to catch on that something isn't quite right when he hears a rustling behind them. He whirls around, about to shout a warning to Okuyasu, and then...stops. The youkai, in her lady form, stares at the two of them.] Haven't you hurt me enough?

[pursestrings]

Broke your— [arms, the fuck?? But that train of thought is interrupted by the sound and subsequent arrival of... not gonna lie, a pretty girl standing up from where they definitely put down a youkai just a minute ago. Uh.

Hmm.

Well. Okuyasu stares for a moment, then shakes his head. Hold up!!]

No way, I don't mess with monster chicks! Hey— [Izuku, are you with him, come on--]

[inheritance]

[Oh boy...whatever competence Izuku had before definitely just fled out the window. How do you deal with girls???]

U-um, definitely not! [Yeah, that's super helpful.

Meanwhile, the spider lady just sidles closer to her prey.]

[pursestrings]

[IZUKU... bro, you've betrayed him at the worst time. Learn to talk to girls?!]

Aw, c'mon— move, then!

[He'll handle this himself, he guesses, unless Izuku wants to snap out of it and help!! He marches forward with The Hand, because he will definitely hit a girl if she is a spider monster on the down low. Which won't be nearly as flashy or effective as Izuku's kick, but when the youkai is masquerading as a human, knocking it back isn't as hard...]

[inheritance]

[Look. He's never had to deal with girl monsters before! It's a learning curve!

Still, Okuyasu's voice breaks him out of his shock, and Izuku dashes before to join him.]

Let's do this together! You take one side, I'll take the other?

[pursestrings]

[Oh nice, a combo move... yes, he's definitely into the teamwork angle.]

Hell yeah! You go left!

[And he will go right! This will probably be more like Okuyasu punching the youkai into Izuku's line of fire for the final blow, but hey, it will look cool as hell.]

[inheritance]

Got it! [Off he dashes to the left and then turns on his heels and waits.]

Ready when you are!

[The spider-turned-woman is still trying to talk to them, but it's a little easier to ignore her when Izuku can focus on attacking. The woman, apparently realizing that they're not falling for the bait, starts changing back into her spider form and charges at Okuyasu at the same time.] Nijimura-kun!

[God, could this be any more gross— Okuyasu abruptly realizes he's misjudged his punching distance here and so goes for the next, even more ridiculous thing: when the youkai is in range he closes the distance to meet her spidery badness head-on, grabbing a leg- The Hand also grabs a leg- and, well.

Spins. Okuyasu and The Hand are spinning this spider, using the momentum from her charge to swing her around and launch her towards Izuku, that's really what his second plan is.]

Take her out!

[If there's one thing Izuku's learned while studying at UA, it's how to improvise and go with the flow. So when Okuyasu switches things up, Izuku takes it in a stride.

Smash!! His kick makes contact again, and this time, the youkai slams into the ground mercilessly from the force.

Izuku lands a short distance away, watching it warily.]

[pursestrings]

[Nice Kick 2: The Kickening. Okuyasu watches the youkai as well, ready to grab for it again if it moves—

But no, this time, it looks like it's down for real. At least from here...]

Oi, did we get it?!

[inheritance]

[Cautiously, Izuku inches over and then checks the pulse....nothing. He closes his eyes for a moment, fighting back the wave of regret. It's a youkai that has only wanted to kill them. It was created by the forest for that purpose... even knowing that, he still feels guilty for using his powers to kill.]

...I think it's gone this time. [Izuku stands up and walks over to Okuyasu.] Are you okay? No injuries or anything?

[pursestrings]

[Okuyasu, for his part, feels absolutely no regret about totally wasting a monster that wanted to kill them. He'd do a victory pose if he wasn't grossed out by the youkai, so he'll just pause to pick the last of those web strands off his hands, finally...]

Nope! I'm good as new. You good?

[inheritance]

Yeah... it didn't really land a hit on me. [But there's a bunch of spider webs in his hair, though, so he'll just... start picking those out...]

Let's head back to town. [Though he knows they've completed the quest, his thoughts still linger on the spider. So he distracts himself with what he loves best--talking about powers.] It was really great seeing The Hand in action! That was really cool, Nijimura-kun!

[pursestrings]

[He sure has a bunch of hair-webs... Once they fall into step together to head back to town, Okuyasu just reaches over and ruffles his hair to get rid of some of those. He's helping!!]

Yeah— sure, The Hand's pretty sick! I'm just winging it most of the time.
