MOSTLY OPEN [action & network]
WHO: Vriska Serket and YOU, plus some closed prompts.
WHERE: All over, really.
WHEN: May 2nd for the prompts in the body of the post, but I'll probably also put up closed headers for the rest of May and use this as a catch-all log as well.
WHAT: Vriska's been a statue for a month. She's going to wake up confused and deeply unhappy. Please hit me up at
heartfuls for plotting if you'd like to plan a specific thread, i am 100% open to anything!!
WARNINGS: A foul mouth and an upset teenage disaster with god powers. Anything can happen if you just believe??
[ CLOSED to Minato ]
[ She wakes up.
... first of all. She wakes up, when she doesn't need to sleep and doesn't remember trying to go to sleep. With no real clear idea of why or how or what the fuck, she just kind of abruptly comes back to herself while standing on her feet.
She is so baffled by this state of affairs that it takes her a second to notice the ... rest. The rest, which is: 1) like two blankets wrapped around her, 2) a sign hanging off her neck??, and 3) her hair feels DISGUSTING, why IS that.
Never once in her life and death has Vriska been okay with losing control. And the dawning realization that some Really Weird Shit Must Have Happened without her even knowing does not exactly make her happy. Her expression undergoes an amazing transformation from blank confusion to apoplectic rage in record time. ]
.... Minato? MINATO? [ shrill. very shrill. and loud. she at least recognizes that she's outside their hive when she looks up and boy he better have some kinda answers. ]
[ OPEN to all ]
[ The answers are not satisfying, regardless of what they actually are.
Whenever her talk with Minato ends she'll end up going towards the center of town because it's the best place she can think of to yell at the largest possible number of people all at once. ]
WHAT the FUCK is WRONG with this FUCKING TOWN? I HATE THIS FUCKING TOWN! WHAT THE FUCK!
[ YOU. yes you. god, why did you walk past her range of vision, that was a mistake. ]
EXPLAIN.
[ ... explain what. she doesn't specify, instead just pointing furiously at your face, so, like, take that as you will? ]
[ NETWORK open to all, #005682 ]
I HATE THIS ST8PID AWFUL TRASH HEAP PI8CE OF SHIT 8ULLSHIT TOWN!!!!!!!!
There is 8IRD SHIT in my H8IR and I swear to god I am going to FUCKING KILL whoever 8rought us here!!!!

You will! You will, because they all do! And that's really fucked up of me to say because no one knows better than me that I drove them all off, over and over again, but-- fuck, why don't you get it? I'm bad news. And I'm not saying that to -- to sound like some badass, Minato, I really fucking mean it! You don't manage to drive off someone like J--
[ jjjjjoh fuck.
vriska abruptly stops talking, tugging at her hair again. not as hard, but hard enough that the repeated motion probably has to hurt, right? ]
This was a mistake. Big idiot Vriska, fucking up again making you feel like--
[ ... ]
If I told you to leave me alone, would you?
no subject
[Minato says that quietly, but firmly, reaching out to carefully, gently try to rest his hands over her hands--not to try to pull them from her hair, but to try to encourage her to at least stop tugging quite so hard.]
I'm sorry if that's troublesome for you, but... I don't want to leave you alone, Vriska-chan.
[So he won't. He's staying right here by her side, just like he said he would.]
It's okay if you don't trust me yet, or don't believe me that I won't leave. I'll just have to prove it to you, until you can believe me.
[He has the time and the effort to do that now--and he will.]
no subject
In the end she just stares furiously at the floor, hiccuping as she tries to get control over her breathing again. ]
I don't, [ she says, short and sharp. ] Trust you. I barely know you and you're probably just -- just some soft-hearted loser, so-- so--
[ ... hiccup. wretchedly: ]
So you better prove me wrong or I'm going to be really pissed!
no subject
If he can at all do good now that he has some time again, he has to do what he can, doesn't he?
So quietly, but firmly:]
I will.
I'll prove you wrong, so that you have reason to trust me someday. Just wait and see.
no subject
Sure, whatever! God. What is it with all the cute boys in this town that don't seem to be fazed at all by suspicious broads with dangerous pasts?
[ reaches up and
pushes on
his face
because that's a sane and rational way to defuse the awkward tension! ]
Go be cute at someone else, you're grossing me out.
[ You've become friends with Vriska!
Vriska will now die for you. ]
no subject
But also, wow.
He's shoved back by that hand on his face, at least a little, blinking--and then he just shrugs, tucking his hands back into his pockets.]
... Yeah, okay. I'll see you back home anyway, later.
[So it's fine? It's fine.
Vriska can't escape him.]
no subject
... and then: ]
Wait. I need someone to tell me what the fuck I missed.
[ she's so tired ]
no subject
He just reaches out, and tugs at her sleeve idly.]
Come on. I'll tell you everything, but let's go back to the house for a bit. [It's not like there's any great rush on getting anywhere in this place...]
Is there anything in particular you like to eat? Some of the food has color and flavor now, so it's a lot easier to eat.
[He'll cook!]
no subject
No. I don't actually need to eat so you don't need to waste anything on me.
no subject
You don't need to eat...? Does that mean you can't eat at all, or...?
[That she just doesn't have to? The distinction is important--though for now he's just leading them both towards the few seats they have in their home that are actually fixed up and not going to break. Furniture!!]
no subject
why can ghosts get congested? no one knows. ]
I can, but I don't need to. It's part of the fun of being a ghost, you see.
[ drawled, at least a little, but her mood is improving, bit by bit. she will throw herself into one of the seats and curl up in the tiniest possible ball she can contort her body into. ]
no subject
Are there certain kinds of food that you like?
[That's what he's getting at here. Sometimes, having a nice meal can be a good mood booster too.]
no subject
something about the shape of her expression changes. she doesn't smile or anything, but the lines of her face soften, a little. ]
Sure, but I don't think it's anything we have here. Trolls have pretty different diets from humans. Seriously, I'm okay.
no subject
I'll ask you about it later, then.
[He's!! Determined!! To feed her!!
Though for now, as promised:]
Let's see... it's been about a month, so... I guess you missed our shadows trying to eat us.
no subject
[ minato. ]
no subject
[Yeah, just...roll with it. He gestures to his shadow, being an innocent shadow on the ground.]
They were playing tricks on us to try to stress us out or hurt us. If they succeeded enough...they would eat the person who they were the shadow of.
I'm kind of relieved you missed that, honestly.
no subject
... I ... guess I'm also relieved I missed it? What the fuck. You didn't get eaten, did you?
no subject
[He's at least quick to reassure Vriska of that. After all, it was just that other people got eaten in front of him.]
Don't worry. There was just a lot going on, that's all... sometimes, it really does seem like weird and dangerous things happen in this town.
no subject
idly she chews on one of her nails, taking a moment to snort at poor minato. ]
Sometimes? Please. This town is a death trap waiting to happen, and we're all just squealing little rats caught in the snare!
no subject
But also, that's...]
Isn't that kind of a grim way to look at it...?
[He shakes his head quietly.]
I think, sometimes...that this place reminds me of a cry for help.
