[OPEN] Town Hall Meeting

WHERE: City Hall, Ruga
WHEN: April 15-20th, and then April 21st
WHAT: Town Hall Meeting #1, as announced here
WARNINGS: Expedition discussions may not be pleasant

[ Like much of the town, the old city hall building sits on unsteady legs. Brick and stone chipped away by time, or lack of care, but the building itself is still standing, roof mostly intact. It stands out from the buildings beside it, columns lining along the front windows and dilapidated steps leading up to the main entrance. It needs some work, but it's big. It will do. ]

I know a couple of guys that could make good use of that. I think they've been fishing, too, so getting together with them to set up a stock is a great idea.

Hell, if you guys set up a system I'll be more than happy to hunt more meat to preserve with it.

I know Noctis fishes, and I've met one or two people interested in learning, but more folks would be great! A stock of food that won't go bad quickly is really, really important I think.

[They can probably reuse some of the food jars once they empty them, but ultimately they needed to be careful about their supply situation regardless. Eventually they might not be able to easily collect fresh food, for one reason or another.]

Someone who knows how to hunt is perfect for that, too! Do you know how to preserve meat? Make jerky and all that stuff?

You're not wrong. Not knowing exactly how the weather will turn or what the animal habits are yet might make it difficult to keep scavenging in the future.

[There's a measure of relief that there are so many people here who know even a little something about building a community to survive in an unknown place. Nyx could take care of himself, but his knowledge wouldn't have applied to everyone here. He doesn't know how to grow a garden or make food actually have decent taste. Working together benefits them all.]

I know the theory behind it. It's not something I've had to do since I was much younger, but I knew people in my village who would regularly have meat preserving for the storm season. I'm most familiar with short term preservation.
