[open] It's a (very belated) birthday log!
WHO: Kaoru, Shiho and friends
WHERE: Town hall
WHEN: Last week of February
WHAT: It's Shiho's birthday
WARNINGS: None probably.
I: Food!
[What is a party without food? Kaoru can't cook but she happens to know people who can! There's even a cake! She may have borrowed a table from another house for the purpose of keeping the food.
Though, oddly enough, there's also a small card (all of them different colour and sizes, some of them looked like they'd been gently folded then ripped along the fold) beside each dish with a number on it. There's also a list (all handwritten in pink), with the same numbers all listed on one side and lines beside it like something you should fill out.
On the top it says: Guess Who Made This Dish!
Are you here to play or are you just here to eat?]
II: Games!
[There is a hastily written sign on one side that says: NO DANCING.
But every party needs entertainment so beside there is a sign with game suggestions like: Truth or Dare, Never Have I Ever...or maybe you'd like to take your list from the food table and see if you got more correct than the person beside you!]

But you know what does work? Suddenly asking her what she would want for her birthday. Because how is she supposed to roast someone who asks that!?
Her expression is surprised but then looks a bit like she wasn't sure what to say. On some level, she kind of wanted to try that thing Shiho and Aoi always did with their dads where they asked for something unreasonably expensive and then when their dads hesitated tell 'you don't love me anymore! Dad I hate you!'.
...but she's too embarrassed to do that!
So she just laughs a little. Because, regardless, she is happy to be asked that.]
Oh, is that all sensei wanted to ask? Anything is fine! It's not like we can go onto Am*zon and order something.

He wants to be able to do something that isn't extremely dangerous for Kaoru. Lightly tapping the fan against the back of his neck, he agrees that they can't access Amazon in this realm. And if we could-- would that be like Ultra Premium Pass to get it? Costs only 8000¥ per month!! Buy now!!
Shen Qingqiu hates the fact that he thinks his family could afford that! ]
Anything is not fine. While we may not have the means, there must be something you should be looking forward to as a gift. [ He's not one for parties or gifts, but he knows that for Kaoru, he wants her to look forward to her birthday and the present she's been hoping for. ]

Kaoru's family could afford it as well, and she'd be more than happy to pay the fees if it meant she could actually BUY STUFF.
She had a moment to reminisce about her disreputable youth...i.e. when she was 10. And she'd ask Minamoto all sorts of ridiculous and, often times, unreasonable stuff, because she was trying to prove a point. That if she just pushed hard enough he'd get fed up with them like all the others.
She's long since grown out of that habit though.]
But I really can't think of anything? [Nothing that she'd ask him for anyway. Except...] Both my mom and my sister are really busy with work. Their schedules are really hectic and not to mention they get into scandals pretty much every other month and then need to find some obscure place to lay low. So, before I met Shiho and Aoi, we almost never celebrated on my actual birthday and sometimes I might not even see them at all. So...I'll be happy as long as I get to celebrate with everyone.

But the wish to be able to be with everyone, he smiles softly. As usual, he reaches his hand out to lightly pat her on the head. It's tough, right? ]
Then ... we'll all be together. [ Or try to be. Life was funny in when a person may suddenly disappear. He supposes that he's gotten quite used to it and isn't bothered at all if it happens. But still, it would be nice to have everyone together for such a celebration. ]

I can't wait! [Though Shiho's probably going to spearhead the planning.]
