Who told you so, dilly dilly, Who told you so? ‘Twas my own heart, dilly dilly, That told me so.
ouch is one of the most intimate, romantic ways to be close to someone else. The Town knows this very well -- the Town wants everyone to be as close as possible.
Perhaps that's why this bonding is so...aggressive.
Because you're in for quite the shock on this otherwise peaceful day when you brush against the next person on your path.
Maybe you're going out of your way to touch people. Maybe you've got a terrible urge to just see what's lurking in someone's heart. Maybe you trip over a conveniently placed rock -- whatever the cause, you're getting an up close and personal look into someone else's heart.

[ what goes unsaid, however, is that he doesn't feel the same way. He finds himself questioning whether to believe Lupin's judgment or his own on this matter. Subconsciously, Berkut is so accustomed to being watched that the feeling his heart projects continues to go unnoticed. ]
No kidding. Something's watching us. [ he keeps his voice low as he hustles back to Berkut's side. ] ... It feels that way, anyway, but I don't see anyone...
[ odd. Usually, no one can escape Lupin's notice; he's a master thief, and has a keen sense for these things so as not to get caught. ]
Then let us remain vigilant while we investigate the interior.
[ they go inside. The castle interior has long been abandoned; but to Lupin's trained senses, the walls seem to come alive as the feeling of being watched intensifies. Although many of the doors have been rendered inaccessible due to age, the paths they can take are still numerous. ]
[ he sticks close by Berkut in case this presence actually decides to make a move. It's odd; there aren't even that many places to hide in a desolate ruin like this. He can't pick out where they're even being watched from. ]
I am certain. Now speak no more of this nonsense, and let us be off.
[ because the idea of there being an evil spirit lurking within Rigel Castle's halls strikes him as utterly preposterous, Berkut doesn't wait for an answer before he begins to walk. His chosen path takes them down a corridor with naught but rusted weapons discarded along the walls. An odd loneliness pervades the air, as if urging Lupin to seek solace somewhere in the cold castle. ]
[ it does sound totally stupid, and Berkut's sharp rejection only reminds him of how stupid it sounds. Evil spirits have become way more viable to him after living in Chroma for so long; he almost forgets that it sounds ludicrous. Almost. Still, he follows after Berkut. The loneliness is a little easier to bear than the feeling of being watched - he'd always preferred the former to the latter. ]

If this is true, we must locate that presence.

You are certain of this? Unlike you, I feel no eyes upon us. Perhaps you are simply unaccustomed to the . . . castle's atmosphere.
[ he frowns. ]

No, I don't think so. I'm a bit of an expert when it comes to things like this.

What do you think? Are we still under watch?

Maybe... Do you have monsters in your world?

There are beings known as Terrors in Valentia. You won't find one here.

Are you certain? If there was something like an evil spirit, maybe...

I assume you know where you're going?

[ . . . a version of them, that is. ]
As for our destination, it seems we'll just have to look around until we find something.
[ the question is, what? Or whom? Panicking won't do any good, so Berkut summarily clamps down on such alarm. ]
