ouch is one of the most intimate, romantic ways to be close to someone else. The Town knows this very well -- the Town wants everyone to be as close as possible.
Perhaps that's why this bonding is so...aggressive.
Because you're in for quite the shock on this otherwise peaceful day when you brush against the next person on your path.
Maybe you're going out of your way to touch people. Maybe you've got a terrible urge to just see what's lurking in someone's heart. Maybe you trip over a conveniently placed rock -- whatever the cause, you're getting an up close and personal look into someone else's heart.

[ The attack hits, engulfing the creature in flames, and indeed it is a very burnable thing, as if the shadows and its monstrous form is only for show. It howls in pain and staggers...
But it makes one last-ditch effort to lunge and throw itself at the both of them. Setting it alight is all well and good, yes, but it's going to try to take both of them down with it! ]
[ Pyra is thrown to the side and over it, catching the ledge before she falls completely. Above she can hear the sound of Maribelle struggle, and the roar of the monster...
What is she doing? Just staying here, not-- not fighting for herself. Sure, this is some twisted version of her memory locked deep within her heart, but she is not as she was back then. She can-- she can actually fight back, she can make her own decisions!
With a shout Pyra lifts herself up over the edge and rushes towards the beast, giving it a swift kick into its side, flames and all.
Now, it goes flying off the edge-- flying and.. falling, falling all the way back to the earth......
She can hardly believe it after it's over. Breathing heavily, she finds that she is shaking at what she's just managed to do. Pyra swallows, and then turns in worry. ]
M--...Maribelle? [ Is she alright? That thing had been completely on fire when it had tackled her. ]
[Maribelle lays on the 'ground', groaning in pain. She had tried to fend the creature off with her hands and feet, but that resulted in significant burns. Then the heat got to be too much, and she's close to passing out.
Her tome lays sprawled out beside her, also burnt to a degree.]
[ It seems that this is enough to satisfy the challenge of her own heart-scape, and so the illusion begins to fade around them... but Maribelle's wounds do not. ]
Maribelle! [ Can't she--... heal herself? She has to stay awake for that!
Pyra does not have a healing ability, but she'll be able to transfer a part of her power to her in the process. Maybe with it, Maribelle might be able to stay awake and use her own healing magic. ]
[ And fortunately at this point the last of the heartscape fades, and the final stars of space above them within Pyra's heart flash out of existence. Now it's only the restored-blue sky of Chroma above. ]
Maribelle, can you heal yourself? Or do you need to bring me to another healer?
[There's relief at the familiarity, and with great pain, she continues trying to get up, despite her burns.]
I... I cannot heal myself. In my world... Nnngh... magic is... composed to giving energy to other things, and... other people. It cannot be used on... augh... yourself...
[ She doesn't know of where he lives though....!! ] Do you know his color?
[ --And yeaaaaah, no, Pyra is going to just go for sweeping Maribelle up into her arms to carry her. With any luck, they might not even need to find where Akira lives; he could be wandering around somewhere! ]
[ And with that, she'll be off, heading towards Ruga.
Akira. Akira Kurusu. She's never heard of him, but that's not going to stop her from trying to find him. It helps that the community in Chroma isn't particularly large; surely even if she just happens to come across someone else who lives in the area, it's likely that they'd know of him.
As lucky would have it, it doesn't take long to find someone sitting at one of the empty cafes. ] H--hey! Over here! We need... [ A pained look. ] help!
[ She'll be running up to him, and if that's not alarming enough, he'll see that she's carrying an unconscious and very badly burned Maribelle in her arms. ] You--... do you know of an "Akira"? I need to find him... He should be able to heal her!
[The call is enough to get his attention, but when Akira sees the person in Pyra's arms, he quickly gets up off his stoop, running to close the distance between them.]

[He confirms it, as he looks over Maribelle. He doesn't know what happened to her, but she's clearly badly injured, with burns visible on her body.
Even as he looks, he's already transformed from the clothes he was wearing into his black thief outfit, complete with long coat, red gloves, and white mask. He reaches into his soul to awaken Sarasvati.]
[ Pyra looks at him in surprise as his clothes are replaced within an instant-- but there's no time for questions. ] Ah-... here, her arms, her legs...
[ She has no healing abilities, not in this form. ...She cannot help her. ] She had entered my, ah, ...."heart". [ That's what everyone is calling these realms, aren't they? Hearts.
Hah, of course hers would hurt a dear friend so badly. ] And she was attacked by a monster that appeared within it. [ The guilt in her eyes cannot be denied. ] It hasn't been that long... can you help her?
[So people can be injured inside each other's hearts... It's good to know, though Akira wishes it weren't so.
He nods, though doesn't answer further. Instead...]
Sarasvati.
[The goddess appears behind him as his mask disappears, and he raises his arm towards Maribelle.]
Diarahan.
[A white light washes over Maribelle, and the burns begin to recede, as though they never existed. Akira watches, to see if another will be necessary. It's the strongest healing spell he knows, but it still might not be enough to heal her in a single cast...]
[ She doesn't know exactly what this youth's power is or what he's actually summoning but-- she can be grateful for him. Because it works, it clearly works, it works so well that Maribelle is actually coming to and--
She brings both of her hands in to her mouth in her surprise, tearing up. ] ...You... you saved her.
[ Amazing, truly amazing.
If there are people both like Maribelle and Akira around, then... Chroma is in far better hands than she had initially thought. ]
Maribelle--.... hold on, don't get up just yet. Take a moment to rest!
Yes-- I mean... no, no, I'm fine, I'm fine. Just worry about yourself for now. [ And really, she is; she's relieved, smiling, and looking over Maribelle with joy... and then she'll also begin to fuss over her, like brushing any loose strands of hair to the side of her face, or dusting off any of the ash from he clothes.
Of course, there's another glance back to Akira. ] Oh, thank you... thank you so much.
[He'll step back a bit to give them a moment. After everything they've been through, he knows they probably need it.
(Though, he does wonder what Maribelle needs by "taking it into consideration." It works, doesn't it? So what if he has to summon the spirit of a god to do it?)
