Who told you so, dilly dilly, Who told you so? ‘Twas my own heart, dilly dilly, That told me so.
ouch is one of the most intimate, romantic ways to be close to someone else. The Town knows this very well -- the Town wants everyone to be as close as possible.
Perhaps that's why this bonding is so...aggressive.
Because you're in for quite the shock on this otherwise peaceful day when you brush against the next person on your path.
Maybe you're going out of your way to touch people. Maybe you've got a terrible urge to just see what's lurking in someone's heart. Maybe you trip over a conveniently placed rock -- whatever the cause, you're getting an up close and personal look into someone else's heart.
Welcome to Awash's eighteenth event log, everyone! Further information on this event can be found here at the OOC post. You are welcome to make your own logs and posts for this event!
If there are any questions, please ask them here. Thank you!
Oh no no, it's okay, you don't have to apologize for anything!
[ Jion flaps a hand to dismiss the very thought. ]
I'm just ... really glad it's peaceful here. To be honest, the last time the town made us share memories I, uh. Well, I showed some people some pretty bad stuff. So honestly, as long as it's nothing like that, it's all fine.
[ Jion blinks, then studies his surroundings, giving a thoughtful hum. ]
Actually, most of the stuff here should be okay, I think? It seems to mostly be things I thought were cool about people, or stuff they told me about, things like that. Like, my commander -- [ pointing towards a stall selling a painting of an incredibly stern- and intimidating-looking man ] -- I'm pretty sure that's when I was first assigned to his squad. I was pretty scared of him at first, but he turned out to be really fair, and actually not that scary. So I really remember that first meeting, since, y'know, appearances can be deceiving, and all that.
Ah, that'd be my rank. [ Right, right. Stuff like that's probably different for every country, huh. ] It's, um, pretty low down the ladder, actually. Three up from the lowest? And we're not officers. Um, I guess it'd be more helpful to just say I'm a specialized medic.
Oh man, that's so much cooler than what I can do, though! [ He laughs, looking a little embarrassed. ] To be totally honest, I was kind of jealous when I first learned that there's people here who can do that sort of thing. You know, immediately make people better, instead of just doing first aid? I thought it sounded so amazing ... But I guess, realistically speaking, we're all just doing our best at a hard job, huh?
[Now now, it's not a contest... but it is a little boost to her ego.]
Not every world has magic, as I've been learning. So the fact that your men can continue forward despite such dangerous is something to be proud of. And healing magic isn't perfect either... there are things it cannot cure, and I can't heal myself.
In my world, using magic requires energy. In a sense, when I'm healing someone, I'm giving my strength to them. However, I cannot give strength to myself. Does that make sense?

... in that case... is there anything here you are comfortable to share?

You're a member of an army, then? Who do you fight for?

[ He gives a slightly lax salute, looking slightly sheepish. Being too formal in this context would feel weird. ]

Specialist, are you? What does that refer to?

[ That immediately has Jion's interest. ]

[ He's kind of surprised by that, and gives a wide-eyed blink before canting his head in thought, brow slightly furrowed. ]
I see. ... I see, that must make your job a lot harder, if you have to risk yourself to help someone still in the line of fire. That's rough.
