he magical vines creep ever onward, slowly infringing upon the Town. No matter how many are chopped down, no matter how many are set on fire, they keep coming even so.
And slowly, one by one, the people in the Town start to fall to the curse that they bring along with them.
Stay and tend to the cursed? Venture out into the woods to find the castle at the source of these vines?
Whatever you choose to do, you'd better decide quickly; the curse only seems to get worse and worse the longer everyone is afflicted.

[Capping the vial, he begins arranging things neatly and together for preparation to bundle them when it's time to go. After, he takes up Kisa's clothes and dumps them on the edge of the bed without lingering too long there.
Then he sits down on the floor with his back to her, facing away completely, arms crossed.] I told you to be more careful.
Where was the vampire this whole time? She should be your guardian.

I think... she also went to find a cure. Or maybe she went out... I've been sleeping a lot lately.
[ And still she's tired, though she does feel a lot better than she had. ]

Prudish politeness.]
You were sick. I wouldn't doubt you had a fever. [The whole mom hallucination and everything.] You were warm and delirious. Even if you're technically cured of the vines' ailments, you should stay in bed and rest.
[He still hasn't turned around.]
When was the last time you've eaten?
no subject
[ She's not actually sure. It's hard to keep track of time when you've been spending so much of it in bed. A pause, and-- ]
I'm dressed now, Damian.

[GOD!! The length of his shoulders tense without exactly hiking up very far. Logically, he realizes the reason for this is because she had been ill, but it's still too long. The biggest concern is staying hydrated, but he can't even know if she did that much.
Quickly, he starts plucking up the things on the floor, stacking and tucking them in the crook of his opposite arm. Clearly, he's on a mission.] Don't move. [He uses little more than his own muscle to pull himself up from the floor to his feet. He at least finally looks back at her.] If I come back, and you've moved, I'll--
[He doesn't know what kind of threat to give her.]
--I'll keep you as a tiger for an entire week.
[It just means he'll have to hug her for a week straight.]
no subject
[ Um.
Um????
Well, she doesn't move, and truthfully, she doesn't feel anything like moving, but more importantly, she's just looking absolutely flummoxed. ]
You'd, um, have to... hug me that whole time...?
[ BEWILDERED. ]
no subject
What's it matter?
[He's trying to dig himself out of this hole, but he's just shoveling more dirt inside on top of himself.] Nevermind. Don't move. I'll be back in fifteen minutes. [He's not giving her time to argue with his excuse. (He's not giving himself time to get more flustered.
Quickly, he spins around with all of the hoarded material and practically runs out of the room with it.]

Before she can say anything else, though, there he goes, leaving her to sink back under the covers and wait for him tiredly.
Poor Damian. ]

It takes maybe fifteen or twenty minutes. He comes back with none of the remedies, but with an armful of ingredients. Carrying something that's light and easy to eat is messy at best with the things they have. Kisa will be able to tell it's him rummaging around near the fire, thankfully.
And the better part: a minute or so after Damian returns, a black and white cat pushes its head around the door and thirrups as if it's calling. Pennyworth slinks in, tail lifting. He thirrups again as he jumps onto the end of the bed.]

Pennyworth...!
[ Long time, no pet! ]

Carefully, Pennyworth pads up beside Kisa for attention, but gets distracted kneading the shred of castle cloth instead of climbing into her lap. It's fine. He accepts pats while engaged in cat things. And, in the end, he ends up loafed there against her side.
The only reason is takes Damian a while is because potatoes are stupid and take some time to boil to tenderness. He smooshes what he has as much as possible. It isn't mashed potatoes so much as it's potato soup. It's probably sort of bland, but that's the best thing for her if she has been sick and hasn't eaten. He brings it and some water in, immediately furrowing his brows at the sight of Pennyworth.]
So that's where you ran off to.
[Betrayed. He thought he'd have company... but alas.] Here. [He holds them standing beside the bed. (He sees Pennyworth peeking, and he's ready.)] Can you sit up at all?
no subject
[ She's doing her best not to dislodge Pennyworth from his comfortable lodge, but it does take considerably more effort than usual to push herself up past her elbows. Her body's trembling from the process, but Kisa does succeed in shifting herself upright and propping herself up with a single pillow.
It occurs to her, briefly, that she maybe ought to care about how messy her hair is, or how pale she still looks, but. No, she's still too tired to fuss. ]
You didn't have to go... out of your way...

...Sierra. [Don’t call him out! He’s gonna try to dodge every wholesome, good deed.] It’s not as if this town really offers us much to do anyway.
[Even if he had wanted, Damian doesn’t try to help her sit up. His hands are full, and she has already spent some time as a tiger. What he will do is sit on the edge of the bed and offer to put thr bowl in her lap. Well, he moves it out and Pennyworth slowly stretches a white paw toward it, and Damian brings it back without jerking it.] No. It’s not for you. [He tries again, bopping Pennyworth’s paw.
He isn’t sure if she’s too weak to eat, but he’ll deal with that in a bit if so. For now, he holds the cup of water and waits for whenever she tells him she wants it. And keeps an eye on the cat.]

But Kisa wisely doesn't comment on it, and thankfully for the both of them, there will be no anime blowing on a spoon and making weird noises as someone feeds someone else, because she can definitely feed herself.
Shakily, but it's doable. ]
You've... been okay, though? You weren't feeling sick?
no subject
We gathered what supplies we could. Vials, potions, whatever.
But I found the curse from the vines is transferable through contact. [He glances up.] Which is why I drank some earlier. If you meet anyone else who is sick, don't get near them, and don't touch them.
