he magical vines creep ever onward, slowly infringing upon the Town. No matter how many are chopped down, no matter how many are set on fire, they keep coming even so.
And slowly, one by one, the people in the Town start to fall to the curse that they bring along with them.
Stay and tend to the cursed? Venture out into the woods to find the castle at the source of these vines?
Whatever you choose to do, you'd better decide quickly; the curse only seems to get worse and worse the longer everyone is afflicted.

Trap number b!
She is very, very bored though.
And her nose itches.
So, the moment someone enters the room (this weird torture basement is at the bottom of a set of stairs with a door at the top) - ]
Hello?
[ Fortunately, her raised voice echoes through the drafty room. Torture acoustics are very important for the modern evil baron on the go. ]

--Hold on, I'll... [ She's already rushing down the stairs when she notes that the blade above isn't moving at all. That alone gets a brief, confused pause, but only for an instant.
The next second, Pyra is at her side, undoing the knots to release her. ] Here. [ She offers the girl a hand up. ]

Pyrrha allows herself to be helped up, taking Pyra's offered hand with one of her own while the other rubs across the bridge of her nose quickly, trying very hard to look like she isn't scratching an itch. Legs swinging over the side of the table, she breathes a sigh of relief. ]
Thank you!
[ She ran the risk of falling asleep! Or, you know. Dying. (Again.)
Unfortunately, she briefly forgets her hold on the pendulum's blade and it restarts its downward descent, toward the two girls. Rather abruptly, Pyrrha shoves both herself and Pyra to the ground - because that's honestly quicker. Her Semblance doesn't come with a great deal of finesse. ]

[ She's defensive, immediately, but when she sees that the pendulum has struck against altar itself instead of either of them, her eyes widen. ]
...How strange that it just started moving again. [ She comments quietly, but then turns her attention back to the other woman, giving her a relieved smile. ] ...That was close, huh?

[ Nnnnnot a great actress, though. ]
We should probably get out of here.
[ Right on cue, the staircase at the far end of the room starts to retreat into the wall, the stone rumbling loudly. In a few seconds, there will be only the door high up, leaving them with (presumably) no way out. ]
no subject
But-- oh no! The staircase! She brings a hand to her chest, stepping back warily as if expecting something more to happen-- maybe the walls will crumble down on them, or the chamber will flood with water, she doesn't know!
But the pendulum dropping has actually given them a way out-- ] Looks like we're going to have to climb. [ Or jump. But Pyra doesn't feel like jumping right now. ] Will you be okay?
Sorry for the delay! The week got away from me
Pyrrha stands up again, cautiously braced near the table where she had been tied down mere minutes ago. If any other threats should jut out at them, she's prepared to go on the defensive, keeping the entire room in her peripheral vision. ]
I'm okay, thanks. [ Looking up, a thought crosses her mind - ] One of us will need to get the door open, though.
