vriska
[A twinge of embarrassment leaks onto his face as he pokes at the fire, not looking back to her.]
Oh, uh... [that was a loaded thing for her to say... Link doesn't know the answer to that himself, and Zelda aggressively wondered the same thing for a long time. He doesn't want to violate any of the Princess' privacy either; if Vriska is asking him something like this, then Zelda couldn't have told her the entire story.]
...I wish I could answer that for you, but I can't. I'm not sure myself.
[Without looking at her, he reaches over to grab the filled soup pot and lightly rifle through the items piled at the top.] Do you like frog legs?
no subject
... she seemed pretty happy when you got here, that's all. [ She'll leave it at that, letting him move the subject along, though deep down, she burns with curiosity. What's up with that???? ]
I honestly cannot say I've ever eaten any piece of a frog. That sounds gross!
no subject
Really? You might like it. Wanna try that first?
[He removes a small, paper-wrapped item from the soup pot, crusted slightly with frost. Inside is a dead but fresh-looking frozen frog, about the size of a baseball, mottled green and brown. Without hesitation, Link picks up a sharpened stick from the ground beside him and stabs it through the middle.]
I could put a little something extra on it for you. I found some herbs in the woods we could test out.
no subject
Sure! Why not. I came out to volunteer for whatever the hell you came up with, after all! What kinds of herbs did you pick up?

rin
[Link's cooking spot won't be difficult to spot - he's sitting outside by the dirt road that snakes in front of his village cabin and there's a plume of smoke rising from the campfire he built on top of the dirt.
When Rin arrives, he's got assorted items and cooking ingredients strewn about in the grass beside him, and a large soup pot sitting on rocks piled carefully within the fire, filled with slowly boiling water.]
no subject
He approaches in a few seconds at a jog, a backpack on, sword in its deep blue sheath and clad heavy hoodie with Pacman on the front in yellow. He lifts a hand in a wave, figuring this to be the guy he was looking for.]
I'm gonna say this happens after their demon hunting thread if thats ok
Hello! Good afternoon.

maribelle
[Whenever Maribelle arrives at Link's house, she'll find him sitting in the snow-powdered grass, nursing a campfire that he'd built on top of the dirt road leading there from the other districts. A circle of rocks were placed carefully around the fire to help contain the flames. Beside him is a soup pot and a large pile of assorted food items.]
no subject
Begrudgingly, Maribelle eventually arrives, carrying a knife, fork, spoon, and small plate. She tries to keep a positive face on, at least.]
You are Link, correct?
no subject
That's me. Although I forget whether I asked your name or not, miss... please forgive me.
[He points to a small chair he'd pulled outside when she said she was coming over, so she doesn't have to sit in the grass like he was.]
no subject
[Hand to chest, slight bow.]
I am Maribelle.
[there, with that said, chair sat! At least he got THAT right...]

ritsu
This is weird. He's not really embarrassed by the dress, but he's worried that the uncontrollable ice stuff could hurt somebody. So instead of heading to the well as intended, he peeled away and walked towards the Bluo district, with its long network of canals that opened up into the harbor. If anything was safe to freeze indiscriminately, it was water, right?
He's been here for three days now, making trips back home at night to sleep and coming back the day after. It's been a good excuse to explore a part of town he's never in, at least. This morning, he takes a seat on the edge of one canal, his legs and dress dangling over the edge. Sure enough, ice cubes start to form in the water below him.
But then there's bubbles, too. Huh? Is there something in the water?]
no subject
his best bet was, perhaps, imitating the method and just hoping for the best. it wasn't dawn, he was a bit impatient to get this over with, so he had tossed the knife with all his strength (and a little psychically assisted extra) and plunged himself into the water, and awaited something to change.
and something did. it was getting even colder than it already was why did the world hate him
ritsu spurts out of the water beneath link's feet, fingers trembling and holding himself for as much as that means in keeping him warm. (read: not much at all.) much like his hour of arrival, he was a soaking child with long hair over his face in a dress, glaring upwards at a stranger. did you do that on purpose!? ]
no subject
Unfortunately, the surprise of seeing the boy there seems to have agitated those nigh-uncontrollable ice powers of his. A blast of cold wind and snow flurries suddenly blows down from the surface of the water, and out of nowhere, a few puppets dressed like snowman come to his sides, as if ready to protect him.]
-- Oh jeez. Sorry, sorry. Hold on. [He clenches his teeth as the moment of surprise begins to pass and hurriedly tries to shove one of the puppets away.] No, go! Go on, shoo! Leave us alone!
[The puppet topples over while the other slinks away. Jeez.
Unfortunately that freezing cold wind is still blowing, though.]

even when ritsu manages a barrier, some of it definitely made it in. the enclosure also included the freezing water, so it was arguably a self-destructive reflex of his own. it was like a personal snowglobe of pain.
he removes it with a rush and ends with a shiver and chilled breaths hugs his shoulders. ritsu tries to talk, again, but unfortunately finds his attempt just now to end the little mermaid had failed. at this point, ritsu had half expected his luck to play out that way.
he should try clamber up huh... man he was drained right now. his hand grapples onto the side, he'll just give himself a minute while that wind keeps blowing in their general vicinity. ]

He follows the instructions he was given and ends up at Link's house. They've met briefly.]
Oh, so it was you all along. We met during that mirror event.
[He sounds like he actually has emotions now, instead of incredibly distant.]
no subject
He rises to his feet to greet him with a respectful nod.]
Yes, I remember. Are you, um, feeling better? You look better.
no subject
That's correct. My color has fully returned. It's been back for a month, at least. We simply haven't seen each other since the first encounter.

for ignis
A few people have already come by to see him, but at the moment, the chair he pulled outside for visitors is empty. He doesn't see Ignis coming, as he has his nose buried in an open scrap of wax paper, smelling whatever is inside.]
no subject
Just finished something, have you?
no subject
When he sets down the paper, Ignis will be able to see that it contains some kind of raw meat. Link pays it no mind as he gestures for him to take a seat.]
No, I was waiting for you. It was Ignis, right? Good to see you again.

for zelda
By the time Zelda comes around, he's outside of his house, mixing a large, moist wad of dough in a medium-sized bowl. In front of him on the dirt road is a small campfire surrounded by rocks and a soup pot sitting above the flames. A stick of butter is melting inside.
He looks up when he hears someone coming and a smile spreads across his face when his eyes land on Zelda.] Princess! Thanks for coming.
no subject
[ even with how cold it is, he chooses to cook out in the wild. her remark comes as she goes down the dirt road to the end where his campfire burns, the smell of wood and food mixing together and hitting her senses. it brings a small smile to her face. ]
Do you need any help? I feel a little silly standing around waiting on you.
no subject
Sorry. I meant to put this out before you got here. Is the fire warm enough?
