Event Sixteen.
![]() | |
she’ll never stuff in a size-six sonnet, her flesh so fulsome the slipper seems effete, unworthy of the labor spent on it.
Welcome to Awash's sixteenth event log, everyone! Further information on this event can be found here at the OOC post. You are welcome to make your own logs and posts for this event!

t's yet another day in which a bunch of characters ended up in the bottom of the well. That sucks. Of course, when you get up and start heading over to see if they're getting out of the well okay... you might find that it's a lot harder than expected.

[Maribelle is out riding her horse, it does need its exercise... and she's also dressed as your stereotypical prince charming, frills and tail-coat and all. She's surrounded by puppets, each one asking her to save this princess or defeat this dragon or whatnot.
She's not pleased.]
Will you leave me alone already?! I'm not a real prince, obviously! And why was I chosen to be one anyway? I am clearly a LADY, and I deserve to be treated like one! If anything, this stupid place should have made me a princess! NOW MOVE OUT OF MY WAY!
B - Be Prepared
[It is the job of a prince to fight the villains, be they dragons, witches, warlocks, beasts, so on and so forth. Maribelle has her offensive magic, so if this was one on one, she could handle it.
But it's all at once. So she can't.]
EEEEEEK!
[Cue Maribelle, running for her life from a horde of 'villain' puppets from several fairy tales at once. Help her or hide her?]
THIS ISN'T FAAAAAIR!
C - You're Welcome
[Maribelle is always the first one to complain when newcomers 'break' into 'her' house. So she's aware of the irony when she suddenly runs into the first house she sees and slams the door.]
I... I do apologize for the intrusion, but if you would just let me stay here long enough for them to think I'm gone...
[There's a knock on the door. "Brave Prince, she needs your lips!"]
She does NOT!
Wildcard
[Need a prince to save you from your troubles, or just checking in on your favorite snob? make your own prompt!]
B
It's instinct, not logical though that has him running after them. There's a brief mutter, under his breath that sounded like, 'you've got to be kidding me.'
When he's caught up to Maribelle he points to the side.]
Over there! There's a space between two houses, if we fight them there we can stop them from coming after us all at once!
[If he had been here longer he could have thought of a better place, but this is the best he can do at the moment.]
no subject
A-all right! As long as I can fire straight, my magic should work!
[That would explain the colorful tome under her arm?]
no subject
[He changes directions to run into the place he told her. The space is definitely narrow enough that not more than a couple of things could step in together. And there was an exit on the other end too, in case they needed to run.
He turns and puts himself between Maribelle and the direction he expects their pursuers to come from.]
I'll cover you! [He pulled out something from his pocket. It's covered by his hand, mostly, but it's clearly round and flat as well as glowing blue.] For the glory of Merlin, daylight is mine to command!
[And then in a flash of blue light he's suddenly wearing armour. The transformation can be flashier but the amulet can sense the urgency in this case. Also the big sword is missing, instead he has two smaller daggers.
And not a moment too soon because there's a witch coming into the alley now.]
no subject
okay there are so many questions to ask later. She shakes her head, holding out a blue tome.]
E-Elwind!
[The book glows, and a harsh wind blows, aiming straight for the witch!]
no subject
His only experience with magic was mostly...not like this. There were curses, traps and, recently, a very terrifying possession. Also whatever Claire's Shadow Staff did.
So this? It was new. But there was no time to ask about it because as the wind takes out the witch, there's something else coming. A wolf lopes into the alley and the crowd was visible now behind it, but, as he'd hoped it was a tight enough fit they couldn't all get in.
He snaps the curled hilts together and throws it like a boomerang (don't worry it will come back like one too). The puppet isn't a troll, but it's not that strong so the blades cut through it easily enough. It even knocks into something behind the wolf before making a return to him...but Jim wasn't paying attention to what it was because of what he saw behind it...]
...please tell me you have something that can deal with a dragon.
no subject
Wind and fire won't do it... But lightning might. That's a more powerful spell, so you can't afford to get in its way, or it'll hurt you too.
[With that, she begins switching out her books - blue to yellow.]
Are you ready!
no subject
He catches his weapon and separates them back into two daggers again.]</SMALL Ready! Just give me a signal!
no subject
[The book begins to glow, this time yellow!]
no subject
no subject
[And that's your signal, buddy.]
Elthunder!
[Her lightning strikes fast and hard out of the tome!]
no subject
The dragon was definitely not prepared for this and the magic hit it dead on. And it fell over backwards, crushing a few of the other puppets (which: ouch).]
Okay...that? Was awesome. [But he's also watching the entrance, now blocked by the dragon to see if anything else planned to come in.]
no subject
... Thank you. I don't suppose we can find a way out of this and onto some safer ground? I'd much rather take compliments then.
no subject
[He points to the opening in the alley behind them.] And after that I'd have to follow your lead. I'm kind of the new kid in town and I have no idea where a safe place to hide would be.
no subject
[Heads right for the opening!]
no subject
[Mostly muttering to himself! Feel free to ignore him!
He runs after her, letting her lead the way!]
no subject
We appear to have lost them... thank goodness.
no subject
Yeah. [And since they're in the clear, he lets the armour disappear, it fades away in a smoky blue light, leaving him with just a glowing amulet in his hand.] I still can't believe you just took down a dragon...that's insane.
no subject
Besides, I wouldn't have it made it that far without your assistance.
no subject
[Because that's impressive.] It was a team effort. [And he holds out a hand for a high five!]
no subject
I am a member of the Shepherds, the army of Ylisse... my homeland.
no subject
I don't think that's a place that exists where I'm from. What's it like?
no subject
no subject
[...but also.]
But what do you mean by...fixing the mistakes of the past?
