Joshua - Demon Hunting

[Joshua seemed like the most obvious choice to approach for this quest - Akira's seen how he can fight, and knows the both of them are pretty sneaky, so he thinks they'll work well together. And maybe it'll help keep his mind busy, given that Estelle is gone now.

So he'll be waiting on the edge of the woods where they agreed to meet up, already in his thief outfit. He raises his hand in greeting when he sees Joshua.]

Hey. Ready to hunt some demons?

[ Aidios knows Joshua could use some distractions, so an invitation to come stab things is more than welcome.

He doesn't look...great, when he shows up, but he's at least pulled himself together a fair bit from the day Estelle first disappeared. Emotional dependency is a hell of a drug. ]

I'm always ready.

[ It could sound like bravado, from some people. Joshua manages to say it like he completely means it, because that's the kind of edgelord he is. ]

Nothing that'd qualify as a demon, really. Monsters, sure. People, sure.

[ Some of said monsters - and people - were pretty nasty pieces of work. But they don't go to hell until the third game, so he's still got some canon to get through before the spawn of fantasyverse-Satan start coming into play. ]

Yeah. They exist as part of the human consciousness. When they forget, get corrupted, they turn into monsters, but once they remember, they can be really useful. That's when I fight with them.

We call them Persona.

Wow. That's...pretty deep.

[ That is definitely not how they taught this stuff in Sunday school, but okay, he also doesn't get why so many people here call an arge a "meter," so it's not worth dwelling too much on, probably. ]

It's pretty weird, even in our world. I didn't know supernatural stuff like that existed until this year...

But I doubt the demons here act like that, anyway.

You never know. It seems almost like this place doesn't really have rules of its own, sometimes - more like the things that appear and happen are just kind of...slapped together from how things work in all of our homes, or how we all think of things.

[ If Akira expects it, or even if it's just on their minds, it's not being conceiving. ]

I think it's definitely safe to say we have some kind of influence on what shows up here. Like those doors back to little pieces of our homes.

[ Thanks for showing his burnt crater of a village to the people who he almost convinced he was semi-normal, Chroma, it's always a pleasure. ]

Demons in my world are pretty much the fallen souls, fire-and-brimstone variety.
