Quest 40: Shiho

[She had been at Shiho's place in Ruga that morning, just casually looking at the quest when she sees...huh. That's a pretty interesting one she'd be interested in trying!

She doesn't close the laptop before floating it behind her as she makes her way back to the room she was sharing with Shiho.]

Shiho--eh?

[Where was Shiho?]

[The last thing Shiho expects in the morning is to wake up buried in what feels more like a sea of blankets and pillows than a bed. The bed isn't this big. Her hands.... are't this webbed?!


A small nub by Shiho's pillow starts moving as she hops, trying to free herself.]

Shiho!

[Is that Kaoru seeing the movement near the--nope. Kaoru's just calling her best friend's name in case she had gone somewhere else.]

Did she already wake up? I didn't see anyone leave the house...

[If Shiho had teeth to grit, she'd be gritting them right now.

Ribbit!

[She jumps again, trying to crawl towards where she sees light.]

[She turns her head because...was that a ribbit?

She floats over and lifts the blanket.]

A frog?

[She reaches out and picks up the frog with her powers...but gently.] Where did you come from, little guy?

Quest 40: Ryan

[Anyone would be upset to find that they had turned into a frog.

Kaoru was doubly upset though because of what this meant. WASN'T IT BAD ENOUGH HER FIRST TWO KISSES WERE DISASTERS!?

So she's just...sitting there out by the roadside, her little froggy hands on top of her face because...why her? Why?

Also like...wow. Kaoru As a Frog is really red...]

[That sure is an upset-looking frog, and... definitely an odd color? He knows things that aren't normal when he sees them, okay, and he knows what's on the list for this month.

Ryan crouches down beside frog-Kaoru, arms folded on top of his knees, peering at her curiously.]

Hey, um- everything okay? --well, probably a stupid question, considering, and I don't even know if you can talk but-- one ribbit for yes and two for no?

[...sure, the quest involves frog smooching, but he isn't here to just pick up and kiss a random frog without at least asking their permission first.]

[She looks up when someone speaks...oh hey. It's Ryan!

She hops up and down when she recognizes him. Yay, someone she knows.

Is she okay? How about...

Ribbit. Ribbit!

She hops closer to slap a webbed hand on his foot. Pick her up, damn it!]

Yeah, I kinda figured. Hang on-

[He leans down to scoop her up, holding her carefully; he's absolutely not going to forgive himself for dropping someone as a frog.]

This is going to be super awkward if it turns out we already know each other, huh? Not that it's any less awkward if we don't, I guess, but-- um. Is it okay if I try fixing this?

[There's literally no way to not make this weird, but he's out here doing his best.]

Quest 40: Okuni

[After the whole thing with Shiho it seems like once she decides on the quest someone will turn into a frog.

But who can be sure, right? So she's going to test it out! She decides to do the quest again and, upon seeing that no one in either of the houses she sometimes stays in have turned into frogs she sets out into the town proper to see if she can find who the unfortunate soul is!]

This is probably the nth or so time Okuni has turned into a frog, so she's just about ready to fight Mr. F in her frog form for cursing her YET AGAIN!!! (It's dependent on quests but whatever!!! give her any excuse to fight that guy she'll take it) But for now, she'll settle for trying to hop into this random person's window, just so she can wreck some more frog chaos.

And that's where Kaoru will probably come across a bright red frog climbing determinedly up and through the window sill. come help okuni trespass kaoru]

[She would 100% help her trespass that isn't even something she needs to ask, but right now, she's just going to come on over and tap Okuni on...the back?]

Hey.

[At least she's pretty sure a normal frog wouldn't be trying to get through a window...the question is, is this frog hers or someone else's quest...target...victim...thing.]

Need some help? [She offers an open palm for Okuni to hop onto.]

[WHO POKED HER -- oh hey, it's Kaoru.... Okuni decides not to start any kind of frog fisticuffs in favor of observing Kaoru's open palm, then Kaoru herself, and then finally primly hopping on because why not

Kaoru is trustworthy!!!! Though Okuni has to wonder if maybe possibly Kaoru is the one responsible for her frog state right now, but more importantly

She points an imperious webbed hand towards the window as if saying "kaoru, please fly us into this house so I can be the frog gremlin we both know I can be"]

[That or she's just pointing randomly into the room for some reason, froggy charades are HARD]

Quest 41: Jion

[Kaoru had wanted to thank him for patching up her uniform. The holes were small but this was something from home. It was, like her Limiter, something Minamoto had made specifically to keep her safe.

So she was thankful.

And then, there was that fairy godmother quest...what perfect timing.

So excuse her, Jion, but she'll be descending from the sky at some point while he's outside...and is she glittering? (Look, she has all these quest rewards hanging around her house she has to make use of them sometimes...at least she didn't bring the scythe along).]

Why, hello there~!

[ No offense, Jion isn't thinking about the repair job he did for Kaoru at all. It hadn't been too hard a task, after all, so he'd been all too happy to do it, and that was that! So at the moment, he's just outside near his house, sitting on a rock and spacing out and looking out at the snow as he sips at a mug of hot tea ...

... and does a small spit-take when Kaoru's suddenly just there. In the sky. Glittering. ]

Uh. Hey there! [ Wiping his sleeve over his mouth. ] I, uh, wasn't expecting you, what's up?

[She winks (and somehow manages not to laugh out loud at his reaction.] No one ever expects their fairy godmother~!

But you've been really good this year so I'm here to reward you!

[Is she your fairy godmother or is she Santa???

The real question is: why can't she be both?]

[ There's a significant pause before Jion perks up, the pieces finally clicking together in his head. ]

... oh! Oh, okay! I get you! Um. Thanks?

[ That last bit comes out as a question just because this is kind of weird. Is ... is she going to turn him into a princess now? Isn't that what happened in Cinderella? ]

Uh, can I ask what the reward is?

Quest 41: Wei Wuxian

[The great thing about the forum? She can figure out which district people come from easily. Which, in turn, makes finding people easier too. (It doesn't hurt to be best friends with a psychometer.)

So at some point in his day, she'll ambush Wei Wuxian while...sparkling? Yes, she is very much sparkling. How's she managing to do that? (Three words: stupid quest rewards)

Though ambushing was too strong a word. It was more like, sneaking up behind him and slapping both hands on his back.]

Guess who?

[ He leaps up, almost levitating for a second, before landing on the ground again. He turns. ]

K-Kaoru! I didn't see you there!

[ He's still breathing hard. ]

Wrong! I'm not Kaoru.

[She wags a finger at him.] I'm your fairy godmother! Since you've been such a good boy this year, you get to have one wish granted!

[ He claps his hands together. This is about the Quest, right? This is the Quest. He makes a show of thinking. ]

Hmmmmm, I wish that a pretty girl would come up to me and — wait, you're sparkling! How are you sparkling? Is this part of being a "fairy godmother"?

Quest 43: Akira

[Unfortunately, as much as she wants to grant everyone the ability to fly, there were a lot of...dangers with her power. She could only give it to someone who understood all the dangers and would be responsible with it.

Luckily, Akira fit the bill!

She hands over both her regular Limiter and her back up (they're the same, but the regular one is a bit more worn.] They'll stack so it should be able to bring you down to Level 5. [Which is...still high but manageable...maybe?]

...Level 5 sounds pretty high, still.

[But that's alright, right? He can totally handle it! At least, he's pretty sure he can handle it...

Well, it'll be fine. Kaoru will be here, and worst comes to worst, she can summon one of his Personas to knock him out of the sky.

Speaking of... he shrugs.]

No limiters for my powers, though. But they shouldn't do anything unless you tell them too. [At least, they've never rebelled on him before.]

[And it's probably still closer to Level 6...but like. It'll be fine! (Probably).]

To steal color, we just had to touch, so it's probably the same for swapping powers.
