All Might | Backdated late Nov

[Though most of the Chroma residents were suddenly hit with sickness, one case in particular stands out to Izuku. All Might's health has never been the best, and now that he was feeling ill on top of everything else he already had to deal with, Izuku's more worried than ever.

It makes him think back to the last quest, about taking color. Technically, if that was possible, then giving color should also be possible, too, shouldn't it? And if draining color from someone made them tired and listless, then wouldn't the reverse apply for the opposite?

Thoughts like this circle through Izuku's mind for a few days, until a particularly bad bout of coughing on All Might's end finally makes up his mind.]

I have an idea. [He blurts out, when he's visiting his mentor again.]

[smaaaaaash]

[In typical All Might fashion, he's been trying to keep the extent of his illness to himself, even if that's a little difficult with people like Izuku and Reim always around to worry about him. Privately, though, he does feel grateful for the company; much of this month has been wasted feeling weak and feverish, trying to rest it off only for it to get worse.

It's troubling, but it's hopefully nothing he can't overcome. So he'd been ready to downplay another nasty round of coughing with a dismissive joke, when Izuku speaks up.]

An idea? About what, young Midoriya?

[Izuku shakes his head, suddenly feeling foolish for speaking out. He has an inkling that All Might wouldn't approve of this, being the way that he is, and that means he shouldn't explain first.]

I just want to try something. Can you give me your hand?

[He watches All Might, hope and nerves mingling together until he's just a big ball of tension. Despite that, it feels right to try and heal All Might this way. Though he had disapproved of the quest initially, giving color willingly to someone else is an entirely different thing than taking it.]

Shouto & Vriska

[It all starts off like a normal day, with Izuku buried in his research, either staring down at some book or clacking away at his laptop, while Shouto and Vriska talk near him. Perhaps that's why he lets his guard down and his work completely saps all his concentration.

Even when he isn't mumbling to himself, he doesn't notice when the normal chatter turns into something a little more devious.]

[Between the two of them they have a decent amount of the unicorn pins. With Izuku so completely absorbed in his work, Shouto disappears into their room before coming out with their collection of them.

He pins one onto Izuku's upper sleeve, making him sparkle.

Shouto looks up at Vriska like, go on, add another one.]

[ She spends the entire time Shouto is gone trying not to laugh. Then again, she thinks that even if she did, he probably wouldn't notice? He's weird when he gets like this. All ... intense. In a way that is somehow profoundly uncool.

The smile on her face is a mile wide when her friend returns and, silent in the way only an actual ghost can be, takes another of the pins and attaches it to Izuku's shirt right between his shoulder blades. That spot that's impossible to reach on your own, you know the one.

Vriska flaps a hand at Shouto. Do one more, do one more! ]

Kaoru & Shiho

[Though the locket in his hand looks normal enough, Izuku still gets the sense that there's something important about it. Important to Chroma, that is. Even if nothing's exactly happened since they restored color to the gem. Maybe with a certain someone's help, they'll have a better idea of what the locket is all about.

Speaking of help--]

Kaoru-san, Shiho-san! [It's still new, calling them by their given names, but Izuku smiles at them when he sees them approaching.]

[She pouts.]

If you're going to use my first name shouldn't you just call me 'Kaoru-chan?'

[Not that she would push. It was probably a lot just to be at the point where they were on first name basis given how Izuku is.]

And if you're going to use my first name, shouldn't you call me "Shiho-sama?"


[But Shiho is smiling anyways. With her though, who knows if that's a good thing?]

Shouto | Quest 38

[inheritance]

[Between the two of them and their quirks, an axe probably isn't necessary, but Izuku still has it strapped to his backpack...just in case. The snow crunches beneath their feet as they walk, and Izuku smiles as he tucks his hands into his pockets.]

It's pretty quiet in here, but not in a bad way. [The ominous kind of way, he means, when you venture too far and attract the forest's attention.] I know we've been in there a bunch of times before, but we should check the stores for anything we could use as ornaments when we get back.

[glaciers]

[Shouto's dressed the way he usually is for quests and for training. Namely his jumpsuit. It's just comfortable and perfect for the weather.]

We aren't going in too far.

There are those unicorn pins from that quest a while back. Maybe we can attach them to strings?

[Ah, yes. Those unicorn charms that Shouto and Vriska pranked him with just days ago. Izuku raises his brows at Shouto, trying for stern, but probably looking more amused instead.]

We could do that. Maybe they'll get the tree to sparkle instead.

[That would be a sight, if it worked.]

Damian | Quest 38

[inheritance]

[This time, Izuku comes a little more prepared, with a bag to hold any stray bits of wood that they could use to make ornaments out of--or staffs. Or both.

As usual, Izuku's all too happy to fill the silence with the occasional chatter, sometimes giving commentary about the pieces he's picking up.]

This one's about the right shape--I could make it into one of those... um, bat shaped knives you left in my room last time. That could make a nice ornament!

Batarangs.

[It isn't a mean correction, just an offer for the right label for them. He doesn't even glance up from picking out wood that will be easy to turn into a simple ornament.

He's not an expert whittler, but he's decent.] Are you trying to make some form of superhero tree?

[inheritance]

Batarangs. [Izuku repeats cheerfully, storing the term away for later.] Oh! I see. Bat and boomerang.

[Don't mind him scooping up more wood as they walk along.]

Why not? They never said we had to stick to traditional ornaments. A superhero themed tree could be fun! [For Izuku, maybe. He's just apparently determined to turn every holiday they celebrate here into something super hero related.] Besides, even in America, the ornaments come in all shapes and sizes, right?

Shouto | Quest 39

[They're making a lot of trips into the forest lately, huh. At least this time it's for a nicer purpose.]

I wonder what happens when you make the wish... is getting the wish the reward for the quest? Or does the town just like knowing what we'd ask for when we're giving a chance like this? Then there's other things to consider, like abstract wishes, or wishes that might be beyond the town's limits to grant...

[Mumble mumble... is it possible that the mumbling's even more weird when it's done in the quiet snow-covered landscape?]

[glaciers]

[There's a lot of reason to go into the forest this month. That's fine by Shouto and he's pretty happy to just listen to Izuku talk. It's cute and it's nice. Just hearing Izuku's voice and hearing what he's overthinking about today.]

We won't know until we do it.

All Might | Quest 39

[inheritance]

[Though Izuku's still wondering just how this kind of quest would work, he leads the way into the forest, glancing at All Might every now and then just to make sure he's holding up okay.]

Do you think they'll grant whatever we wish for?

[It's a soft, contemplative question, almost swallowed up by the quiet of the snow surrounding them.]

[smaaaaaash]

[All Might's dressed in oversized clothes just in case they need to fight, and with the winter cold, it does have the added benefit of helping to keep warm. He's keeping a sharp eye on their surroundings, though to the question, looks down at Izuku.]

It's worth a try. There are likely dangers along the way, but that will only make the wish more worthwhile once we find it.

[At least, that's been the logic of this place so far.]

[He sucked at making things, so in the end it was a pretty stupid idea. Izuku had even said he was sewing things himself in order to work on his dexterity from his weirdly mangled fingers. He hadn't thought to ask why his fingers were like that when he was just a kid, but... If they were busted up like that, his circulation was probably also crap. He knew better than to think he could make fingered gloves, especially without knowing how to fit them to him, so he just settled for hand-warmers, made out of what looked like an old shirt he found laying around somewhere. It was flannel, so it should be warm enough.]

[Now he just had to... give them to him. Which seemed to kind of be the hardest part, really. But he'd already made the darn things, there was no point in getting that far and not going through with it all the way. This time, he remembered to find and scoop up his cat to bring along, at least. So cat in his pocket and hand warmers in his hand, he shuffled his way up to the green-haired kid, scuffing the ground with his sandal to announce his presence.]

...hey.

[As per usual, Izuku looks like he's been training, his face flushed and just a bit sweaty even in the snow.]

Ah, Matsuno-san! [Izuku immediately turns a smile on his friend.] I was just on the way back to my place. Want to come in?

[His smile only widens when he sees who Ichimatsu has with him.] Is that... your cat?

Maya, Kaoru, Jion | Pendant

[Once it became clear that the rewards were all parts they could put together, it's easy enough to find the people with the rest of the pieces Izuku needs. So he hopes, anyway.

They meet up near the gardens, closer to the forest in case something happens when they're fiddling--you never know, with Chroma--and Izuku holds out the chain he'd found after completing the quest.]

Okay, let's do this. Doesn't look like we have too many pieces to assemble, at least.

[scooptimistic]

Lucky us, right?

[ Maya's holding out her charm piece, though. ]

I think it hooks onto the chain.

Shouto | Forest

[inheritance]

[It's when they've been walking into the forest for a few minutes that Izuku finally notices.]

There's no whispering. [Izuku murmurs, keeping close to Shouto as they venture deeper into the trees.] Still feels like someone's watching us, though.

[It reminds him of the time he, Kaoru, and Shiho had gone in just weeks before, actually. As if the forest were judging them rather than the usual prickly, creepy kind of awareness.]

The no whispering is new... wonder why it's different this time?

[Not that he's going to complain about no whispering.]
