That's hard to say. [ he's not going to write a long one, though. ] Hmm. What's your "color?"

Uh... [oh] Oh yeah, you're old.

[Well don't worry, he will now pull a blue marker out of his pocket and hold it up.] You write with it.

Oh - like a marking pen, then. Okay, that makes more sense.

[ he thought he meant he had some kind of identification proving he was blue?? anyway, interesting. ]

Maybe you can help me after all. If we find someone yellow, we'll be totally qualified... as far as the quest goes, anyway.

[pursestrings]

[What other kind of pen is there?! A just for fun pen?? Okuyasu is momentarily baffled by this train of thought, then—hmm!!]

Let's start now, then someone else can finish and we'll be done early!

[ a cool fountain pen for writing your super cool calling cards, GOSH.

he appraises Okuyasu for a few seconds, apparently weighing his options, before offering a little grin. ]

You're more fired up about this than I would have guessed... All right, then! Let's do it. Come and sit down.

[ beckoning him into his house towards the kitchen area, where he's got one of the blank books from town open on the table and ready for writing!! ]

[I hope they destroy this book with shitty fiction and then the quest brings back the real text and it's like Moby Dick under there.......

Anyway Okuyasu follows him in to take a seat at this writing station. Can he write this in blue marker, or nah?]

You think I can't write? I can write just fine. [Despite what his online behavior would have one believe.] Alright, you kick us off!

Now, when did I say that?

[ he just seems like a teenage boy who wouldn't care?? nonetheless, Lupin slides what's probably a first-edition copy of Grapes of Wrath or something over to Okuyasu so he can begin defacing it with his blue marker for the both of them. ]

Here's what I think: the quest asked for us to "understand the worth of a story." In other words, it has to be a story that's worth something - so something with a moral, like a fairy tale. That's a good place to start, I think. How about "don't judge a book by its cover?" The audience loves a misunderstood hero.

[He's gonna draw a cool S in this book at some point, just wait for it. Also his handwriting in English is probably incredibly bad?? This is getting worse and worse.]

Okay... so what's his deal? He's stuffy and wears a bowtie, but he likes to go solve mysteries?

[This is a funny joke. But for real, that's a good idea, right??]

I guess? That's pretty depressing, though... is it gonna work if there's no happy ending?

Don't be silly. Of course there's a happy ending! I'm not a fan of tragedies. Maybe true love can cure her of her curse. Or maybe she takes matters into her own hands and goes out to find a way to break it herself.

[are you describing the premise of lupin's canon, i have to know]

...Okay, sure. She's gotta have a name, 'cause those stories that just go "the princess did whatever, blah blah" sound like shit.

[ writing down this name, possibly spelling it wrong, but he's trying. ]

Reimi lives in a little village in the woods, all by herself. Let's see... She tries to tend to her garden, but the plants all wither away when she touches them. She tries to bake a cake for her neighbors, but it turns to ashes the moment you put it in your mouth... She's a very unlucky girl.

Reimi's dog running away is the last straw - she's tired of her rotten luck, and she chases after him, determined to get him back and beat her curse once and for all. But following the dog leads her to... hmmm... a spooky swamp?
