t's very, very cold. It's cold enough that you'll see your breath fog in the air before you, that goosebumps appear on your arms and legs and a chill goes up your spine. You're inside, in a huge palace with sweeping arches and rooms, but it's no real shelter from the cold -- it's just as cold inside as out.
There's a throne room, a kitchen, various rooms and even a dungeon to be explored -- and outside, a frigid, frozen garden, a lake that's naturally frozen over, and miles, and miles of snow as far as the eye can see.
But be careful while you explore. The snowflake soldiers are naturally dangerous, but even more dangerous than that...there's that creeping sensation of numbness going up your arm, a pang through your chest, and the slow, slow freezing from the inside out.
Try not to leave any of your friends behind, okay? Even if they might look a bit too uncannily like some of the statues hanging around for decoration when they're frozen over.

[ And warmth. But one thing at a time, all right? Coming up with plausible excuses on the fly is hard!! ]

Huh.

Stay behind me. [ He’ll get between them anyway, drawing his sword as the knight charges at them. ]

She could easily allow herself to be protected as the knight raises its sword and takes a swing at them.]

This requires an instrument of more precision. He pulls out his harp then, carrying it in one hand as he holds out the other to her. ]
I am sorry, but…please take my hand. I will let go as soon as the danger is past.

But she also doesn't want to get cut in half by a knight so with a frown, she takes his hand.]
Just remember to let go as soon as all this is over. [Because otherwise she'll have to be responsible for all the things she reads from him.]

He guides her into another corridor, holding fast to her in case she might slip again. Despite the thundering noise of approaching knights, his attention is all on her and on making sure she can keep up, with barely a glance spared for the enemy right at their heels.
And it’s no wonder: when they get close enough Tristan doesn’t even bother to look up as he plucks a note on his harp, the sound glimmering in the air for a moment before a tiny hole appears in the forehead of the nearest knight…and then another—and another as Tristan continues plucking notes at random, firing invisible arrows at their would-be captors until they crumple into mere piles of snow. ]

At least that means she now has the time to notice whatever it is that he's doing with the harp. The arrows may be invisible and she may be trying to give him his privacy but she can't turn off her powers.
Her eyes snap to the knights as they fall then back to him. With a frown, her hand reaches out almost as if she was trying to support herself against the ice before she gives him a tug to the left.]
This way. [The corridor she's indicating is empty of knights for the moment and leads them to what she is sure will be safety.]

After a while, he whispers, in the ensuing quiet: ]
I can no longer sense them. But are you all right?

I’m fine. Are you?

[ So they can take their time, he thinks. ]
