t's very, very cold. It's cold enough that you'll see your breath fog in the air before you, that goosebumps appear on your arms and legs and a chill goes up your spine. You're inside, in a huge palace with sweeping arches and rooms, but it's no real shelter from the cold -- it's just as cold inside as out. There's a throne room, a kitchen, various rooms and even a dungeon to be explored -- and outside, a frigid, frozen garden, a lake that's naturally frozen over, and miles, and miles of snow as far as the eye can see. But be careful while you explore. The snowflake soldiers are naturally dangerous, but even more dangerous than that...there's that creeping sensation of numbness going up your arm, a pang through your chest, and the slow, slow freezing from the inside out. Try not to leave any of your friends behind, okay? Even if they might look a bit too uncannily like some of the statues hanging around for decoration when they're frozen over. [ Listening to his reasoning, Lux can't help but smile meekly. He's a man of science, and he's buying into the same explanation? Jion is hardly the first person she's heard the comparison from, but she expected better from him. ]

Come on, Jion, we both know that fairy tales aren't real. [ She pauses, her brow furrowing gently as her smile fades. ] But a curse on the other hand...

[ That's what has him a little embarrassed, and Jion rubs at his face. ]

I know, I know, it sounds kind of silly. But things have happened in Chroma that sound ridiculous, you know? There was food that made you act all weird, and for a while I ended up giving my memories to people if I talked to them and that was awful, so I figured it might be worth a shot ...

[ A brief pause before he realizes what Lux just said. ]

-- wait, what about curses?

[ Lux looks away when he presses her assessment, huffing a quiet, tired breath before nodding. ]

Remember what I told you about magic where I'm from?

[ She told him a lot of things that probably made no sense. Leaning back against the cold wall of frozen snow, she stares at the space in front of them, a faraway look in her eyes. ]

Usually it's the work of very dark magic, or an act of malice from a vengeful spirit. They can be simple things, like turning someone's luck. But at times, curses can be much more dangerous. Turning people to stone, for example.
