t's very, very cold. It's cold enough that you'll see your breath fog in the air before you, that goosebumps appear on your arms and legs and a chill goes up your spine. You're inside, in a huge palace with sweeping arches and rooms, but it's no real shelter from the cold -- it's just as cold inside as out.
There's a throne room, a kitchen, various rooms and even a dungeon to be explored -- and outside, a frigid, frozen garden, a lake that's naturally frozen over, and miles, and miles of snow as far as the eye can see.
But be careful while you explore. The snowflake soldiers are naturally dangerous, but even more dangerous than that...there's that creeping sensation of numbness going up your arm, a pang through your chest, and the slow, slow freezing from the inside out.
Try not to leave any of your friends behind, okay? Even if they might look a bit too uncannily like some of the statues hanging around for decoration when they're frozen over.

[ They won't deny that, and in fact, he should hear it so he knows better next time. But they're not mad about it, or mad at him, really. They're a lot more compassionate than they let on towards these sort of events. ]
But... I can overlook it. [ That's the closest thing to I forgive you in their vocabulary. There's a pause while they glance about for somewhere to sit, scratching at their cheek with a gloved hand. ] Just don't do it again.

but then, would cairngorm be themselves at all if they weren’t just a little sharp? ]
I won’t. I’ll try. [ a pause… ] You don’t have to help, if it happens again.

[ They don't want to think about what Dextera would have done if they had not been there. He might have wandered back into the forest and froze to death, or gotten eaten by something in there, or who knows what else. ]
You're close with Guren, aren't you? [ Based on what they saw of him post-forest expedition, they assume that. ] Do you think I'd wanna deal with him getting mad at me if I let you die? Well?

especially when cairngorm is using it as a point of scolding, again. ]
…
[ he shakes his head, properly contrite. ]

Surely you don't want to upset him, either. [ They're not gonna beat a dead horse, so they relax some of the tension in their brows. ] So don't get yourself hurt.
[ There's a beat, while they rub their arms. ]
That includes right now, too.

[ dextera nods, agreeing with them quietly, and then he pauses at that second little addition—back to this? well, dextera doesn’t mind too much, because he’s more or less comfortably convinced himself that there’s no self-flagellation in giving cairngorm his coat. it is fine.
he breathes out. ]
You are… persistent.

[ It's less a question and more of a complaint, sort of exasperated as they avoid looking at him. They've been called a worry-wart more than once in this place, which is likely what he's referring to; it's not like that's the image they mean to give off. It just sort of comes out naturally, as not needing to think much about their own survival frees up a lot of rock-brain energy for thinking about others. ]

I am OK. Don’t worry. Do you have enough light?
